August 10- NYC Cruise to Nowhere

Checking in from South Jersey! We have 8 people cruising 2 families -This is the first cruise for all the kids...testing the waters to see if they are sea worthy! I picked the late seating for dinner want to spend as much time as we can in the sun the ship is almost sold out...so glad we booked!

are you guys going to check luggage for a 2 night trip or just carry on a rolling suitcase??

I already advised my co-cruisers that we will be just taking carryons....so much easier.

The 8 of us sailed the Carnival Victory back in 2000 on a 2 might girls weekend and had a great time. One of the best sights was seeing the WTC as you sailed down the river out to sea.....I found these the other day from that trip and posted them on the main board but thought I would post them here as well.

It was August 22, 2000.

We have 8 women packed into 2 cabins....will be tight quarters but I have our TA working on switching us out to 2 of us each in 4 cabins....will hear back today if it was successful.

Also, has anybody done their online check in yet? I wanted to be paid in full yesterday (could start online booking last night) but have to wait for the TA to finalize our cabins before I can pay in full.....

Go yankees!!! hubby and friend are going to opening day today!!!

someone asked earlier if anyone went to see the Fantasy when she was in NYC....I'll admit I spent 2 full days stalking her when she was here....here are my pics if you care to see!! We even walked into the terminal the night of the christening and watched everyone invited arrive!

Thanks for the great pictures of the WTC. DH and I sailed out of NY on Aug 5, 2001 on our honeymoon. We have several of the same pictures. Hard to believe what happened a month later. DH and I worked a few blocks away from WTC and it was the longest, scariest day of our lives.

We still have a few weeks till we can do online check in, but I plan on paying it off next week!

hi there, it's been a while since i've been on or even checked.. hope we are all doind well , and getting excited! lol i know , 2 day cruise. do wish it was longer now.. kids are having me check the fantasy out for next year! (that's why i'm getting super excited now)
anyway, just wondering if anyone knows how they will be doind dinner rotations, if we are on for 2 nights?

We surprised the kids last weekend! Wrapped a huge box full of balloons with an invitation for each of them attached to the balloons! We have 2 families 4 kids total They are very excited! DD is 7 her friend is 6 and DS 10 and so is his friend. Wondering of there are any other dis DD and DS around their ages?? This is the cruise first cruise for all 4 kids!

We have some friends joining us on this cruise!

Our family of 5 went on the Dream on 4/5 with another family of 5 and they loved it! So the adults decided to do this cruise with us......aahhhh....an adult only cruise!

So this will be their 2nd cruise. They are so psyched to be getting lanyards!
They are Veronica and DH, Anthony and they are from Long Island, too!

We're psyched that they loved cruising.....'cause we love cruising!

we have some ressies for the fantasy for next year, but the prices are outrageous!
we may have to wait til 2014 to sail the fantasy, although I doubt I'll be able to wait that long!

I realize this is late in the grand scheme of things ... BUT ... I was wondering if there are any single cruisers (one person in a stateroom), who might be looking to reduce their cruise fare by cruising with a room mate? Either that, OR, do you have someone in your stateroom, who is no longer able to attend the cruise?

I am a 50 year old married male, Platinum Castaway Club member living in suburban Philadelphia, looking to sail on a 2-day Magic / NYC cruise. I am a non-smoker, and have no problems dining 1st or 2nd seating. Since I am Platinum, everyone in my stateroom would be entitled to one free PALO dinner. In addition, anyone in my party would be able to board as early as 11AM (regardless of your designated boarding time)

never hear of that, but prob will be booking one of the 3 hotels that Disney transportation will pick up at. and check out a broadway show, night before.

I'm contemplating changing our dinner seating to late. I'd like to be able to be up on deck on our first night as we cruise out of the harbor and am afraid I'll miss it because of dinner. Does anyone know exactly how long it takes to cruise out of the harbor?

i think you may be correct! i can't remember what DCL quoted me on the bus ride there. but it was well in to the 100's for one way.
i have'nt decided yet to book transfere's..
