August 10, 2013 Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy

We have not only thought about excursions, we have booked ours already. But I am not sure I have the information you are looking for as we are travelling without kids and are more interested in sightseeing than beach experiences.

I'd love to hear about the excursions you chose! Adults only in our cabin, too!

We like the idea of splitting the growing number of FE participants as well. Karin, I like your idea of organizing by floor too!
So thrilled our countdown has entered the double digits!!!

I think splitting is the only logical thing to do. Especially since we still have about 3 months to go and I am sure there will be some other people signing up as well. You cannot manage all those staterooms on one list.
And I think splitting by floors will save us all a great deal of "walking".

This will be the first time at these ports so we chose to stick with Disney excursions. So, for St. Maarten we chose the "Under two flags" tour, which is a 3 hour bus tour, showing both sides of the island. The tour will be over at 11.30, so that should leave us ample time to explore on our own a bit too.

For St. Thomas we booked the Best of St. Thomas Tour and Shopping, which is pretty similar to the St. Maarten tour. It ends at 11.15 and will give us time again to take the Skyride to Paradise Point. We decided to do that on our own. I read that it is close to the port and one can easily walk there.

For the sea days we have Palo brunch and Remy Champagne lunch. We have done both numerous times and even though we have been to Remy dinner 4 times we enjoyed the lunch a lot and we will not leave too full again.
On Pirate night we will have dinner at Palo. Pirate night menu is my least favourite menu, so Palo is the perfect choice on that night.

No excursions on CC. We rented a Cabana at Serenity Bay and will just hang out there.

Hi! My family is very excited to be sailing on the Fantasy in August!

It's me, Michelle, my partner, Sheila, and our two kids DD Jordan (13) and DS Cameron (11). We are from Colorado but currently living in the U.K.

This will be our fifth cruise but our first one on either of the new ships. This cruise will actually be our second one for the summer. We will be sailing on the 12-night Eastern Med cruise this July. We've also booked the 9-night Greek Isle cruise for next June.

We just booked this cruise! Thought why not start a cruise thread to count down to our summer 2013 vacation!

We, that are my dear brother, Tom, who works for the Austrian Postal Services and LOVES everything Disney and myself, Karin, a teacher at a small Austrian village.
Before we took our first cruise we were sure that this would be a one time thing, but like everything else at Disney, the service was so outstanding that this will be cruise no 10 in 5
seasons!

Karin- I've heard really good things about the Under two Flags tour! I think my Dad is spearheading our excursions now, so I guess I don't have to worry about it anymore!! I would LOVE to post a picture of Colby, but I don't know how... LOL. I'm pretty technology savvy, except for that! Colby is doing really well, he only wakes up once at night (for now!) and is really mellow during the day. He has just started smiling socially this past week so it's been fun to try to make him smile and laugh!

The split by decks and head count is a great idea! I love that our sailing is so popular!

Welp, back to laundry and more prep for our Disney trip! 8 days until Colby's first trip and our first Star Wars Weekend!!

I hope you fill us in on your Med cruise in July, as we are doing a 12 night Med cruise in 2014 as well.
I am sure you will love the new ships as well. We fell in love with the Wonder, then changed to the Dream and they all have their own charms.

I am glad you like the idea. Not sure how to divide the decks yet, but we should all know by the time of our cut off date. (depends on how many people still sign on and what decks they are going to be at).

PLEASE, remind me again if you still want to be in a latecomer list once it is time for it. I have a few things going on (trip to Germany at the end of this week, 5 day trip to Italy in two weeks, more work projects) just in case I forget.

Thanks for the head's up on the Under Two Flags tour! We are pretty excited about our choices.
What a shame about not being able to post a photo of Colby. I guess we will need to get to meet him in person then. But please keep us updated on his progress. And his first trip to WDW!

I just added the following text to my first post, explaining about the spitting of our FE group into several smaller ones.

Important news for FE participants!

Our list is constantly growing, so we have decided that once we reach our cut off date, which will be June 30th, we will divide the group into smaller groups. This should work like this ......

Groups will have around 50 people in it (adults AND children)
Groups will be divided by decks (to save on running around)
If you want to be in more than 1 group please just let me know, so I can put you on all/1 other list.
Hope this is in everyones interest!
