August 10, 2012 Disney Dream

Well this is my first DIS boards post ever. I just added my family to the FE list! Hopefully you will all enjoy the gifts. This will be our first cruise, so we are just a bit excited! :cool1: My mom Gail or "Hornet" has been planning this trip for a very long time. I can't believe it is almost here. I look forward to meeting everyone at the meet and greet. :cheer2:

Welcome Kelly!
When your mom asked to be added to the M&G she said there were 8 Adults & 6 kids...I'm assuming that includes you and your fam but if not let me know and I'll add you...This is our first cruise EVER so we r VERY excited too!

OMG what a cute baby and what special pictures. I can just imagine how many pics you will take on the cruise with all the Disney stuff surrounding you. Are we having a M & G so we can meet this darling boy?

Gail

Thank you! We are bringing extra memory sticks indeed and have already discussed photo packages :thumbsup2 I am looking for infant pirate ears now for Pirate Night!!! We are up for a meet and greet as well!

Yes it does include us.

Thanks :)

Just used the Target debit card trick I learned here on the boards to buy out EVERY Disney gift card at my local Target store! You get 5% off with a Target RedCard. We're going to use those to pay for the shipboard account - including the down payment for a dummy date, of course :)

Whats the trick at Target debit card ?

If you use a Target debit or credit card, you get 5% off everything (besides Target gift cards). So I applied for a debit card, which just comes out of your normal checking account like your normal debit card would. I bought $1,000 worth of Disney gift cards and paid $950.

Verified with my travel agent, to pay for our shipboard account I just need to take them to the desk when I board. To pay for our next cruise in March, I just need to give the TA all the numbers and she will apply them as payment in full to Disney.

It's a pain to have a million $50 gift cards, and you should keep them until after your cruise - any refunds go back to the card they were paid with. And 5% isn't going to change the world. BUT - I figure between the OBCs from the TA and booking onboard, the 10% off from booking onboard, 5% off at Target - it all adds up!

I am pretty sure that my patients and coworkers are ready for me to hurry up and go on this cruise so I will shut up about it... haha silly puppies... they will be in for weeks of "post cruise pixie dust withdrawal syndrome" when I return. :lmao:

Lol! One of my patients just asked my on Friday, " weren't you going on a cruise?" He was then subjected to a rundown of how many days til we leave, all the pre cruise plans, the meet and greet and all the latest on the FE! Poor guy, he just asked a simple question! :rolleyes1

Haha!! :rotfl2: I can totally relate! Luckily several of my coworkers are Disney-heads as well so I have back-up if needed. I guess it makes matters worse that we are also planning our Nov trip to Disney World... yes I am addicted... and I am absolutely fine with that! :lmao:

I've been talking about Disney so much that one of my patients decided to plan her own trip now!!

That has happened to me several times as well... I think we should be part time Disney travel agents! :mickeyjum:dancer:

Haven't had a chance to read the posts but I'll be on this cruise. It's my first one.
