August 10, 2012 Disney Dream

Hi everyone! We will be on this cruise as well. It will be me and DH (who did a 3 night cruise for our 20th in 2009) with our 2 DD's. They will be 16 and 10. Really excited that we already have a thread going. We missed the meet last time, but had a lot of fun with the FE.

Hey there scrapbookmaomma74! We actually LOVED the Eastern! We did the Western back in 2003 and loved that one too! :cool2: But we loved the days at sea! Our kids were running around and my husband I had so much quality time it was great!!!:woohoo: But I agree, any cruise is the best ever!!! Can't wait for this one!!!:cheer2:

PS, weavers...
We did the Jan. 16-23, 2010 Eastern on the Magic. Did you enjoy that itinerary? We prefer the Western, although being on ANY cruise in January is better than being in Chicago! lol

So sorry that I didn't get back to you...I haven't been on this board in awhile (so preoccupied with my July WDW trip and our October Dream cruise).

ANYHOW, my dd's will be 12 and almost 9 (like 2 weeks shy) on this cruise. And, we were on the Jan. 8-15, 2011 cruise on the Magic, so we missed you by a week. What cabin were you in? We had 6610 and 6608.

Can't wait to get to know everyone here! I'm definitely IN for a fish extender exchange! :)

That is great! Our daughters will be close in age then!! I will have DD almost 13 and another DD who will have just turned 11 and then of course my DS will be 6!! :thumbsup2 Always fun for the kids to know others going in!! We were in 2538 and 2540 I think?! I can't remember...but that sounds right! I even forget what we are in this time! Something in the 7000's I think?!?!

Hey, what happened to everybody - no posts in a month.

We're booked with our whole family (14 total). We are the grandparents who love to cruise - all with Princess. Family #1 is DD and husband with son 16 (all ages at time of cruise) and daughter 11. Family #2 son and wife with DS 14 and DD 10. Family #3 DD and DH with DD 9 and DS 6.

We've all been to Disney World many times - but none have cruised the Disney line. Next summer this time we'll be heavy into planning and anxiously waiting.

You'll love DCL. A couple of your granddaughters are right around my younger DD's age. She'll be 10 when we cruise.

Hi everyone! Glad to see a few new crusin' families! Sorry I have not been here for awhile. I was pre-occupied with our cruise to Bermuda (on Carnival...I wish Disney would go to Bermuda...it's so beautiful). It was the first cruise for our kids, and they had a blast! Now they are REALLY excited for the Dream!

Wachnicki...my daughter (she'll be 16 on the cruise) is thrilled to hear that yet another girl her age will be on the cruise. She made some good friends on the cruise we just went on.

I can't wait another year...I want to cruise now!:yay:

My DD is very shy so I'm excited that she can " meet" some new friends pre-cruise!

My DD is very shy too. We were worried about her with this last cruise because she really wanted to make some friends to hang out with, but she's very shy. She met some girls the first night at the teen club's "meet and greet" night, and then we barely saw her. She met some really nice kids that she hung around with/went to the teen activities with. They are still texting each other every day, and they hope to get together again in the future.

Oh, and travelseekers daughter (who will be 17) and my daughter have been in contact already. (We "met" on another board). They seem to have a lot in common, so she's thrilled that she already "knows" at least one person on the cruise. Wachnicki, is your daughter on the teen thread of disboards?

Hello Fellow Cruisers,
We are very excited about our first Disney Cruise. I am glad to see we will not be the only big group traveling together. We are planning a family get together cruise...we are three sisters who are taking our whole families on their first cruise. There will be about 26 of us altogether. Family #1 is 6 adults and 4 boys ages 12, 9, 6 and 3. Family #2 will be 6 adults and 4 kids ages, 10(boy), 5(boy), 4(girl) and 8 months(unkonwn at this date). Family #3(us) will be 5 adults one boy 9. We are really looking forward to this trip. Our 12 year old on the cruise is wondering about the activities for tweens, anybody have information for him?

Welcome to another first time Disney cruiser. Our 11 yr old granddaughter (who will be 12 six weeks after the cruise) will be using the tween activities also. She may also want to go down a level to be with her two younger cousins. Are you all going to try to be on the same dinner rotation? I've been trying to read some of the reviews on the Dream and copy the info that we need. There doesn't seem to be as much info on the 5-day cruise that we're taking.

We have a long cruise coming up this Oct and I'm busy planning that one. When we get back in Nov I'll be concentrating on this Disney cruise. We also will be stopping at Disney World before the cruise and have to plan that as well.

We were hoping that our tween will be able to go down, but weren't sure that could happen. The age groupings in the clubs do not overlap, so we didn't think they could. Yes, we are all on the same dining time. We are planning 5 days in Orlando before the cruise and were thinking we would do Legoland, Universal, and one of the Disney water parks. If you were doing only one water park with children 12-4, which one would you do? We have daredevils and scaredy cats.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I am glad to see there has been some activity on the board.

Moobear, I'm so glad to hear that your daughter had a great time on your recent cruise. How was the cruise overall? I hope you all had a great time. Summer is going by fast, isn't it?

Wachnicki, Welcome to the message board. it sounds like our three daughters could have a great time together. I think they are all a bit on the shy side but I know my daughter really wants to break out of her shell and make some great friends. I bet it will be a great trip for all of them.

Hi mysanchez!
We were just in WDW in July for 10 days. We did both waterparks, and my DDs (11 & 7) had a better time at Typhoon Lagoon. They loved snorkeling through the Shark Reef (although they have snorkeled before).
They also really had fun on the Crushin' Gusher and the Lazy River.
On our last WDW trip, the girls were 7 & 4, and they liked Blizzard Beach better. So, its really a toss up. They are BOTH fabulous, and you can't go wrong either way. There are plenty of activities for all at both places! :)

Thanks Scrapbookmama74. We have been to WDW 6 times since December 07, but never to the water parks. I guess the water parks are like everything else Disney does...there is something (lots of things) for everyone.;)

Hello everyone,

We are just back from our Med Magiccruise and booked this one on board :cool1::cool1:

Since we're from Belgium, we are still waiting to get good airrates, so we're not 100% sure yet..this should be our 7th DCL cruise and our first on the Dream ( we did see her in Real Life in Papenburg in july 2010:lovestruc )

We are DH (45), Me (40 something..:lmao:) and DS (age 9, celebrating his 10th birthday on board).

Any FE list already ??:cheer2::cheer2:

Dagmar aka Meg

Welcome Meg -n-Walt! Wow, you are coming all the way from Belgium, huh? Fantastic! I visited Belgium back in my younger days (Brussels, Brugge). I absolutely loved Brugge. Definitely my favorite stop on my trek through Europe.

Travelseeker, yes we all had a fantastic time our cruise. Now my kids are more excited than ever for our Disney cruise next year!

Wachnicki, my daughter started a thread in the teen forum many months ago asking if anyone was going on this cruise, but I don't think she got any responses. Maybe if your daughter searched older threads she could find it, or my daughter can post it again.

Exactly one year from today we will have just returned form our Dream vacation!

We weren't able to find the thread......can your daughter post it again? Or maybe look her up on Facebook? Melissa Broadway in Redding Ca.
