I was only planning to go out for lunch, but I spent so long at lunch that it turned into dinner time. :rolleyes1 So I hit the drive through on the way home. It was a good day with food and friends. :thumbsup2

Breakfast for me and the kiddo- $3.28
team lunch out - $6.20
coke - $1.25

Then I bought a toy and a bathing suit cover up for the kiddo with an old giftcard. It's sort of cheating but I am not going to count that. The money was spent a looong time ago.

8/2: $0
8/3: $0
8/4: $0
8/5: $48.21 (parking, lunch, dinner)

Today wasn't a no-buy day, but I'm proud of my 3 days in a row. I'm not sure whether to put the mortgage payment in. I deduct it when I do my budget, but since it's a regular monthly expense, I don't really think of it as me buying anything or spending money that I shouldn't. Should I include it?

I don't add in mortgage payments, power, water, cell phone or cable modem. Those are set bills that I don't have any control over.

this.

If its an "option" then I record it here. Mortgage & car payments are a MUST. Lunch with friends is an option.

That being said, the No Buy threads are very different for every person - if recording your mortage will help you, then go ahead! Days that I pay mortgage, but do no "optional" spending I will still count as a no buy.

8/1-?
8/2-1$ for Tea at McDonalds
8/3-0$
8/4-32.00 at Target, 4$ for dinner at Teryaki Place(had GC so we all ate for 4$!)

8/6-Dunno, but we don't have any leftovers for lunch..so probably not 0$ I need to remedy this and I am at half a tank so need to fill up!

This is how I do it too!! But whatever works best for you is just fine! My monthly bills don't really fluctuate (I do a budget plan for utilities, insurance is always the same, etc), it's the rest I need to keep in check.

This week has kicked my butt!!! But I did manage to keep my spending in check. Not having an ATM card has helped quite a bit (though I really need it and hope my new one arrives soon!).

4 no buy days so far
$95 spent out of my total $700 budget!

:dance3:

Have a great weekend folks!!

I MUST take part in this! Hopefully this will help me cut back on misc crap. Like kettlebells, weight balls and stupid Pokemon cards.

Welcome musclemouse. I had to laugh at your post, kettleballs and weight balls, hehehe! I am expecting baby #2 and recently bought a few new workout DVDs. DH asked if I accounted for them in my budget or just swaped out grocery money for it to really get a fitness/health benefit :)

Welcome to $0 Buy!

The point of this thread is to track your spending in order to be aware of where your money is going.

You get to set your own goals for the month, for the number of $0 Buy Days and dollar amounts. You get to choose what categories to track on here and how much information to share.

Everyone is welcome. Good luck!
Why don't we just go ahead and set up Sept., Oct., Nov. while we r at it.:hippie:

Sooo... extra commission didn't come in today like I had hoped. Wanted to get a pedicure, but decided to delay that treat until I get the extra money. Grumbled at DH a bit that I had to be broke for another couple weeks.

So its a whiny 0 spend day. :-)
