I am so mad right now. I placed an order from Amazon on Sunday morning using their 2nd day delivery. Half of my order (delivered by UPS) has arrived, but the rest is apparantly sitting 15 minutes from my house in the Fed-Ex station. When I tracked it on their website it said that the package had arrived after the courier left. I'm working the evening shift at my job tonght so I can't even call them, though i did send out a few e-mails. I really wish I could just go and pick it up. This is so embarrassing. Now I only have half of my family's gifts.

Fedex is pretty good about bending over backwards to get stuff delivered. I would call and see if they can get it there.

Not tonite they are not. I got the same message when I tracked my package online- which was supposed to be here yesterday by the way. I was told I could drive on over and pick it up- 30 miles from my house! ON CHRISTMAS EVE! Bite me was the words I used with them. So I don't know if I'll ever get my one thing. Thankfully it was something for my dh so he won't be too upset if Santa is a day late. But I am still pissed.
And the attitude I got from the Fed Ex guy was what really ticked me off. It was like "too bad so sad"
ARGH! all my stuff that shipped UPS got here no problem. Only fed ex has been the issue this year. I also had something sitting in Georgia for a week in November waiting to be delivered to NJ. Oh yes overnight= yeah right.

I'm not too thrilled either. I ordered a gift basket for my father in law who's in Florida. I ordered it with the appropriate shipping option to guarantee delivery BY 12/24. I tracked it today on the FEDEX site and it's saying the estimated delivery date is SATURDAY! :furious:

The really bad thing is that we are his only family left, so without the basket from us - he has NOTHING for Christmas. :sad2:

I had a similar problem today but ended up with a good outcome.

I purchased an item for my son on Fathead.com. I did 2nd day air and it was to be delivered yesterday or today via UPS. When I checked the tracking it said delivery was rescheduled till 12/26!!, but the item was at the UPS facility about 7 miles away. I called UPS and they told me they would email the facility to see if I could pick up there. She said I would get a call within an hour from them.

I decided to head out and chance that I'd be able to pick it up at the UPS facility. They told me that since the item arrived late it was marked as rescheduled on their website, but assured me there is a good chance it was on the truck out for delivery. I had very little faith that this would happen and was frustrated when they couldn't give me confirmation either way. I felt that my package was at that facility and I was leaving without it.

By the time I got back home. It was at my doorstep. UPS is awesome. Even though my package came in late due to the airlines, it was still delivered as promised.

Considering it was my son's #1 gift on his list I am very grateful that it is here.

I'm sorry for everyone that wasn't so lucky.

We got the same thing here. A bunch of stuff ordered last week, all on the same day. UPS has delivered all their items, FEDEX has 3 things sitting at their station about 20 miles from here.

I just saw on our local news that this is a wide spread problem with FedEx due to the weather airport delays.
They said that FedEx locations would be open from 8-12 on Christmas day for people to pick up their packages, but there would be minimal deliveries tommorow.
Best of luck to everyone waiting on your packages.

I guess I'm lucky, but I ordered something FedEx ground right after Thanksgiving. They shipped it from New Hampshire, I'm in California, on 12/5, it got to Salt Lake on 12/11 and there it sat. FedEx would only say it was delayed due to weather. It was received in California on the 22nd and finally delivered today. :sad2:

yep, same problem here too....amazon and fed ex...making my Xmas miserable

Fed Ex delivered my stuff on time.

I ordered a PSP for DS in CA on the 18th of December. I paid an extra $12.00 for the expedited shipping and the item arrived on the 22nd.

I'm not too sure when my DH's Aunt sent her package off, but it arrived today from FedEx. Nice surprise. Had a birthday gift for DS in it and a gift card for DH and I. :goodvibes

Wow! I ordered stuff Saturday night from different places. I did the 2 day shipping thing but didnt really expect either one to get here. One was shipped Fed Ex, one UPS. The Fed Ex one was split into two orders coming from 2 different places. EVERYTHING got here by 4:30 yesterday. I was thrilled! :cool1:

We got a delivery this morning on Christmas. My son is happy because it was something he ordered for himself.

Fedex shipping is more air based, while UPS is more ground based. There's no doubt the weather is making the difference.

I would have been happy I could go get it at the Fedex station only 30 miles away :)
UPS would have told me to wait 2 days then pick it up at their depot 1.5 hours away (I wouldn't mind the drive if I lived out in the boonies, but I live in a major urban centre!). Despie me asking to hold it at the depot, since I'm never at home, they would continue to make delivery attempts and then send the package back to the sender :headache: .

Oh it gets even better. Mine now says on a truck for delivery- when I called fed ex asking when that might mean and how disappointed I was with the service= the guy hung up on me!
Fed ex will never be my choice in the future. I would have gotten my stuff faster with the pony express.

How is it Amazons fault? Once it leave their order processing facility and is handed over to the shipper it's out of their hands.

I have a package coming via FedEx, it was supposed to be delivered on the 23, then it said the 24th, now it doesn't have a date for delivery at all and it left Portland, OR early in the morning on the 24th - it's a 4 hour drive from Portland to Seattle. It hasn't been checked in. :confused3

I would make sure the retailer/vendor knows how dissatisfied you are with their shipper. Is it too late to refuse delivery and get your money back? At this point, with all the sales maybe you can find your item/s at a brick&mortar store for a better price.

agnes!

When something is sent by FED EX. No matter what the destination is, the item goes to the FED EX sorting facility in Memphis Tennessee. So if you are sending something out from Maine to Los Angeles, it will be sent to Memphis and then leave Memphis for LA.
Fed Ex is usually very dependable. Ask any UPS employee. If they are honest, they will tell you that UPS fees are generally higher and the delivery service longer than Fed EX.

Mine left Ohio on the 17th. It is now lost in the FedEx system and they're trying to find it. This is not the first time I've had a problem with FedEx, UPS however has always been pretty good about stuff and actually getting it to me on time or at all.

i know everyone's pain. i sent a Christmas card with a disney gift card in it by usps priority mail almost 3 weeks ago, and no one knows where it is. i've called the postal service, postal service consumer affairs, my post office, the receiver's post office, and my local postal service consumer affairs office. i guess i'll be filing a claim in 30 days, b/c no one can or will help me.
