Aug. use year sold out at VWL?

DH just surprised me with an offer to buy a few more points (already) at VWL, which is where we own. But I hear that some use years are already sold out. If our use year is sold out (he only offered to add on 25 points, but Hey, it's something!), is it a planning nightmare to have that small an add-on be a different use year? And what if we add on that amount at a different resort? What would be the advantages and disadvantages if we can't add on the same use year at the same location?

As of about 10 days ago (the Friday before last) there were points available w/an August use year. I know because that is our use year, and we just added on at VWL the Friday before last Good luck w/your add on!

I just called yesterday & added 200 points. My use year is Aug also. Our guide said we could add on as many as we wanted.

Hi there,

This thread is strange as I have just received my August use year add on paperwork today from DVC. The August use year was available as of the last time I asked last week.

The good thing about an add on at VWL opposed to BCV, is that you get 2001 points with VWL.

We love the look of BCV and have planned a week stay there starting early July and then 6 nights at VWL "our home".

It is technically not allowed to add-on a different use year. If you purchase an add-on in a different use year, it requires a minimum 150 point purchase and comes with a new membership number. Essentially you would be purchashing a new membership. Doc could correct me if I'm wrong....But I think this is accurate.
