We are planning to visit WDW in either August or September of this year. August works better into our schedule, but if the lines will be significantly longer during that month, we are willing to push our trip until September. What do you think? Are we going to run into much longer lines in Aug than Sept due to the fact that most people are on vacation in the summer months?

well, we were talking about it in class this morning, and not only are the lines longer, it rains more.....August is one of Orlando's busiest months, compared to September being a VERY slow month...

The second half of August is not busy. We were there last year then. It wasn't as slow as September, but it wasn't bad at all since it is off-peak season and many schools in country are back in session.

Weather wise...either month you'll probably deal with rain. From our experience though September has been worse, since it's "peak" hurricane season we tend to get more tropical systems then that linger for days at a time (sometimes you can get lucky and miss them)...but August usually brings the afternoon storms, sometimes they do linger a bit, but not usually into the next day like they do in September.

We normally go in September and LOVE it!!! No crowds and the weather is great

Hi
we were there last week in Aug 2002w our DD and DS. lines short ,weather hot ,rain did not get in our way at all as it was sporadic (and warm). It was sprinkling one morning and we rode splash mountain 3X w/out getting off(CM's just said want to ride again??) and we stayed on.

A friend of mine (w/no kids) went w/ her DH in October and they had an unusually hot week. Lines were short she said but it was hotter in Oct then when we went. I say go when it best fits in your schedule.:)

We have been in both months, several times each and September wins big time in our book...
