totally in love with Alli's Bag, it is fabulous.

Your creativity is so inspiring.

The pictures from the lake are great. I love your new haircut, I hadn't seen it yet. The family one is really nice. Glad you had a nice time at the lake.

:faint: :worship: Alli's bag is truly amazing. I saw it on my phone but had to come to my computer to see it in full detail. WOW! The facial details are so detailed. I love the colors of the bag too. Simply stunning.

The pictures of the girls are so cute. I can see Duffy on Mickey's bed in the background. I really thought that was a "new" story but I guess Duffy has been in Mickey's life for a while. The one with Mickey at AK is adorable :)

Thanks for asking D~ - Kat is in the rehab hospital and seems to be making great progress. She can walk a little, is moving her arm and is gaining new words every day - not always appropriately, but getting that connection in her brain working is more important. She got up from her wheelchair the other day without assistance and was able to stand on her own 2 feet. Being in Baltimore, her friends have been able to visit more and her best friend has been there constantly. They apparently have taken to having wheelchair races down the hallway.
This is good to hear.

So glad you took the time off and had a good time at the lake. I can see why you wanted to take your machines. I would have had a very hard time leaving that behind almost finished. What an unbelievable amazing bag. Can't wait to see the rest.....

Hope you have a great week ~ Jane

What a great time you guys had at the lake!!

Love all the past trip pictures! The girls all look so cute and young!! They do grw up way to fast!

Love Alli's new bag!! Turned out awesome!!!

We got home yesterday from my parent's house in Oregon and had a great time with the family!

Alli's new bag is absolutely STUNNING. I will admit that Up is just an okay movie for me...definitely not a favorite. BUT....OMG....I will say it again....OMG...what an AWESOME bag. I would totally carry that bag...PROUDLY!!! It is amazing. Your attention to detail on the appliques is fantastic. You are so creative and talented! Great work yet again!

WOW!!!!! LOVE Alli's bag! Love all the fabrics including the lining fabric. The appliqués are stunning! You've set the bar pretty high for yours and V's bags!

Thanks Bernadette! Yah... I've been stumped on V's bag for a while now... I know the theme, but it just isn't coming together in my head like I wanted it to. I was going to start cutting it out and quilting it yesterday, but the fabric I'd ordered just wasn't "doing it" for me... So, as a last minute decision, I ordered different fabric for her bag... :crazy2: I sure hope that this is "it".

Ok I make dog clothes and stuff. But that is the cutest bag I have ever seen!! Do you have a website for your bags? You could be the next vera Bradley I swear.....

Awww... Thanks! I do all of my selling from my facebook fan page... I think I sent you a link yesterday?

This is a great update Tess! I am so happy that she has friends and family surrounding her... I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I will say it AGAIN! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the up inspired bag!!! so how long (INCLUDING the cutting out etc) did the entire bag take to make? i can only imagine...

Well... I was doing it in chunks of time... The original front applique I drew, cut out and pieced back in May... That was about 5 hours just for that. Then the cutting and quilting took about 8 hours (which is an average time for me to cut and quilt a bag)... Drawing, cutting and piecing the other 2 appliques was about 6 hours. The words were 4 hours. And the final assembly was 8 hours... Sooo... 31 hours + the 26 hours for the applique stitching = 57 hours. Much too long for a bag, IMO... I would never be able to sell this one, because I would never ever be able to recoup the cost for all my time. And to be honest - I would never even consider making something this laborous for anyone else, other than my girls. LIke I said - it was truly a labor of love.

there is so much to say! your get away to the lake is so awesome!!! the picture with MM and the stick had me cracking up!!!
OH and Josh the photo bomber!!! What a riot!!! just shows how much fun you had!!! and of course i love the sweatshirts.

Thanks! Yes, I love my family very much - they continualy crack me up. I have to laugh at Alli - because I think she is just the funniest person in the world... So she will go to school and be funny like she is with me, and all her friends just give her blank stares... Poor kid - maybe we just have a weird sense of humor??? :confused3

Hi Jane... I was thinking of you yesterday - I hadn't seen you in a few days. :) LOL - yah - I was dying to get to work on Alli's bag the moment we got home... I was just so happy to get it finished!

LOL... I totally get it... Up is not my favorite movie either - but that beginning part - I just love. This was a super fun bag to make!

**********************************************************

Going to try to make this quick, since we are getting a pretty heavy storm right now - and I don't want to lose my replies... So, I think I will just post what I have above and do an update in a seperate post, before I lose power.

D~

So, yesterday I got started on my next custom order... I was able to cut out and quilt it. Yay!

I was planning to cut out V's trip bag yesterday... When I was done with my custom order for the day, I had her come upstairs and help me decide which fabrics she wanted. After looking through all of our options, we made an executive decision to order different fabric... Because - we all know - V's must be as wonderful as Alli's. Nothing I had planned on using was doing it for us. :confused3

I couldn't afford to waste a few hours doing nothing, because I have so much to get done yet before our trip. So, I cut out one of my trip bags, and I prepped it for quilting. So, I will be working on my trip bag until her fabric comes, then I will set mine aside and work on her's.

I have one of my trip days that I desperatly trying to iron out...

It is our first full park day after we arrive, this is our MK day... It is a day that has given me trouble since the very beginning.

Here's the run-down...

MK 9am - 11pm

We plan to be at the park for rope drop.

11:30 ADR at LTT

4:10 ADR at CRT

8pm Wishes Dessert Party

This is what I am thinking...

We are not planning to go back to our resort to rest on this day. Instead, Suzi was gracious enough to let us go to her resort and hang out with her for a couple of hours, so we can get out of the heat for a little bit.

NO we will not be using the Poly pool, just so we are crystal clear on that from the beginning.

However, I do want to bring a change of clothes and shoes with us - because I am sure it will be hot, and we will want to change clothes and shoes for our evening touring.

So, I am thinking of packing a back pack for this day. It will have a change of clothes for all of us, and a change of shoes/socks.

I am considering renting a locker (this is something I have never done before) and storing our backpack in the locker as soon as we get to MK. I was planning to rescue it when we leave for the afternoon. Will I be able to leave the locker EMPTY while we are with Suzi and reclaim the same locker when we return to the MK to store our backpack again? I guess I am not really sure how the lockers work... Will I have to pay for it each time I open it? Or is it a daily rental?

Has anyone ever done anything like this? How did it work out for you?

My biggest fear is that we will leave our stuff in our locker and forget about it at the end of the night.

Ok - so here's your vintage photo of the day...

This was our VERY FIRST character photo EVER... And believe it or not - it was Alli who was afraid of the characters... She refused to get anywhere near them. :rotfl2:

Have a wonderful day everyone... Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone in need.

Well, you have to admit that Cap'n Hook is a pretty scary looking guy! My younger ds, Andrew was terrified of Santa Claus and didn't ever want to have anything to do with him. I think I have one picture of him when he was either 1 or 2 sitting on his lap getting ready to burst out in tears. Never did that again. Maybe it was the stories we told about Santa bringing him (he was born on Christmas) and he thought Santa would take him back - lol:rolleyes1

We rented a locker just last week at Blizzard Beach. It is a daily rental so as long as you don't turn in the key when you leave for your afternoon break it will be yours. We were also told that if you keep your receipt after you turn in your key you can get a rental again for the same day anywhere in WDW without paying the $5.

Just found out that Kat is back at Walter Reed for the heart procedure. This is a good thing, but please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks.

I saw the pictures of Alli's bag on FB and they were amazing. The pictures here are so much more telling: the different fabrics, the modeling and the happy model herself!

Up is one of DH & my teary movies. Aside from the meeting in childhood & kind of reverse the personalities, we have gone through a lot of the same things they did in their lives. I showed DH the pictures and I think his response was something along the lines of "WOW. She's got an amazing talent." :rotfl:

We have never used a locker and I don't think we will. As long as we have belts and shoulders, that is.

I am completely in sinc with your planning. It just hit me, that it was July and we have just over two months before we go. I need to get cracking with just planning clothing! and budgeting!

Prayers as always to those who need them - even if they may not realize it.

Wow, just wow. :worship:

I remember thinking once Jonah was here I would have all this free time to pick up sewing again. I honestly thought newborns just slept all day and woke up every once in awhile to eat for a few minutes. :lmao: Your bags are very inspiring though. :)

Yes yes yes....you are more than welcome to hang with us at the Poly. I thought about renting a cabana, but they are expensive! Plus, you will want to see the room and hang out in the AC for a bit, then walk around and soak up the wonderful Poly atmosphere. Maybe get a Dole Whip at Captain Cooks. And....now that they are changing the refillable mug rules...you can bring your mugs and have free drinks too.

Looks like (from AllEars) that the locker rentals are all day. So as long as you don't turn your key in until the end of the day, you will have that same locker. Afterall...how will they know it is empty? But if it works out, you can drop your stuff off at the Poly that morning and it can live in our room for the day. Whatever works.

FWIW I wouldn't hold the key, if you lose it you will have a problem Just keep the receipt like someone else said and get another locker when you come back to MK there are a ton of lockers there so you'll get another one when you get back no problem :thumbsup2

quick response...

Hey, those villians can be very scary. Of course my sweet little girl LOVED them. :confused3 When she was about 3 she told Hook he was a "codfish". He cried & Smee had to console him. DD went up and gave him a hug, which made him happy. :)

D~ hope to "bump into you" on the day you are struggling with. :)

IamQueen - Happy Kat is going forward. She will remain in my prayers.
