What a great shopping you did last night. Todays shopping trip with your friend sounds like fun. Hope you get the things that you have on your list.
I only by Christmas gift for a few people. I don't buy gifts to family that I never see or hear from. I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet. I'm going to make a few home made gifts (I do it every year) and I'm going to buy gifts for some. I'm making roasted almonds and I'm decorating some candles.
Thanks! I did pretty good yesterday... I got a few items for Josh, a few stocking stuffers for the girls (which they totally didn't need), and a few other gifts for others... I am really almost done now. I still have 2 GCs to get, and one gift.
I wish I had the time to make home made gifts for some people. Next year, I really want to make Josh's brother and his wife a set of Christmas stockings. There is no way I would get them done in time this year, I wish I would have thought of it sooner.
I'm so far behind on all my subscriptions. Bummer you had to work Black Friday, but I bet time passed by quickly. My son had to work, but dh took the week off since his parents were visiting us.
Glad to see you caught up... I got your text yesterday - trying to pinpoint where you took the photo at... I was thinking Epcot?
Glad you are able to spend some time with DH over Thanksgiving.
The stocking for Max is so cute! And those pies...yes please!

Thanks for the mashed potatoes recipe, I'll have to try that some time. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving! The only glitch in mine was when my Mom was trying to make the gravy and she totally messed it up. Beyond saving. As her Alzheimers progresses, she's has trouble following recipes...even the ones in her head, and lots of other things, but she was sure she could do the gravy . It was so sad and I was so sorry I asked her to do that. She always wants to help so I thought that would be a safe thing for her.

I couldn't care less about not having gravy, it was just the look on her face when she didn't know how to fix it.
Oh Lois - I am so sorry. It's not easy when someone with Alzheimers starts to forget how to do things they once knew how to do. Josh's Grandmother suffered from Alzheimers and it is such a devistating illness.
I loved working BF that one season I worked for Kohl's! I've never had a day fly by like that. Ever. I started at 4AM and worked 8 hours. Tons of fun. Glad you didn't have too many nasty people. There are always a few, unfortunately. Glad you scored so many things you wanted. I didn't shop this year, but spent time with my family while I could. My daughter and her family just left this morning and my son and his wife will be leaving tomorrow. We've been playing lots of games and watching Christmas movies. Lol about GWTW! Can't believe you've never seen it! It is looooong! But it's good. If you get a chance to watch Dear Santa, that's one of my latest favorites. It was new last year and I really like it, even though it's predictable. Aren't they all?
I agree, BF is my favorite day of the year to work... and honestly - I love working through out the Christmas season - it's that horrible lull after Christmas - that seems to drag on for months, that I hate.
I am so happy that you were able to spend some time with your family. I will look for that movie - I just LOVE Christmas movies!
Your shopping trip sounds fun. I guess that's what you're doing as I type this. Hope you have a great time and find lots of good bargains. Only 30 days until Christmas!
I did have a great time! Not a ton of bargains, but everything I purchased was a pretty good deal.
Have a fun shopping day! Hope you find all you want ! Cold here too! I guess winter has come!
Thank you Ruth! I've been thinking of you. I know you go back to work soon.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Thanks for the positive thoughts and prayers. We won't know exactly what's going on with dh's health for another 10 or 12 days. It is hard to wait.
I can't imagine how hard it must be on all of you to wait.

Do the kids know yet? Or are you waiting to tell them until you know more?
I love the pj pants. Were they part of the Black Friday deals or just an awesome find???? My kids love those fuzzy pj pants and I give them pjs and slippers every year for one night of Chanukah gifts. it is a tradition.
They were on sale for BF, but I don't think that they were limited time thing? I've never had the really fuzzy ones like this before, I hope they aren't too hot.
It is funny that you put the camera back because it took AA batteries. I actually prefer that over the LithIon batteries. I buy the long lasting camera batteries and I love that I don't have to recharge them. I can just throw a couple of new batteries in the camera and keep taking pictures. I did buy my girls a camera for one of their gifts. I got an awesome deal on a GE point and shoot with a 15x zoom lens. It got decent reviews on-line and the price just couldn't be beat!
There are people that definately have an opinion, and most people either go one way or the other for the batteries. The only reason I prefer LithIon batteries is that I never have to purchase AAs... I just keep recharging. I alway purchase a second LithIon battery when I get a new camera - so I can have one charging and one in the camera. With my current camera - I actually have 3 batteries, because I purchased a 3rd before our last Disney trip.
I have not tried the long lasting camera batteries before... How long do they normally last? I can usually get about 200 photos out of my LithIons before I need to recharge... However, If I leave it powered on after I finish uploading the the pc

Well, I don't get quite as many.
I hope you are having fun on your big shopping day and that you get lots of great stuff! I love having a girls' day with my friends and going shopping all day long.
Thank you - I did have a lot of fun! I have another one coming up (it was short notice) on Tuesday at the MOA... My aunt and cousin and I are meeting up for our annual shopping day. Since I don't have much more to purchase - I am mostly going for lunch.

Glad Black Friday wasn't too bad. I only went to Joanne and though it was mobbed they had so many people working I didn't have to wait too long.
But I did do alot of shopping online and I have to say I love my REDcard. I just signed up for it the other day and love getting the free shipping on everything.
I didn't touch Joanne's - I've been doing my best to stay away from there.
I love online shopping... It is just the best.

Especially if the retailer takes Paypal, it just makes my life so much easier.
I love my Red check card too - that extra 5% savings is awesome!
Looks like you got alot done on BF. Those PJ pants are too cute. I get my kids pj's every year for Christmas and let them open them on Christmas eve. Than they are wearing their new PJ's on Christmas day when they open their presents. It's a tradion from when I was a kid.
I am hoping that Liddy comes back soon also. I know there is a possiblility that she will be able to go this next year after all s hopefully she will come back when that is definate. As for me I me I am getting really excited because I get to make ADR's on Tuesday. WooHoo.
I ventured out on thursday night to Walmart (had a toy that Liam really wants for almost half off). It was absolutly nuts there. I witnessed a man scream obsenities at a worker just because she asked him not to go through an area that was ropped off. Not cool. Glad you didn't ave anyone yelling swear words at you.
I love your PJ holiday tradition. I've never done anything like that with the girls. However, they do get PJs every year - so I could have.
I am also excited that Liddy might be able to go back. I'll bet your are excited for your ADRs!
I hope you were able to get Liam's toy despite the madness. Yah - that's not cool - some people are just rude and vicious.
I got those same PJ pants because they had goofy on them! They were $15 (I think)
~Jennifer
They are so cute! Aren't they? Yah - I love that they had Goofy on them, I debated on getting the same ones for V - but I wasn't sure how she would feel about having matching PJ pants? I think at regular price they are $15.

Kristin and I had a great time yesterday... We left at promptly 7:30am... Our first stop was Caribou for some amazing coffee and a breakfast sandwich.
We did a few stores where I grabbed a couple of stocking stuffers for Josh and the girls (seriously, the girls need NOTHING else, yet I keep seeing cute little things for them - I need to STOP!)...
We also stopped at the dollar store, where I got a few things to organize thread in my sewing room... This would be my sewing thread and not my embroidery thread.
We stopped at the Lands End outlet... We both agreed that last year was much better - there was definately more to choose from. However, I did manage to find a nice work shirt for Josh and I found a fleece vest and a shirt to go under it for myself to wear for Christmas... My total for those 3 items was $36, which I didn't think was too bad.
I purchased a couple of gifts at Target...
We stopped at Hallmark for wrapping paper... I am going to return the wrapping paper I purchased at Target the other day. Target's was $5 for a 25 sq ft. roll... And Hallmark was $7.99 (BOGO for $1.00 - so $4.50/roll) for 90 sq ft. And I love Hallmark paper!
We treated ourselves to Red Lobster for lunch... I dunno..

I am not as huge on sea food as I used to be. And even though I ordered lobster - it just wasnt that good this time. Although - I did order crab, and after my fiasco at Cape May Buffet - I am very happy to report that this series of crab cracking went much better... I only had one episode where my crab shell fragments went flying.
We hit Barnes and Noble, so I could purchase the last of my books for gifting.
We arrived home just at dusk (which now a days is about 4pm).
After we got home, Kristin had given me some ideas for Josh's dad for Christmas gifts - he stumps us badly every year - so I bounced them off of Josh, and he thought they were great! So, we got the ball rolling with that, and ordered the part that will take the longest to arrive, and we will order that other part next week. Super happy to have his dad crossed off the list - because we had NO idea what to get him.
Dinner last night was a free for all with another round of Thanksgiving leftovers. I wasn't hungry - so I just had some of Josh's pecan pie for dessert later.
We had so much fun and I am so happy to report that I am almost done shopping. Just a few minor things to buy, and a couple of GCs.
Today, we will be putting up the tree. Normally we cut our own, however, Josh's back has been bothering him for several weeks - so, I think we are going to the next town over and supporting the boy scouts this year.

We purchased from them last year too - and we were very happy with our tree.
Of course - putting up the tree means dragging all the holiday bins up from the basement...

And also keeping MM out of the way...
Speaking of MM - the girls were telling me that yesterday there were some kids sledding on the hill across the street (which isn't good because a: there is no snow to sled on and b: there's a busy road at the bottom of the hill) - but MM saw them... The girls said he was standing on his hind legs for about 10 seconds just watching them. LOL He spends a lot of time in his hind legs lately, because the girls taught him how to "hug" a few weeks ago - so it's kind of funny that he would just stand up and balance there for so long.
Anyways - I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families today, and those of you traveling have a safe journey.
D~
