~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

I had a pretty good day at work yesterday.

I left about an hour early for my shift - so I could catch any deals that were left. My main objective was Brave for $10... Which I did get. :thumbsup2 I was kind of shocked that we had any left at all.

I also grabbed a couple of stocking stuffers for the girls and a couple of movies. Then, the other night, I was chatting with V in her room, and she told me that her DVD player hasn't been working for months. So, I grabbed one of the $19.99 Black Friday DVD players for her for Christmas. I also grabbed one of the $60 Itunes card packs that were on sale for $50 (I wasn't planning on getting one of those, because we never have any left that late in the day).

Then I grabbed some wrapping paper. I am ususally a wrapping paper snob, and normally only buy Hallmark paper - but I haven't purchased any in the last few years (and Kohls stopped selling it years ago - I used to be able to get it really cheap there after Christmas)... So, I decided to try some of Target's "premium paper" - to see if I can make the swtich.

And finally, I was really done shopping, then I happened upon the jammie section, and I couldn't resist getting the girls and I some cute Disney jammie pants... V is getting Minnie, A is getting Mickey and I found a pair that actually had Donald on them! WHOOT! I couldn't believe it - I would rather have a pair of real Donald jammie pants - but this will do for now. I've been looking for over 3 years!

FB_IMG_13536708484519001.jpg

And I think that was the extent of my BF shopping.

I had a few crabby people - mostly people who wanted us to ad match for BF - but Target made the decision that they wouldn't do that (and they haven't done it for BF in the past)... Lots of people angry that we were out of the TVs/Ipods/Ipads that were in the BF ad... C'mon people, It's noon on BF and we opened at 9pm the night before, do you really expect these things to still be here???? However, I was quite shocked that when I left at 2:30pm, we still had about 10+ of the $99 Nikon cameras left... I actually had one in my hands for myself, at one point, and then I remembered that they take AA batteries, and that's a deal breaker for me, I won't touch a camera that doesn't take LithIon batteries. Such a bummer, because it was a good deal - that camera had an awesome optical zoom.

Today, my next door neighbor and I are doing our annual Christmas shopping trip. We do this almost every year, and we have a lot of fun. No kids allowed! :cool1: We leave early in the morning, and typically, we are gone ALL DAY! I really need to get in the shower shortly, because we are leaving at 7:30am. We always go out for a nice lunch/dinner... It's just a lot of fun. I am so fortunate to have such good IRL friends too!

I got my list all gathered last night, and I am actually very impressed with myself... I only have about 5 more people to shop for, and a couple of GCs to get yet, then I am totally done with Christmas shopping. Josh and I made the decision to take a couple of people off of our list this year - just because it was getting to be too much - and these are people that we have not seen or heard from in a couple of years - even if they are family.

At what point do you stop giving gifts to people? Just curious what opinions others have.

Tomorrow, we will be going to chop down our Christmas tree - this should be a fun year with MM. Josh said that when he was letting him outside yesterday morning - he was having a fit... He had never seen snow before... LOL I wish I could have been here for that. Josh said MM was sitting on the edge of our back deck just barking at the snow blowing off of our roof. :rotfl2:

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend! :thumbsup2

D~

Glad that you were able to get what you were looking for. I was actually surprised that our Target still had a couple of the 40" TV and 32" TV that were on sale for Black Friday. I ended up not going until about 3 pm on Friday. I was also able to pick up a few movie's that I've been wanting but we were sold out of Brave when I went.

Those are some cute pants!! I didn't see any of those at our store!! But I did get a couple pairs of pj's for me, the Princess Kitchen for $50 for my DD (couldn't believe they still had 3 of them left when I got there), Elf on the Shelf (he's joined our family this year and the kids already love it!!) and a few other toys for the kids. Pretty good shopping day.

Kristin and I had a great time yesterday... We left at promptly 7:30am... Our first stop was Caribou for some amazing coffee and a breakfast sandwich.

We did a few stores where I grabbed a couple of stocking stuffers for Josh and the girls (seriously, the girls need NOTHING else, yet I keep seeing cute little things for them - I need to STOP!)...

We also stopped at the dollar store, where I got a few things to organize thread in my sewing room... This would be my sewing thread and not my embroidery thread. :thumbsup2

We stopped at the Lands End outlet... We both agreed that last year was much better - there was definately more to choose from. However, I did manage to find a nice work shirt for Josh and I found a fleece vest and a shirt to go under it for myself to wear for Christmas... My total for those 3 items was $36, which I didn't think was too bad.

I purchased a couple of gifts at Target...

We stopped at Hallmark for wrapping paper... I am going to return the wrapping paper I purchased at Target the other day. Target's was $5 for a 25 sq ft. roll... And Hallmark was $7.99 (BOGO for $1.00 - so $4.50/roll) for 90 sq ft. And I love Hallmark paper!

We treated ourselves to Red Lobster for lunch... I dunno.. :confused3 I am not as huge on sea food as I used to be. And even though I ordered lobster - it just wasnt that good this time. Although - I did order crab, and after my fiasco at Cape May Buffet - I am very happy to report that this series of crab cracking went much better... I only had one episode where my crab shell fragments went flying. :woohoo:

We hit Barnes and Noble, so I could purchase the last of my books for gifting.

We arrived home just at dusk (which now a days is about 4pm).

After we got home, Kristin had given me some ideas for Josh's dad for Christmas gifts - he stumps us badly every year - so I bounced them off of Josh, and he thought they were great! So, we got the ball rolling with that, and ordered the part that will take the longest to arrive, and we will order that other part next week. Super happy to have his dad crossed off the list - because we had NO idea what to get him. :thumbsup2

Dinner last night was a free for all with another round of Thanksgiving leftovers. I wasn't hungry - so I just had some of Josh's pecan pie for dessert later.

We had so much fun and I am so happy to report that I am almost done shopping. Just a few minor things to buy, and a couple of GCs. :beach:

Today, we will be putting up the tree. Normally we cut our own, however, Josh's back has been bothering him for several weeks - so, I think we are going to the next town over and supporting the boy scouts this year. :thumbsup2 We purchased from them last year too - and we were very happy with our tree.

Of course - putting up the tree means dragging all the holiday bins up from the basement... And also keeping MM out of the way...

Speaking of MM - the girls were telling me that yesterday there were some kids sledding on the hill across the street (which isn't good because a: there is no snow to sled on and b: there's a busy road at the bottom of the hill) - but MM saw them... The girls said he was standing on his hind legs for about 10 seconds just watching them. LOL He spends a lot of time in his hind legs lately, because the girls taught him how to "hug" a few weeks ago - so it's kind of funny that he would just stand up and balance there for so long. :rotfl2:

Anyways - I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families today, and those of you traveling have a safe journey.

D~

Also a successful day when your able to score some good deals and cross people off your list!!! Now I have to buy for my nieces and nephew's which I kind of slacked on getting their lists until today. So now to start looking at the ad's and figure out the best place to get whatever I decide to get them.

Wow D! I am so jealous that you are almost done Christmas shopping. I have barely started. I am the same way with stocking stuffers especially for my DD. The boys are not as easy but I always find way too much cute girl stuff!

I know Christmas will be here soon. Perhaps I will venture out today when we get home and try to put a dent in my shopping but I have no ideas for anyone INCLUDING the kids. We are still on the train on our journey home but should be home before lunch. Can't wait to see all of our furbabies again! Amazing how much I miss them. Enjoy your day!

Yah - I just wish I could be done with the girls... I need to stop impulse buying for them. I think I will lay everything out this week, to insure it's "even", and I will return as necessary.

I hope your trip home was a good one and you are all feeling better.

So jealous you are almost done shopping.

I think we may put the tree up today also.

Did you get your tree up?

Glad you had a good time shopping as well as a productive one. I went to Target Friday evening because I needed milk and managed to find a few things I wanted for Christmas. I totally forgot to check out the jammies! I was so bummed when I got home and remembered. I wanted a new set to wear at Disney (in 3 days!!!:yay:).

I can't believe your trip is so close!!! AWESOME!!!

I know what you mean about finding things and not being able to resist. Every year I say I'm cutting back, and every year I can't seem to stop myself from picking up "just one more thing" for everyone. Especially the grandkids!

I can only imagine it will get worse with Grandkids...

Now that Thanksgiving is over, I can concentrate on our upcoming trip. Dan is bringing up the tree today and I may get it decorated today as well. And I'm hoping to get my Christmas cards addressed today, so that's out of the way. Hope you have a fun shopping trip when you go to the MOA. There has been many times I've gone "shopping" just to go to lunch!:rolleyes1 Enjoy!

I hope you were able to get everything done... I can't imagine the madness that comes with a holiday trip - as much as I want to go at that time, it would be such a crazy time to go.

sounds like a great shopping trip was had! hope MM behaves with the tree and decorations!

we finished decorating the house yesterday, my cards are ready to go, all presents that I've bought are wrapped and under the tree....just have to figure out for my FIL and still have my BFF 2 boys to buy for....it feels wonderful to have most of my stuff done so I can just relax and enjoy the season! we have stuff going on every Sat from here on out

That is awesome - I am glad you got everything done!

I know - our weekends are crazy from here on out too.

what to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon & a day off from work Clean the house or catch up on about 9 pages of this ptr No brainer can't wait to catch up :goodvibes D I sent you a PM when you have time sorry kind of long Ok off to read Ruthie

Hi Ruthie - I am glad you had time to catch up - thankfully my PTR has been quite slow lately - probably because there hasn't been much PTRing going on. :confused3

I will try to answer your PM today - I have kind of a weird schedule. Otherwise tomorrow. :lovestruc

thats' so funny I hardly ever meet another 'Ruth' and now D has 3 ofus following her on Dis !I don't care for the name personally and only go by Ruthie even though I love the bible book that bears our name

Whoot!!! THREE Ruths - on my PTR no less... Any other Ruths out there that want to join in?

Glad that you were able to get what you were looking for. I was actually surprised that our Target still had a couple of the 40" TV and 32" TV that were on sale for Black Friday. I ended up not going until about 3 pm on Friday. I was also able to pick up a few movie's that I've been wanting but we were sold out of Brave when I went.

Bummer about not getting Brave... It was a good movie - but I still think that Tangled is my all time favorite... Brave probably hit my top 5.

Thanks! They were in the Jammie section. Love the Elf on a Shelf - that is something that didn't get popular until my girls were too old. Would have loved to do something like that... Who knows, maybe I still will? Glad you had a good shopping day.

**********************************************************

Yesterday was such a nice day here - a bit cold, but nice and sunny.

I started off in my sewing room for a few hours... I wanted to get a head start on my next bag, seeing as it is quite detailed. Looking ahead at my week - I have 2 days off of my sewing room - so the 3 days I have in there will have to be maximized. I know already that I will be finishing up into the weekend. Which is OK. Just glad I have a head start.

After lunch, we headed out to pick out our tree. Last year, we purchased from the boy scouts. We were going to do that again this year - but we have a tree farm so close to us (less than 10 miles) - and we like to utilize local businesses as much as possible. After stomping around in the wind for about an hour - we finally found a tree worthy of our family. But it wasn't easy.

20121125_124140.jpg

After I took the required photos, Josh started cutting...

20121125_124149.jpg

We did have fun at the tree farm though... We took the Jeep and a trailer, rather than the pick-up... And the tree farm was just like off roading - LOL, so we were bouncing all over. It was quite humorous.

On the way home, we decided that we will be buying from the boy scouts for the next couple of years. The tree farm is getting very picked over, and it's really getting harder and harder to find any trees that aren't short/or bare. The tree we found is quite short - but we don't have very tall ceilings, so we don't need a very tall one. And it's even hard for us to find one - so I can't imagine what others do?

So, when we got home, Josh started setting it up, and he realized that our old tree stand was cracked... So, off to the hardware store to get a new one. I like the new one much better - it's so much smaller than our old one. :thumbsup2

Once Josh's job of getting it straight and setting up the lights was done, the girls hung a few select ornaments on the top half of the tree. We decided to leave the bottom half bare, and an MM precaution. We don't have a beautiful tree - we have a sentimental one... Each ornament was a gift from someone representing something. :lovestruc Except a few glass balls, of course.

20121125_194442.jpg

And, so far, MM doesn't really pay any attention to it. :confused3

**********************************************************

Today will be a crazy day for me... Alli has a dentist appt. at 11... So I have to run to town in the middle of my day, pick her up from school, wait at the dentist's office for her, and give her a ride back to school.

Then she has to stay after for a project - so I will have to go back to town at 3:30 to give her a ride home. :headache:

Clearly, my day in my sewing room will be staggared, at best.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, and those of you traveling had a safe trip home. :lovestruc

D~

I love your tree! Ours is not ever fancy either. I let the kids decorate it and all the ornaments are sentimental as well. We have a few lone balls and things left that were purchased at K-Mart the first year we were married, but the rest are ornaments we have purchased for specific reasons throughout the years. It's just more special that way, isn't it? :cloud9:

We will be putting our tree up next weekend. :thumbsup2

I love that you still go and cut your own tree! We did that until two years ago when DH said enough! We have such great memories of our forays into the various tree farms! Good stuff! I also love that you left the lower branches bare. I'm surprised MM hasn't paid any attention, but that's a good thing.

I did not get the tree decorated or the cards addressed, but I did go shopping, so the day wasn't a total loss. I also did some cyber shopping, which takes time. But I'm in pretty good shape for our trip. I'm doing laundry now and will finish packing today except for essentials. Just got back from the dentist and plan to go out again. THEN I'll start on the tree!

Glad to hear you're starting another bag, can't wait to see it when it's finished. I'll have to really chain myself to the sewing room chair when we get back from Disney in order to get everything done I hope to do. The one saving grace is that we won't see most of our family until January for Christmas, so I have a bit more time to work. Have fun in your sewing room this week!

Nope we didn't get our tree decorated. I didn't even get the decorations out. G needs to bring the ladder upstairs for me since we moved the decorations up into the attic.

My tree is only 5feet on the years we go away so it seriously doesn't take that long.

Maybe sometime this week. I worked on orders instead since I had some energy.

thats' so funny I hardly ever meet another 'Ruth' and now D has 3 ofus following her on Dis !I don't care for the name personally and only go by Ruthie even though I love the bible book that bears our name

LOL - I'm exactly the same about Ruthie; not overly fond of it. When I was a teen, I used to tell people "Ruthie died," when they called me that. I was a kind of dark teenager.

DH got out tree up Friday and Saturday, after shopping with my SisIL and MIL, we put all the decorations on/up. Didn't find too many gifts out shopping, but I did get a great bargain for me.:bitelip:

T's cool with the tree. He was actually more interested in the outdoor lights when we de-tangled them in the living room.

I am so far behind on so many projects...with our refridgerator playing the "guess if I'm working game" this weekend (the freezer completely defrosted Wednesday but miraclously started making Ice Friday:headache:) and taking my mom to urgent care yesterday after a fall (she's sore, but no broken bones - pretty sturdy at 78) I didn't have the energy to wrestle large amounts of fabric.

Can't wait to see your detailed new bag. :woohoo:

Your tree is perfect. I love it!

Our tree is a sentimental one too. When I was a kid, every year my parents bought 5 of the exact same ornament (One for each person...my parents, me and 2 brothers). When my brothers and I grew up and moved out we each got to take one of each of the sets of ornaments. It was our "starter kit" for our own first Christmas tree. Since then my parents have divorced, but my mom and dad both still buy me a new ornament every year. After my aunt (my mom's sister) passed away in 2000 my mom usually gets me an angel and my dad usually gets me a frog (I collect frogs.) My new ornaments are one of my favorite Christmas presents each year.

Our dogs really don't bother our tree...except our little Beagle, Elise. She is notorious for opening the presents! :faint::headache: Last year she ripped open my son's X-Mas Eve gift (new X-Mas PJ's to sleep in) and chewed a hole through the pants. I had to go out and buy him new PJ's like 3 days before Christmas. I swear...if she wasn't such a cute dog... :dog:paw::dog::rolleyes1

Love the tree and the photos of the girls with it!
:goodvibes
I agree that it's nice to use local farmers, our nearby tree farm is getting picked over a bit too but the memories are still worth it!

listening to Christmas musiv and really looking forward
to getting my own tree but as tradition I will wait until
12/15 enjoyed seeing pics of yours though brought back a lot
of memories of going to tree farms when my DDs were home

I'll be MIA after today. We leave tomorrow at 8AM for Disney and will be back Dec 6. Can't wait!:cool1:

I know what you mean about avoiding taking vacation close to the holidays, but the funny thing about going at this time of year is, I tend to be more organized than ever and get things done in a more timely way than if I had no vacation plans. It's the IGAD disease I suffer from: I've Got All Day! So, maybe one day you can plan a trip during the holiday season and surprise yourself with how efficient you become. Not that you're not efficient now. :goodvibes Anyway, don't completely rule out a holiday trip. Just be sure to go before the crazy crowds!!

I got my Christmas cards done and will be decorating the tree today after my eye dr. appt. and a quick (?) trip to Target. I'm mostly packed, just a few things to add. Hope you have a productive week in your sewing room. I'll be anxious to get caught up when I get back. :wave2:

I love it that way... There are so many ornaments that they have made me through out the years that I am afraid to put up because they are so fragile.

I hope you'll post pictures of your tree too.

I love that you still go and cut your own tree! We did that until two years ago when DH said enough! We have such great memories of our forays into the various tree farms! Good stuff! LOL Ruth... I am all confused now... Is it Ruth? Or is it Ruthie? :scratchin

Oh no, our fridge hasn't played any games like that yet - but occasionally it will start to make odd noises - and it's a fairly new fridge. :crazy2:

So sorry about your mom, I am very glad she is OK though - that had to be a scary few moments.

Your tree is perfect. I love it!

Our tree is a sentimental one too. When I was a kid, every year my parents bought 5 of the exact same ornament (One for each person...my parents, me and 2 brothers). I like how your parents divided out the ornaments - that's a great idea.

Rufus never bothered the tree either - until last year... Josh's brother brought Dutch chocolate (which Ruf had never gotten into either), we came home to all of the Dutch chocolate packages opened and a bit eaten from each one. :scared: Suddenly, he developed a taste for forign chocolate... Thankfully he didn't get sick. This year... We will be very careful when Brian's package arrives.

Love the tree and the photos of the girls with it!
:goodvibes
I agree that it's nice to use local farmers, our nearby tree farm is getting picked over a bit too but the memories are still worth it!

Thanks! :) I know, I feel badly that the local tree farms are just getting so picked over. it doesn't even seem like they are planting seedlings? I never see any??? Unless they have another area somewhere that isn't picked over - but it's been the same area year after year.

listening to Christmas musiv and really looking forward
to getting my own tree but as tradition I will wait until

I love Christmas music - it's just my favorite time of the year. How old are your DDs?

**********************************************************

Yesterday was crazy, as promised.

But... I managed to get my whole bag quilted - which is good. That was my goal for yesterday.

Alli's dentist appt went great, no cavities. :thumbsup2

Today, I won't make it into my sewing room at all... As I am meeting up with my Aunt and my Cousin (the same ones I went to the AG sale with this summer) to do our annual Christmas shopping trip to the MOA.

I really have nothing to get - unless I can find one gift for one person. I would like to hit Sears though, for the Lands End section - to see if I can find a white/off white long sleeved tee for myself. I've been trying to figure out what I am wearing for Christmas this year - it sounds like it is going to be a BIG event, since Josh's dad and step-mom will be home and also his uncle and family is coming from Alaska and another from Missouri. I will also try to see if there is anything fun for the girls to wear for Christmas.

I have to leave the MOA by 1:15 though... After Alli's dentist appt yesterday, she showed me her hands. She has psoriasis, and her fingers are just really bad this year. So, I made a Dr. appt for her. I hope her Dr. will just refill her ointment (I suspect the tube she has been using is expired, and that's why it isn't working) - rather than send her to her Dermatologist - he is a dick and we don't like him at all. Even his reviews on Google say he is a dick... So, I feel better that I am not the only one.

Tonight is the last of our turkey leftovers... We are making mini turkey pot pies. Num! Alli doesn't like them though - she says the crust makes her ill. :confused3

And that's all for my boring life today. I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

D~

Your shopping day sounds as if it was quite successful. And I love your tree. I can't remember the last time we had a live tree. Red Lobster, in general, has gone down in quality I have found.

We are going shopping. too. I need some new clothes ;)
:thumbsup2

D~ sounds like your family had a nice Thanksgiving and a busy weekend. I'm glad your BF shift at Target was not too crazy. All your Girls Only shopping trips sound like fun. MM's stocking looks great and I love the "M" on it. Your tree looks very nice - I think last year was the first year I put non-paper ornaments towards the bottom of the tree. Curtis tends to take the ornaments off the tree to look at them.

I have done NO Christmas shopping this year. I'm kind of at a loss for what to get the kids this year. I have no good ideas.

Lois - hope you have a great trip to WDW.

Look at you tree decorated and even have wrapped gifts under! We are so slacking this year lol. We have our tree up and lights on it ha ha.

Yeah for no cavities! Sorry she can't enjoy the turkey pies, although I understand...I can't eat large quantities of turkey because it makes me sick.

So, is your Doctor the dick or the dermatologist the dick? I just got a little confused.

I've got so much to do for Christmas...and what did I do yesterday instead of working on it? Pilates. Well, kind of half pilates until the dog decided he was hungry and came and laid on me.

All these Ruths following you makes me remember a great story from my babysitting days. The boys I sat with regularly were watching Rugrats and one of them turned around and said, "Hey! Tommy doesn't have a babysitter!" The title of the episode was "Ruthless Tommy."

Looking forward to more Christmas excitement and baglike goodies.

Ruth

so if i typ really fast this post should be right

:rolleyes1

good luck at dermatologist...the dick !

I don't think we have every done a fake tree? Maybe later in life? In our old house, the aroma of the live tree filled the house every holiday season. I am not sure why, but in this house, I can never smell it... Kind of annoying. I think it has to do with the fact that our old house had really high ceilings and the whole floor plan was very open - this house, the ceilings are quite low (comparitively) and the livingroom is very closed off from the rest of the house. :confused3

I would have to agree with you about Red Lobster... Although, yesterday at the MOA, we ate at Bubba Gump - and that was VERY good!

Hi Liz! Thank you! LoL about Curtis... My girls still do that.

:I have done NO Christmas shopping this year. I'm kind of at a loss for what to get the kids this year. I have no good ideas.

I wish I could help you out with that... What are their ages again? I always enjoy spending other's $$. :stir:

Look at you tree decorated and even have wrapped gifts under! We are so slacking this year lol. We have our tree up and lights on it ha ha.

LOL - it's not as good as you think... All of the gifts under the tree are from Josh's dad, they left them at the lake for us when they were there this summer. They didn't think they would make it home again for Christmas - so we have had them for months. :thumbsup2

Yeah for no cavities! Sorry she can't enjoy the turkey pies, although I understand...I can't eat large quantities of turkey because it makes me sick.

Yah - we are done with turkey leftovers now... Ate the last of them last night. :woohoo:

So, is your Doctor the dick or the dermatologist the dick? I just got a little confused.

OK - so I read this while I was sitting in the Dr.s office with Alli, and I nearly died! :rotfl2: Our Dr. is very nice - very, very nice. :lovestruc Our dermatologist is the Dick... And yup - she referred us back to the derm, however, I protested and she told me they would find us a different derm - which they did. We go in 2 weeks. :woohoo:

I've got so much to do for Christmas...and what did I do yesterday instead of working on it? Pilates. Well, kind of half pilates until the dog decided he was hungry and came and laid on me.

OMG Ruth... You nearly had me in hysterics yesterday, and again this morning. LOL I can totally see this happening to me. :rolleyes1

All these Ruths following you makes me remember a great story from my babysitting days. The boys I sat with regularly were watching Rugrats and one of them turned around and said, "Hey! Tommy doesn't have a babysitter!" The title of the episode was "Ruthless Tommy."

LOL

Looking forward to more Christmas excitement and baglike goodies.

Ruth

I am hoping to have more bag like goodies this weekend... popcorn::

so if i typ really fast this post should be right
underneath one of the Ruths and this is Ruthie
hopefully D & anyone else interested can then keep the 'players'
straightd

By default, everyone that follows my PTR/TRs are now named Ruth/Ruthie. :wizard: That way, I won't get confused at all.

to answer your question D I have 2 Dds Francine
is 38 & the USMC referred to in my sig & Jenny is 36 what
can I say it was the 1970's

 I hear that a lot - I was born in the 70's, so I don't remember much.

good luck at dermatologist...the dick !

OMG!!! THis had my LOLing too...

**********************************************************

As usual, everything in my life is crazy... I can have the best laid out plans, and they never work out right. :confused3

So, just as I was ready to walk out the door for shopping at the MOA yesterday. Josh calls from work... He forgot both phones, his keys and his laptop. :confused3 Since the hospital is right across the highway/airport from the MOA - he asked kindly if I would drop them off "on my way".... :headache: I am a good wife, I saw it as an adventure. :woohoo:

I wound up at the MOA just at opening, so I got a great parking spot. My philosophy, when going there, is that I park in the same ramp every time, and I drive straight to one of the top floors - I always get a great parking spot.

My Aunt and Cousin were still about 40 miles away...

I took this opportunity to take a picture of the rotunda... They have a light show here that plays approx every 15 minutes. :lovestruc

Also, the part you see in the picture is about 1/8th of the mall... There is another ideantical hallway behind me, and four more of those that create the whole mall, with the theme park in the center.

So, I headed to Sears to check out their Lands End section (if you haven't noticed, I've really been loving LE lately)... They had an amazing sale going on. I managed to snag myself 2 long sleeved tees and a fleece half zip sweatshirt, for more than half off. :woohoo:

Just as I was finishing up, my family texted me that they were there, and told me to meet them at The Disney Store. :lovestruc

Perfect... So, just to give you a little perspective.... Sears is on a corner of the mall... I was on the 2nd floor... TDS is on the first floor, opposite side of the mall... So, I booked it. Only to get there, and find out they wanted Cinnabon for breakfast - which is right outside of Sears... So, we walked all the waaaaaay back... Only to find out that it was so close to lunch - and I had to leave early - so we decided to eat lunch... Which was on the 3rd floor, directly above TDS. :worship: I criss-crossed the MOA 3 times in less than 10 minutes... :stir:

It was a lot of fun though, we had a good time.

Then it was off to Alli's Dr. appt. She had a good appt - everything is normal. :woohoo:

Stopped at the grocery store to get her meds - found out they don't stock them, so they will be there today. :headache:

Which means another trip to town this afternoon.

Fun, fun...

So, I better get up to my sewing room and get something done today while I can.

Have a great day all!

D~

Sounds like a busy day. Although we've been to Rochester, Minnesota three times, we never found the time to drive to MOA. :sad2:

You are one busy lady! As the third Ruth I also have three kids born in the 70s. Carrie (40), Jason(37) and Jeremy ( Jody 34). Yes names from that era! I also have a bonus baby Emily (20) away at school. We Ruth's are busy! Have a great day!

sounds like you have busy days. Take care of yourself and don't stress yourself out :)
