I think it is funny that you are having so much trouble picking the perfect resort to stay in!

For us, it is never (well, almost never) an issue. We nix a value because of the size. We are Pooh size adults and the values are just a bit too small with the regular full size beds.

Since we are rarely actually in the room, I have issues with paying more money for a Deluxe. I have given some considerations to a Savannah room at AKL, but the extra expense meant we could stay for less time.

When we go for a short trip without the kids we will likely stay in that Savannah room, but when it is a family trip it will always be a moderate. SOG is a blast to stay at, and we always drop by there every trip (like something small from the shoppette or to get some tickets.) Since we drive, it is not really any farther for us... but not being able to get the dining plan makes it more expensive for us than staying at a moderate. (we are big eaters...remember Pooh sized!)

I can't wait for your auction! I will plan on bidding at least once...but I am guessing it will be early on...while I can still afford it. LOL

You can purchase the dining plan up until 2 days before your trip, well, 48 hours. So usually no rush on that issue. If renting points through a service like Davids, you have to deal with a middleman so I would give yourself a few weeks in advance to get the dining plan in place. You just can't order it after you arrive at the resort. Also, the owner of the unit has to pay for it. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways but generally what I have seen is the renter will purchase a Disney gift card and give that number to the owner to use for the dining plan purchase. Of course if you are willing to pass over a cc number not really an issue. Also, for ME you usually have to have the owner not this on the reservation as well. I have heard of some renters being able to call ME directly and do this but generally has to be the owner that orders the ME service. I guess the only thing to remember is that renting DVC means you don't get daily housekeeping. You will get a towel replacement/trash pick up on the 4th day but otherwise no housekeeping. If this is important you can pay extra for daily housekeeping.

If you decide to do Conceirge level I wouldn't do the dining plan, it would probably be overkill. But others I am sure can talk more about that. As for your timing, the only rooms at AKV that need to be booked exactly at 11 months would be the value villas and the conceirge villas. All the others you shouldn't have problems booking before the 7 month window. For Savannah view you can probably get a room even after the 7 month window as that is the highest point category and the last to fill up. We own at BLT but have stayed at AKV many times because of the low point value. We have always stayed Savannah view and it is wonderful. But, you really can see animals from all over the resort so not necessarily a priority.

I'm glad you like the carriage. I actually went back to oopsi's report to see if you commented on it, then I went through your report to make sure you didn't get it. I saw lots and lots of cute Donald things I wanted to get for you, but I have no idea what you already have and what you didn't...so I settled for this. It was a fun process doing the P-A-P, and I'm glad someone will get use out of the pretty little thing!

How are you liking your new smart phone? Which one did you get.

Love it! I waited patiently for StraightTalk to come out with a Verizon network smartphone. And now they have 2! It is a Galaxy Proclaim. Not as cool as the iphone or the Galaxy SIII, but it's what I can afford and at $45/month unlimited everything....I am very very happy with it.

Oh, and your ringtone is set to Dory singing "just keep swimming...just keep swimming..."

Josh put that on him last night, but he just licked it off all night last night. So, this morning, Josh called the Vet (yah, we have them in speed dial now), and they suggested another topical ointment... The area is so raw that it's swollen and angry looking. The vet also suggested a cone... MM is not a happy camper today. Poor guy - it's tough work being a puppy.

Back story... When the girls and I were in WDW, I let them do Pick-A-Pearl, because it looked like so much fun. I didn't do one myself though. Then when we got home and all the March 2012 TRs were starting, I think it was Oopsi's dd (???) that got a P-A-P with Cinderella's carriage... It was gorgeous, and I just loved it!

Anyways... I open this box, and there inside is this:

I am so lucky that I have this whole world of "friends in a box" (as Lisa would say), and these friends have just become this amazing group of people that I look forward to interacting with every day. Really - you all are just the BEST!

You can get 3 views- Savannah, Pool or Parking Lot. I have never had Parking lot view but have had both Savannah once and Pool view twice and I really love them both.

Plus the value resorts are located in the best section of Jambo.

Good morning everyone!

So sorry I do not have time for replies this morning - I will try to do them after work today, or tomorrow morning.

When I woke at my usual 5:30am, we had no internet again. Sigh. There is a huge construction project near our house that they are trying to finish up before winter - I suspect they hit one of the lines again. So, I did not have any internet this morning. Rather than obsess over it, I just went up to my sewing room and worked on a few odds-n-ends projects.

My tags finally came yesterday... So, I can get some pictures posted as soon as it's light enough to take them, and get them in the mail for the people that are waiting on them.

Unfortunately, I work all day today, so nothing will get done until tomorrow.

Tonight is a big night for me, and I hope my internet cooperates... Or I will have to rush to my BFF's house to use her internet to get my auction posted. I am very excited about it!

Oh yes, I had some news for you all yesterday... I've decided which resort we are staying at. Rather than just wrecking the anticipation that you all have been waiting for, I've decided to leave it a surprise. Not only for all of you, but for the girls too.

So, the plan is... Hopefully, to fly down on October 11 (would like an afternoon flight, so the girls could at least get a half day of school in). We will pick them up from school and go directly to the airport. I plan to stay at POFQ until Monday, on Monday, we will check out of FQ and that evening, we will check into our new resort.

Hint: It is not a Moderate.

Hope Max is doing better now. How long does he have to wear the cone? I like the idea of making him a pair of shorts to wear. They could be camo and fit right in, so to speak.

Will your auction be on Facebook? Is it part of the Main Street page? I'm sure whatever you have will be fought over right up to the end!

I get so frustrated when I have problems with my internet, computer, anything techie. I do love my iPhone, more than I ever thought I would. During my recent stay in Virginia to help my daughter, I had to go all over the place to do lots of different things, and the GPS on there was amazing. And fast! I tend to lose my bearings and that thing got me everywhere I wanted to go. And last night DH and I were at Babie R Us to get shower gifts and we were able to download coupons for 20% off and saved us some money!
