Definately a slow day yesterday... I think all my Dis friends went on vacation? :confused3

Sorry about the lack of the Charlotte update... I got caught up in something else, and then I ran upstairs to work on a little project in my sewing room before I had to leave to get the truck repaired. HOpefully I will get to it soon.

The truck ended up being a nightmare yesterday. :sad1: OK - maybe I am being a little dramatic... But when your mechanic calls you to tell you "it isn't good"... There's a bit of an adreneline rush. It wasn't just the brake pads (which weren't there anymore :scared:)... The rotors needed to be done too (we weren't expecting that). I was a bit :faint: after hearing that - considering I had just driven it 20 miles that morning. Thankfully - I was smart enough to take it slow (I am not a very fast driver anyways) and easy. The truck was at the mechanic's for the entire day, and I did not make it back home until 6pm. Thankfully it's done, and Josh will have a safe vehicle to drive.

So, my bff picked me up yesterday from our mechanic (it's her uncle), and we spent the day shopping at all of our old haunts. It was so much fun! I didn't buy too much - but I got some great deals on everything... The sales out there right now are fantastic, most of them are 70% off of the lowest ticketed price! :cheer2: I won't go into a lot of detail about what I bought... but there are a couple of great deals I'd like to share...

First of all - I found a pair of "Silver" brand jeans... I've always wanted a pair, but I am too much of a tightwad to buy them... They were regular price $88. I got them for $19. :cool1:

So, that one didn't have anything to do with Disney, but this one does - sort of...

Sears... Yes, Sears... They had all of their Lands End swimwear on clearance... It was marked 30-50% ... Then they had an additional 70% off the lowest ticketed price! :cheer2:

(FYI - TMI ahead) Ok - gotta back up a minute... I have a huge swimwear problem... All my life, I have not been able to find appropriate swimwear - because my "girls" are too big. The closest I have ever found is Victoria's Secret (:scared:), because they size their swimwear in bra sizes... So, I can get a tankini in a DD cup. But, let's face it - I have not had a VS body in years (if ever) :confused3. So, last spring, I went on a frantic search right before our trip, for a swimsuit. I purchased it at Kohls - never tried it on, brought it with me to florida... I never went swimming, because when I put it on - I looked so AWFUL! Threw away the tags before we left home - totally waste of $$. I've been complaining about my swimwear issues my entire adult life, and many people have told me to "try Lands End"... Hmph... Yah - right, I am sure they are like the others. So, yesterday, I grabbed a tankini top off the deep discount swimwear rack, and tried it on... Not only did it fit, but it looked better than any other swim top I have ever tried, and it didn't make me look - well - for lack of a better word - trampy. I looked like an adult. And I actually liked it. And it was on sale. :cheer2:

So, for a grand total of $39.99... I got 2 tankini tops, 1 matching swim skirt, and a cover - up. I am so happy, because the next trip - I will be using the pool!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: And I won't be dying of heat in my shorts.

Thank you for letting me share, because I am sure that I am not the only female out there that has these issues... I do have to say though - their swimwear does run big... I am a BIG girl... Right now, I am in 16ish sized jeans, and I had to buy a 12 in the tankini top! :confused3 I highly recommend that you run into your local Sears store, and check out their Lands End swimwear. I wish I would have tried it years ago.

OK - that is all I am going to share with you about my shopping day yesterday - I am really sorry if I bored you all.

Today - I will be in my sewing room most of the day... Josh and I are going out for dinner with friends tonight - should be fun!

HOpefully I will have a picture of "something" to show you this afternoon - but it's not a bag... It's a prototype... :stir:

yes my sister swears by Lands End bathing suits she is well endowed. Me not so much LOL.

Sounds like you had a very successful shopping day. I was going to pop on here the other day to tell you that Hollister still has 50% off their redline merchandise. I bought my girls some cute Hawaiian print skirts for $5 each. They can wear them this spring. I also picked up a few tops that I put away for holiday gifts for them.

It sounds like you really scored on your jeans! And I'm so happy that you found a swimsuit that will work for you. I've never bought any Lands End bathing suits but they do look really nice. My MIL always wants to take me bathing suit shopping when we visit her in Florida so I end up buying one each time we visit her. My bathing suit drawer is bursting open!

I have a pair of Lands End Jeans because, not only am I a big girl, I'm a tallish girl too, so all the "average" jeans I find always end up as "crops" as the cotton shrinks, and Lands End not ony has multiple sizes and lengths, they do run a tad large, so I can get away with a regular size instead of the "W" size. So hearing that their swimwear runs large is not surprising. Wow, that was a long way to say nothing really that important:lmao:)

And, in my case anyway, great deals should be celebrated and shared. It's a family thing: it's not unusual as Christmas or other present giving time to hear someone in my family add: "And it was on sale!" when a gift is opened. It drives my DH nuts. :p

I'm looking forward to the prototype.

Oh I need to check them out! I have a time finding a suit that fits up top lol.

I am super excited about this project!

So many people have a approached me about creating this, and I was so happy to finally have the time!

While I was making this one, I just kept getting more and more excited, because I started thinking about all the possibilites for boys... They can use the lanyard portion for Pin Trading, they can use the pouch portion to hold their keeper pins - or even better, their Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards. It's zippered, so they could even stick a gift card inside. And of course, the reason for the pouch - It has the vinyl window to hold a GAC card. The vinyl window is semi-waterproof. I had so much fun creating this!

I ADORE the GAC holder!

Perfect!

You outdid yourself... (of course now Mr D has informed me he thinks I should make him one...not gonna happen...LOL)

Nini

of course I am not going to say my normal comment when you post pictures....

Love love love theGac holder. I so need one of these for ours. Your creativity amazes me.

Well, not all their suits are for people like me, I discovered that yesterday while I was online... The majority of them are for normal people. :thumbsup2 However, I was just happy to find something that didn't make me either A: look like a 40 y/o teenager or B: let my b00bs sag down to my knees. :thumbsup2

I was very impressed with the support in the suits. I was so impressed that I went to LE online yesterday and I ordered a second suit... They were on sale there (though not as much as at Sears) too. So, I am thrilled that I will now have 2 suits that properly fit me... It's very necessary to have 2 suits at the lake... One drying, one dry. :thumbsup2

Thanks Diane - I did see that when I was at the mall the other day. I did stop in and get each of the girls one of those big necked tees for Christmas... $16 total for both, not bad, IMO.

Yah - those jeans are super comfy, I wore them all day yesterday.

I have the same swimsuit problem... I do have a ton of them, but none of them fit right. :( If you are ever in the market for a new one - I highly suggest LE. :thumbsup2

I thought what you said was important. :) It's important to be able to spend your $$ on something that really works out well for you, anything else is just a waste IMO... And it's even better if you can find it on sale. :thumbsup2

And, in my case anyway, great deals should be celebrated and shared. It's a family thing: it's not unusual as Christmas or other present giving time to hear someone in my family add: "And it was on sale!" when a gift is opened. It drives my DH nuts. :p

LOL Same thing here... Actually we don't even say it - my girls just know.

I'm looking forward to the prototype.

It's already posted.

Oh I need to check them out! I have a time finding a suit that fits up top lol.

Yah, you should. I guess, my biggest complaint with most suits is that stupid shelf bra inside... Unib00b anyone? And when they are competent enough to put an underwire into a suit, it's not nearly large enough. :confused3 So, I was thrilled that it was large enough and cute and supportive. :thumbsup2 I highly recommend... Oh and the little swim skirt I got with both of mine... SUper cute too... Just long enough the it covers my bum, but not so long that I feel like I am wearing a skirt. I have had swim skirts in the past, but they just don't fall right - these ones do, and I really like that.

Yes, I am quoting myself...

I have a complaint, so now I am going to vent. Yet again, I have had to remove half my pictures, because of my tags showing the name of my store. It is not my intention to do that. Each time I upload my photos, I edit them in Photobucket to block out my store name, but when I post them here, it doesn't show my edits. It is really frustrating to me, because I want to show everyone these pictures, but I don't want to get in trouble for "advertising"... So, in many cases - I have to remove pictures. Grrr... I am really getting frustrated with Photobucket.

I ADORE the GAC holder!

Nini

of course I am not going to say my normal comment when you post pictures....

I am glad you like it Nini... There are a few things I wish I could change, but because of the dimensions of the GAC, I can't really do that. I am debating on orientating the zipper to the side, but I am just not sure. Personally, I feel safer if it is upwards, just in case I leave it unzipped. But that side is wider... I dunno... I think maybe I can flip it, so the wider zipper is on top, and the vinyl portion on the back is still upwards... I still need to do a little playing with it. But I love how versitile it is, and I am super excited that it can be all boy too.

Love love love theGac holder. I so need one of these for ours. Your creativity amazes me.

I am glad you like it Chiara! :thumbsup2

I spent most of my day in my sewing room yesterday. I was very happy to complete the GAC Pouch.

Josh made an amazing stew for dinner the other night... It was a Pork curry squash soup - it really hit the spot and it was very filling. :thumbsup2 I am very fortunate that Josh is an excellent cook - even if he does use 2x more dishes than necessary.

We had a great dinner out with friends last night. We weren't out too late, but it was fun!

Today, it's really cold outside. The girls and I were contimplating going to Valleyfair with my BFF and her dd... We haven't decided if we want to freeze our behinds off (um 40+ deg today)... Our passes expire in a couple of weeks, and I'd really like to get a bit more use out of them. And if we get to that side of town, I can take my swim top back to Sears and have them take the security tag off of it - since the lady neglected to do that for me the other night. :crazy2:

If we don't go to VF... I will stay home and work on my SSP... I have this whole week to work on it, because this is techincally my "week off".

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

I absolutely LOVE the GAC holder! I don't need a GAC, but would LOVE one of these...I am thinking my next trip needs to be lanyard only (no backpack or fanny pack or bag of any sort)

Lynn

I love the GAC holder also :thumbsup2 I could use one to hold our park tickets, and put fast passes in the clear pocket!! hmmmmm, something to think about for sure :scratchin! I like the zipper being on the top, I'd probably be one to leave it unzipped and lose everything in it! So, this is not the super secret project, huh? Can't wait to see what that is :cool1:

I love this... This could be handy for any park guest. I love the grey and red fabric, and I am impressed with how you made Mickey look "tough" and still lovable!!! Awesome!!!!

I read your bathing suit update yesterday and fully intended to go to Sears today, but one thing led to another and I just didn't get there. I have a $50 Sears giftcard left over from my birthday this year....I could really stock up on Lands End stuff (love it). It's an hour drive to our closest Sears, so it takes a little planning for me. But I will make it this week....hopefully they still have the awesome sale going on!

Thanks Lynn! :) You know, I do a lot with just a lanyard and a wallet, and it works out pretty well. The pouch could also hold some lip gloss, and maybe a cell phone? If the cell phone was small enough - don't think it would hold a smart phone though - not mine anyways.

I love the GAC holder also :thumbsup2 I could use one to hold our park tickets, and put fast passes in the clear pocket!! hmmmmm, something to think about for sure :scratchin! Yup - you could totally use it for that. :thumbsup2 I agree - the zipper should be on top, but like I said, I might change it so that things are a little different - but the zipper would always be on top.

I agree! Yah- I love that fabric too, it was so hard cutting into it, because I only have the teeniest bit of it left and it's discountinued.

Yes, you must get back to Sears! It's a total deal! They still had the sale going on yesterday, we had to stop back to have them take the security tag off of my suit top. :crazy2: I did browse the rack one more time, and there was a considerable amount gone from Friday night, but they still had a lot.

The girls and I had a great day yesterday. We decided to hit Valleyfair for one of our last times (we think we will try to go once more)... It was a lot of fun, maybe only 50 cars in the parking lot, so every ride was walk-on... and most of the rides, the attendants let the girls stay on and ride through. They got more rides done in the few hours we were there, then I think they got all season. And it was just the perfect day, weather wise too... I shared a few pics on FB, so I'll share those here too. :thumbsup2

Sorry these photos are so large... I took them with my cell phone and uploaded to FB, so they never got resized.

V, Livvy (My bff's dd), and Alli

D~, V, Livvy, Alli, and Robyn... FYI - these will be all the characters participating in our BIG October 2014 trip, celebrating all the girls' Sweet 16 birthdays! I don't think I have introduced you all to my bff yet? Robyn and I met back in our college days, and eventually became room-mates... We've had our ups and downs, but mostly ups... Our girls have grown up together, and are bffs themselves (most of the time - they are actually more like sisters, and fight a fair share of the time).

All 3 girls posing with some of the monsters... I love V in this picture, it was so funny because she just crawled through all of them and popped her head up. And actually - they were just walking around, it was V that approached them and asked if they would pose for a picture with her. :faint:

280501_4808828427386_1691430044_o.jpg

Then, a photo of V and Livvy on the Renegade.... You can see Livvy about 5 rows back holding on to her head. I love this ride, but it's a super fast woodie... because it's super fast, the track really takes a beating, so it's very rough now, even if the coaster is only 5 years old. I can usually only handle riding it once a year, and I have to do the same thing Livvy is doing, and hold my head - otherwise, I seriously think it causes brain damage... I know for sure that it causes major headaches.

I thought I would share a bonus picture of all the girls when they were little - Olivia (Livvy) is always in the middle:

AVOprototype2a.jpg

So, that was our super fun day yesterday. We came home and had a really late dinner, and straight to bed.

I will be spending my day working on my SSP... Actually - that's how I will be spending my week. :) And as soon as my labels come, I will be sharing another bag set with you all too. :thumbsup2

I hope you all have a marvelous day!

D~

D you get some of the best pictures. I love seeing your girls through the years.

Your SSP sounds much better than me finishing my launch outfits.

the GAC bag turned out great!

fun photos at the park, those are some creepy looking monsters!

Fun Pictures of ValleyFaire!! We also went to our local park this weekend and had a great time. We don't have those character wandering around just Snoopy and the Gang. The favorite thing my kids love to do this time of year is go Trick or Treating from Character to Character. See the character get candy!! What kid wouldn't be happy doing that.

I actually checked out the pictures this morning when I stopped by work for a couple of hours but I didn't have time comment. I like the idea of boys using it for pins. Very cool.

DH cooks too, but he tends to make one pan meals -whether they really are or not.:rotfl:
