(Aug '11 TR) Park Commando Status in Jeopardy! 10/9 final thoughts and title

Yeay for seeing Remy when you didn't think you would! As Chelsea would say, "Win!"

Hope you are feeling better this morning. Dizziness is never fun.

I like Chelsea's thinking!!! I am feeling better - thanks!

Haha I love that your daughter called the UK phone booths and found out it was raining at Epcot!

Yay on getting to see Remy at Chefs :thumbsup2 I agree with the meal review - it was okay but nothing exciting.

Oh no on Ohana being meh.

Also  for missing your father - I'm glad you were able to smile afterwards.

Edit: Just seen your next post and love all the pics. I agree in that last days are always wierd as you know you are going back home.

Thanks! I can't wait to read your thoughts on the restaurants!

:hug:for your dad! It's our Thanksgiving weekend here and our first holiday without our mom...it's gonna be a tough weekend:sad1:

I felt the same way this year about Les Chefs du France and I think we'll skip it next time! I can't put my finger on it either (we had a really ignorant woman at the table next to us) but it was just less than ok. We did breakfast at O'hana's this time and I must say I preferred that to dinner!

I really really really hope you decide to do a PTR...we have no trip on the horizon so I need to live vicariously thru my friends:hug:

Queen  - Holidays are the worst. I think at Thanksgiving we will probably share memories about my dad. I am not sure why everything recently is about it, but it is... for example, last night my girls had a guest soccer coach instead of their normal coach. They told me that the coach was from Scotland and was headed home for a couple of months. I shared with them how Pop Pop's mom was from Scotland and that pop pop was 1/2 Scottish. They then realized they are Scottish too.

Maybe we will try Ohana's breakfast in Dec. Kona should be a better option for my pot stickers. Also, I read that you can get bannana bread there...

I will probably do a pre-trip report, but you will be reliving your trip (as I anxiously follow along...) to help you brighten your nonDisney filled days.

Sorry you weren't thrilled with Chefs :( We enjoy the dinner menu over the lunch! Your Garden Grill meal looked good! I love all those chocolates!!!!

We haven't made it to Chefs yet, but I hope they still have Remy when we get to it. The girls will think he's cute. I hear stories about handsome waiters. ;)

'Ohana was a great meal for us. The waiter was just average, but we all thought the food was great.

All the pictures make me ready, ready, ready to be there in a few days. I pulled the suitcases out and started sorting some stuff around. I'll do some more of that this afternoon, and then I'll arrange and rearrange from now until Thursday night. When I leave to go to school Friday morning, I'll have to have it all with me, because I am going to Alabama from school. We're flying out of Birmingham this time.

We don't often leave without another trip booked. If we do, it's usually only a few days after we get home until we get one booked! :thumbsup2

Boo for your trip being over, but like you said, having one on the horizon helps tremendously!

I am glad we have DVC; it ensures that I get my fixes!

I'll have to look at the lunch menu--but then again the atmosphere just didn't do it...

Remy is adorable and the girls would get a kick out of it. You can certainly save money by sharing there, so if you aren't on the dining plan, don't rule it out.

I responded about Birmingham on your report already. :yay:

Dear Friends,

Before I wrap this up, I realized that I never explained the title...

We were late getting to the parks nearly every day on this trip. We also entered parks and found that we only rode a ride or two, and none of us were bothered by it.

We certainly like commado touring still and a couple of the days were spent with great touring plans, but overall, we tended to stroll more. It was nice, and it allowed for us to do some of the attractions we'd never done before: Swiss Family Treehouse, American Idoland favorites: Art of Animation (while also sitting and enjoying snacks.)

On our upcoming trip School's Closing Early? Let's Do Disney in December!, I predict we will still have a mix of both.

Thanks for reading about the August report! Please join me at the PTR to help me plan and do countdown dances!

Love, Debby

Aaw sad this TR is over but heading over to the new PTR! :cool1:

Thanks for explaining the title - am glad you got to experience the best of both worlds and see some new attractions in the process.

I'm with you, girl. :hug::hug::hug:

There are times when I feel perfectly normal, and times when I can't look at a crack in the sidewalk without thinking about Daddy. A couple of weeks ago, DD was swinging on her swingset and she kept leaning back and looking up. She squealed "Look Mommy! I can see Poppy up there!" She proceeded to tell him all about her day and ended with "I love you, Poppy!" It completely wrecked my makeup. ;) Needless to say, I swing WITH her now - maybe I'll see him too.

On another note - I always LOVE your TRs! And the pics you guys took at GG are really good - you should give them another look maybe!

Can't wait to check out your next PTR!! Well, between working and school. I am beginning the research portion of my studies, so that's fun. :sad2:

When does soccer start back up for the girls?
And are you driving or flying in Dec? I swear I'm gonna flag you down on the interstate...:woohoo:

Now, you totally brought tears to my eyes. I know you understand, and that helps. I think that he is already there with you.

I have to write my mom a letter to tell her how often my dad is in my thoughts. I think she thinks that she is alone in her grief, but I don't want to upset her more.

I don't know if I shared that a couple of weeks ago, my mom and I were on my deck talking. A hummingbird came out of no where (I can't say that I have seen hummingbirds in my neighborhood...) It flew down in between the two of us, so close we could have touched it. It was so out of the norm. My parents always had a hummingbird feeder outside of their house. I knew it was connected to my dad.

On another note - I always LOVE your TRs! And the pics you guys took at GG are really good - you should give them another look maybe!

Thanks...I am a better teacher of writing than a writer...The pics aren't terrible, just seem to be squished... :confused3

Thanks check in when you can...Can you see an end in sight? How many more courses? I am sooo glad I don't have classes hanging over me. I do enjoy taking them, so I will sign up for more some day.

When does soccer start back up for the girls?

We are in season...rain has been a nightmare for practices and games. They just lost 0-3 and we have to leave for another game soon. (It is a rain make up). They always have to play better teams because they are the third team and most soccer clubs don't have third teams. We see an improvement and hope in spring that their team will have it together.

And are you driving or flying in Dec? I swear I'm gonna flag you down on the interstate...:woohoo:

We are flying...not enough time to drive. We will figure out a way to meet in the future...:flower3:
