Auditioning for a sining role in DIsney?

My daughter has been invited to a number of Dance auditions (they fly down for a week, learn a routine and then dance in the parade) (she has never gone because she is only 12 -- and i don't plan on moving to Florida -- yet)..

But that is all managed by an agency -- perhaps your friend should get an agent?

Singing roles for entertainment are not open for the College Program, if that was part of your question. Singing roles and many other acting roles for Disney fall under an actor equity agreement and are therefore very different from CP entertainment roles. Agents are not remotely needed for auditioning as far as I am aware, and in fact may be a hinderance.

Go to disneyauditions.com and look up singing auditions. They hold auditions in Orlando, LA, and NYC pretty regularly for various singing roles. Have a headshot and a resume at the ready, and make sure to have a piece of music with the correct number of bars that showcases your voice best. Have the sheet music on hand. If you keep a little kit like that, you'll be all ready for the first audition that comes your way! If you aren't familiar with working with sheet music or aren't sure what bars I speak of, consider paying for voice lessons for a few months to get a feel for professional work as a singer. (and, on the off chance you meant "signing" rather than "singing", Disney does not hire their own sign language interpreters, they contract that out to an agency ... I believe ASL Services of Orlando, but not 100% sure)
