Attractions with flights of stairs

I know DL like the back of my hand but it’s been many years since my last visit to WDW, long before I had issues with stairs. What attractions require climbing steep flights of stairs ? For instance, TSMM @ CA has stairs to climb after the ride is over, as does RSR. I bypass these by using another exit with help of CM.

I’m hoping to be informed ahead of time on this trip so I am not caught in a bad situation. Stairs like those in the amphitheaters are not a problem as I can usually go at a slower pace.

As always, TIA to you WDW experts!

Single rider line at Smuggler’s Run has stairs. That one caught me by surprise. 😁

At Disney World:
  • Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Peter Pan, People Mover, Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, Guardians, Frozen Ever After, Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster - none in queue, but may be required if it breaks down
  • Splash Mountain did, so it's replacement likely will
  • Big Thunder has three or four steps, not steep, but if it breaks down there will be steep sets of stairs to evacuate
  • Cinderellas Royal Table, you may need CM assistance to use the elevator
  • Dinosaur (stairs may also be necessary during ride break downs)
  • Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom (stairs may also be necessary during a break down)
  • Flights of Passage
  • Single Rider Line and Smugglers Run
  • Not sure about Tron
This is not an exhaustive list, but this is the majority of them.

It's been a while since I rode Space Mountain; does it no longer have stairs in the regular queue?

I can think of a few, but those that do have elevators for those that have ECVs. My guess is that if you have an inability to do stairs, but don't have an ECV, the CMs will probably take you. In the American Adventure, going from the first to the second floor for the movie, Toy Story Midway Mania, at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean, are ones I can think of.

if an attraction needs evacuation, guests who are not able to use the regular evacuation route will be evacuated by emergency personnel.
If you have a non-visible need to avoid stairs, talk to the CM at the entry.
  • Splash Mountain had a bypass to the stairs just before the queues reached the area with stairs. The bypass led to a covered area with several benches where guests waited until called to board.
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has several shallow steps soon after entering the Standby Line. The Lightning Lane has no steps. The last time I went, a CM opened the rope dividing the LL from the Standby Lane for a guy with a cane to bypass the stairs part of the line.
  • Dinosaur at AK has stairs in the main queue after all the preshow areas, but there is an elevator to the boarding area before reaching the stairs.
  • Killimanjaro River Rapids at AK doesn't have stairs at least in the Lightning Lane queue. I have not ridden it using the Standby queue, but dont think it has stairs.
  • Flights of Passage has one set of theaters that don't have any stairs.
  • Smuggler's Run has several steep sets of stairs in the single rider line, but other paths are accessible.
  • Toy Story Mania has stairs in the main queues, but there are ways to avoid them.
Guardians of the Galaxy has several wide and steep sets of stairs to exit. There are elevators to bypass all the stairs.
Post 28 in the disABILITIES FAQs thread will be helpful, as lanejudy posted
