Been reading some of the posts and it brought up memories of rides and places that are gone.

-River Country
-Discovery Island
-Submarine ride (I thought I heard they were redoing it?)
-Treehouse Villas

Anything else??

:guilty:

Yikes! I forgot that one. My kids loved that show. Esmerelda was the first character my DD would allow to come up to her. And after she was a big Esmerelda fan. When we went back last November we were sad to see it was gone. Luckily, I taped the entire show on video. So if she wants to see it...she can.

Some more...The SKWAY ride (I think that was the name) between Tommorrowland & Fantasyland.

The Swan Boats!

We must have seen Hunchback 100 times. The staging was brilliant. What a loss.

and for other things:

-- the Diamond Horseshoe Review - corny fun that we always went to once during each visit.....singing with the guy on the guitar was silly fun.

--Mr. toads wild ride.

-- the lion king (micky's philharmagic replaced it)

-- if you could fly -- or something like that (replaced by Buzz Lightyear).

-- the commuter computer - the voice that used to be on the TTA

-- the original journey into the imagination and the place upstairs where you could be in videos and all sorts of fun stuff..

i'll think of others..
i have to go pick up my son...

more at Epcot (besides the original journey into the imagination):

-- Horizons
--World of Motion
--Food Rocks
--the AT&T exhibit at the end of spaceship earth

and let's see....at MGM beside Hunchback...

-- before Hunchback they had a Pocohontas production. It was quite good. Not on the level of Hunchback but very impressive. It was before they had the permanent structure there

I can't remember the names of all the things they've taken out of MGM...

--before Sounds Dangerous there was another sound one there....where they picked people out of the audience to be the foley experts...to put the sound effects on a film with martin short in it....it was fun....

-- next door, there was a thing where they picked people out of the audience before the show and they were dressed up and they appeared in TV clips (like the famous I love Lucy chocolate factory clip).

-- in the same place, after they closed the above, they then had a production called Dave (i think)....it was really well done...

-- the tour of the animation production facilities (which have been closed so there's no people to see working anymore)...

--in the animation area, the movie with robin williams and walter cronkite....very funny....

more later..

I was gonna say Horizons and World of Motion! Also, Spaceship Earth with Walter Cronkite. The original Journey into your Imagination! They are bringing Figment back. Nobody mentioned Captian EO. I still cannot believe that "Living Seas" , Universe of Energy , and Body Wars are pretty much the same? And, what I miss the most, the original Illuminations music!!! When every country was pointed out with music!!!!! I miss ALOT!!!! But, like my husband says, " They have to keep up with the times.". But, I still miss the original

The AT&T exhibit isnt there anymore?

I remember seeing a film with Bette Midler at the "sounds" bldg. Am I crazy?

I LOVED when they picked the people out of the audience to be in TV shows. I dont know why they took that away. That was always very popular. :confused3 HELP>>>WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THAT ATTRACTION (this will drive me nuts until someone answers)

The TV attraction was called Superstar Television. I remember seeing the Bette Midler film on the tour, not in the sound building, but it could have been moved.

In the spirit of this thread, Disney now has a 2 CD set that has the original music from a # of these now gone attractions. First time I've heard "Magic Journeys" since they stopped showing the film years ago. Also music from Horizons and World of Motion. And "Tomorrows Child".

Before Food Rocks it was Kitchen Kabaret (? sp) - my now 17 yo DD LOVED it when she was about 3 yo and made us see it over and over!

Thank you! Thank you...I can rest now!

Here's an oldie but goodie...
In the first few years of MGM, there was no Sunset Blvd (TOT, R&R). There used to be the Theater of the Stars. Everyday they would have a famous person speaking there to guests or performing. We saw the show twice, once we saw Howie Mandel, the other time it was Mark Hamill. A third time we saw it they were shooting a Beauty & the Beast promotional commercial. I think the theater sat right where the street (sunset blvd) is now or close to that spot.

This was called "Doug" based on a cartoon show. We really liked it. I think the building is empty now.

What about the living statue, Masquerade, and the mime show in Epcot?

The Soundstage Restaurant in MGM is gone. We ate breakfast there on the last day of our honeymoon, so it was "special" to me!!!

Here two that I saw in 2003 that are now gone.
