Attractions & places that are now gone...

I really miss If You Had Wings!!

"If you had wings. If you had wings. If you had wings, had wings, had wings................"

Also, I agree with the other posts about Journey Into Imagination. I really miss the old one. The big "play" area upstairs was so much fun, too!! I wish they would bring that back.

Even though I love Spectromagic, I miss the Electrical Lights Parade.

I will have to think about others.

We especially miss the Tapestry of Nations Parade at EPCOT.

And I was wondering why the WEDway People Mover name was changed to Transit Authority - Blueline - whatever...It's the same ride, but the old name meant something!!!

We really really miss....Hunchback Show at MGM, Mr. Toad's Wildride at MK, and the Soundstage Restaurant Character meal at MGM. Three huge losses !

This website is a good one that will let you take a stroll down memory lane of past attractions. She has done a very nice job with descriptions and pictures.

Also, if you click on the link to "Walt Deleted World", there is info on a lot of ideas that were never built at WDW in the parks & also resorts.

-- the original journey into the imagination and the place upstairs where you could be in videos and all sorts of fun stuff..

OH MY GOD! YESSS!!! I loves that place :guilty:

What about
1. Future Corps
2. The Main Street Band in MK
3. Dreamfinder and the original "Journey Into Imagination"
4. Lafitte's Portrait Studio in MK by "Pirates of the Caribbean" where you could dress up like a pirate to have your picture taken
5. Coaches Corner in Wonders of Life (how long did that last?)

I really loved Superstar Television. One of my favorite memories of MGM involved this show. My parents, grandmom, and I went to MGM for the day. We went over the Superstar Television and I wanted to be picked for one of the skits, so I got to the front and waved frantically. Well, I was a chubby little kid, so I got picked the play the skipper from Gilligan's Island. My grandmom got picked too! It was for some soap opera. Well, I did my skit, which was to peddle on this bike made of bamboo or something and wave with the rest of the characters (it was just the opening credits thing) well, I go back stage and here comes the skit with my grandmom. They had her in this pink nightgown like robe that has puffy fringe all around it. They tried to get her to read the cue cards, but her eyesight is really bad. She pulled out her huge glasses and it was such a riot. Well, they have her talking on the phone with this hot guy and he's supposed to be her boyfriend. It was so great. Well, then the guy playing her husband comes in and he's just grinning like a fool because he's on TV. He's supposed to be catching her cheating on him. Well, grandmom got sick of trying to read the cards and got the prop gun from the table and says "that's it for you bub". It was just the best and I'm really sorry that we did not have a video cam back then. This was on the same day that Vicky Lawrence was there because she told us that the very last episode of Mama's family was going to air the following Monday.

I really miss Alien Encounters and Mr Toad's Wild Ride. About Mr Toad- My sister thinks the track that is on the Winnie the Pooh ride is the same as Mr Toad. She thinks they left it the same. I don't think it is. Who is right?

Nobody mentioned Captian EO.
Now why in the world would anyone selectively forget Captain EO, good "family friendly" entertainment starring MJ. Hmmmmm...I wonder? ;)

How about the Mike Fink Keelboats in MK? Or the 3-D movie "Magic Joooooourneys" that was orginally at Epcot and moved to MK (I think)?

The Hunchback Of Notre Dame Show in MGM. It was tooooooooooo good.
my old roommate on the college program was in the show and was devastated when they closed it. it was a great show

i miss Horizons----even though it was outdated and kinda corny, i loved it! the same roommate got to go in backstage one night with a friend and tour the whole thing on foot- they were getting ready to close it and she 'borrowed' a plaque in the entry way/queue area that said horizons on it as a souveneir since it was her favorite ride too.

It wasn't a ride, but a few years ago you could burn your own CD (at the entrance of MK) with music heard in all Disney Parks, movies, etc. I burned one with all the parade music, fireworks shows, and other shows (like the one at Cinderella's Castle).

I then could personalize the cover with my son's name and the date visited.

That CD keeps my sons imagination going to this day...

The Soundstage Restaurant in MGM is gone. We ate breakfast there on the last day of our honeymoon, so it was "special" to me!!!

It is reopen. Opened in May I belive. But the only place to eat breakfast at MGM is ABC Commisary.
