Attractions near Ana Maria Island?

Does anyone have any ideas for day trips or activities on or near Ana Maria Island? The island is near Sarasota.

St. Armands Circle is a fun hang out place in the evenings. It has a some nice places to eat.

rent bikes and ride around Bean Point! ride the free trolley to the various beaches.

Hang at Rod n Reel Pier while waiting for your table.

Enjoy every sunset.

We go every summer as the in-laws live close by. We just hang out at the beach. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! LOVE it there. We went to the aquarium (I think in Tampa) last year and enjoyed it.

Any place that has a Columbia restaurant and a Kilwin's on the same circle is very special. The only other place I know where those two are together is Celebration. Try both.

Also, if you like baseball, St. Pete is not too far away. You might run up there and catch a Tampa Bay Rays game.

There is also a very good Italian restaurant on the south end of the circle that is excellent.
