Why is it that independent ticket suppliers can send out the proper tickets yet tour operators only sent out vouchers to exchange them at the guest services or ticket booths at the parks. If you buy a ultimate disney ticket that are only sold in the uk does the tour operator still send out vouchers or the proper ticket. Surely if they are only sold in the UK then you wont be able to get them in Disney? Also if the parks open at say 9am does guest services open before then so you can get your tickets?

Mostly they do it so if the tickets are lost in the post they can be refunded, whereas real tickets cannot be replaced. Each company is different, if you prefer to have the real ticket in your hand double check with them first. Guest services are open very early so although there may be a queue it shouldn't be difficult to get the voucher exchanged before you head into the park.
I'm presuming that when you get an ultimate 14 day ticket (exclusive UK only) and get a voucher, what you are really exchanging it for is a magic your way with full hopper and water park benefits!! I'm not sure on this, maybe someone else knows, all the tickets look the same anyway.
My ultimate 14 day tickets last year stopped working on day 2 or 3 (they got demagnetized!) and guest services just exchanged them for what I presume was a magic, full hopper ect ticket. They looked the same and worked the same. :confused3

Does anyone know if you can buy the 14 day ticket if you're stopping less than 14 days? I usually go for 10 (any longer and I won't come back at all :rotfl2: ) and buy the 7 day hopper, but it would work out cheaper for me to buy the 14 day ticket than to buty a 7 day hopper and then buy an extra day ticket or 2

Yes you can buy the 14 day one, we always do and don't usually use the whole 14 days, (we usually have a few days shopping, seworld etc) but its better value to buy the 14 day one.

Just to add Simon, make sure and shop around, current prices for 14 day ultimate seem to range from £188 to £158 per adult - a massive difference for a party of more than two!

Carol,

I booked the tickets already with virgin holidays, I have paid £165 for the 14 day ultimate ticket, I went for the ultimate tickets as it was £4 cheaper than the 7 day premium ones

Simon you got a good deal on the tickets with Virgin. We just booked our trip for '07 with them and the same ticket now costs £185

I didnt know that they had gone up that much, I am glad I booked when I did

Simon I was wrong about the increase in price. I've just looked on Virgin's website and actually the tickets haven't increased in price! Virgin were just quoting us the amount that the tickets will cost when we go on our '07 trip!

Does anyone know if we buy the tickets now can we still go ahead and use them next year, or is there an expiry date?

Usually the Ultimate type tickets have to be used by the end of the December in the year you buy them in. Then the prices go up in January. If you buy the other type of Disney ticket they come with no expiry date but I usually have found them more expensive when compared to the Ultimate.

For anybody that's interested in getting the Ultimate tickets for '07. I just phoned Disney and I was told that these tickets don't expire at the end of '06, so you can buy tickets this year at a much cheaper price and use them next year!

So just to check - the 21 Day Ultimate ticket I've got for our holiday 16 Dec 06 through to 5th Jan 07 will be valid for the whole of our stay and will not stop working on 1st Jan 07?

Yes, the lady I spoke to at Disney Travel said that the Ultimate Tickets only expire 14 or 21 days from the date that they are first used. Other than that there is no expiration date.
