Attn: Jello shot experts!!

I have some awesome ones. I'll have to look for them though.

I do an awesome pina colada one with pineapple jello, malibu coconut, and bacardi rum

then there's a blue margarita one - this one always gets rave reviews although I've never tasted it - I hate tequila, but it reads very much like a real margarita with fresh squeezed lime juice and everything.

I like the green apple martini ones - with green apple jello and grey goose vodka.

For Halloween adult parties, I'll die the pina colada ones orange and the margarita ones black, and the green apple martini ones I leave green.

Very festive...:goodvibes

Oh, and I get the plastic condiment cups with lids to make them look "professional" - they're also easier to store that way.

Breezy...I think we have the same recipes.:rotfl2: Also, grape jello with PGA, cherry jello with chocolate liquer, pineapple or peach jello with peach schnapps and vodka, berry blue with vodka or PGA. I used to have ownership in a bar. We would make around 1000 for the weekend. Everybody loves jello shots.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: I am baccccccccccck. IT was a blast. I am a little DUI, but doing :thumbsup2 ..

There were 5 different types of jello shots, along with the regular. I shall sleep like a babuuu tonight. :teeth:

:cool1: Glad you had a great time mommasita! You deserve it! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 I've tried the berry blue ones too - very good.

I got like 2.5 ice trays full, however there were more libations in the ice trays than jello...needless to say, as we were taking shots for my 30th birthday last year. Each guest had a tray to themselves...frankly I barely remember the rest of the evening...we were pretty lit.

Watermelon jello and Barcardi Limon mix is yummy :)

you make thme in ice cube trays? I have never seen anyone make them like that- that is different. Around here everyone I know uses those little paper type pill cups (think about the hospital and those little cups they give patients their pills in) and they work great, they stack together side by side in a 9x13 cake pan and then you can make a second layer on top of the first and then a second pan and put it on top of the first one. I make them all the time for work, we have a blast on jello shot day! One of the guys makes them 50/50 with water and vodke but I will melt the jello in a tiny bit of hot water then let it cool and use vodke for all the rest of the liquid.

Just wanted to say "Thanks" for this thread.

SIL and BIL are having a party tomorrow night and I decided to take over some Jello shots as my contribution to the festivities. I made the Pina Colada shots using Breezy's recipe and also some Strawberry Daiquiri shots. They are in the fridge right now and the Pina Colada ones smell sooooooo good.... just like a real Pina Colada.

Reminds me of some fun parties from college!

I do mine with Vodka... but a bit of advice.

Don't put it in the fridge without marking it as alcohol if you have family over.

My grandma was staying in my guest room, she went in my fridge, and had half a tray of Melon Vodka Jello shots, and I ended up finding her passed out on my sofa drunk.

OMG:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am totally excited Breezy you totally know your stuff thanks for the info.

Last year was our first with homemade Jello Shots and we made about 100 and let them ferment over night and whoo boy were they potent the next night.

However this year we were trying to find the right cup size and couldnt' seem to find them.

Anyone know where they could be found?

Thanks

We go to Oktoberfest every year in La Crosse, WI and I make probably 400 shots myself. My BBF makes the same.

We get our cups at Sam's Club or Party City. They are like the condiment ones. You can also get covers for them too. I would recommend that. AND......if you end up with left over shots, they will last in the fridge for quite some time. A few weeks....(I've done it).

Some of my fav's are raspberry jell-o with rasp schnapps. Though, I printed all the ones from this thread!! THANKS ALL!!! Some of these other ideas sound so yummy!!!

Our local Party Depot carries the plastic condiment cups, which is what I plan to use. I made the Jello up in the standard manner in big casserole dishes and then plan to scoop out portions into the cups so that they don't stick. A lot of people tend to make them directly into the cups, but in college we always made them the way I'm doing it and never had a problem.

I'm thinking I'll have to keep a few back in the fridge that I don't take to SIL's house so I have a stash for another day or two. :rotfl:

I thought I would share some pic's of Oktoberfest and our jello moments!!

This is only one of the many coolers that have some jello:

This is Stanley and Fat Bast*rd. He is my DD's old toy box and we used him as a cooler! Just added ice and strapped him to a wagon so we could wheel him around. He was LOADED with jell-o!

:thumbsup2 I've always bought them at Sam's Club, but there are so many of them that you'll be set for awhile. Also, the lids are sold separately at Sam's - so make sure you have both.

I've never really looked for them anywhere else, but I'm sure many places have them. Isn't there a place called GVC or something or other - kinda like a Sam's, but without the membership - they might have them.
