Hello all! I am searching high and low for solid advice on how to START the process of selling Disney vacations as an authorized Disney TA. And I have several questions. Firstly being do I have to join an existing agency to become certified? I read somewhere that there is an online course called something like Disney Knowledge Academy or some such. Is that a real thing? I am qualified to join an agency (from what I have read on most websites and been told by a few) but I would rather strike out on my own, build a client base and get experience and move on to a more qualified and elite agency such as dreams unlimited. I know that this job is not for everyone. And I am very serious about building my business, not a side job. I just really need some advice on how to begin the process of becoming a certified professional. I'm looking for actual steps on how to proceed. Please don't take my bluntness as arrogance, I've just seen other posts from people looking for advice and mostly the comments have been along the lines of, "This is not an all the time glamorous job" or "I'm an agent and I love it." I am desperately seeking guidance from someone with experience in starting out in the industry. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post and all feedback will be greatly appreciated!

I can't answer your question since I am with an agency but I wanted to comment on one of your statements...
the class you are referring to is an online course called the College od Disney Knowledge. I don't know how or if you register for it w/o being affiliated with an agency since I did it through my agency.
