Attn: All DVC Members!! Ever been on a wait list?

Hello fellow DVC members!! I am on a wait list for a 3bdm Grand Villa at Old Key West for the week of June 4, 2006 and for a 2bdm Villa at Vero Beach for the following week. This is the first time I have used the wait list system. Have any of you had success with it? Should I not get my hopes up?

the wait list generally will get you what you want - not always - so have a back up plan!!!

Yes, the beginning of January I tried to book for Feb 16 -22. I could only get 3 days. So my backup plan was to go to Pop Century for the remaining days. When I booked I asked to be put on the wait list. Less than 5 days later they called and I got my Studio at SSR (Home) for the entire time. I'll be packing this weekend!

I've had good luck with the waitlists for most things. At BWV, I never get a standard view when waitlisted, but Boardwalk views and Grand Villas come up.
Good luck with OKW waitlists as well.

I was waitlisted at the BWV and got a preferred veiw 1 bedroom.I did however have a backup plan booked and was very surprised when it came throuh.I have heard of people who constantly call MS during the wait and have had succsess that way also.

Yep, once. Couple of years ago in January wanted a 1 bedroom at BCV but they were not avail. Second choice was BWV, but also not avail. Booked one at OKW and waitlisted the other selections. Couple of weeks later got notified we had gotten the BWV, then another week later got the BCV as originally planned. I might add here that I did not call MS at all to ask of any progress.

Once at easter and the other at Christmas. Both requests met. Not for a GV though

I did a wait list for last year BCV april 30th for 5 nights in a studio, it came through, but we had already planned a fall trip and didn't want to use the extra points.

Great experience. New Years Eve 2005. Totally unexpected, unfortunately I could not use the ressie (I forgot I was on the wait list).

At the 7 month window we went on the waitlist for 5 nights in a Grand Villa at HH for the last week of June. We are happy to say that it came through a couple of weeks back.

I waitlisted twice for a one bedroom, standard view, at BWV. Both times it came through. Both times were for the first week in November.

I will be calling MS in April, to waitlist for it again. Keep your fingers crossed that I didn't just jinx myself!

I waitlisted at seven months for a GV at OKW for last December (3-9) and it never came through. Luckily, we had back up reservations and everything worked out fine.
