Gail, I'm a lawyer and I gave you a legal answer. you're not privy to any licensing agreements between your employer and Disney.
I'd have less of a problem with this if you had not identified your employer by name. had you asked a generic question about the use of Disney images by other companies --like "does a non Disney company have the right to use a picture from a Disney movie on a memo to its employees?" -- you would have gotten the same legal answer I gave earlier in the thread.
you not only mentioned your employer by name, you may have revealed proprietary information about your employer. does Godiva really want the consumer to know about the contest it sponsored for its employees?
my concern, though, Gail, is that the net is not an anonymous place. you've posted your real first name, you've posted a lot of personal information here, and you've linked us to our on line journal. someone who is determined to find out who you are could easily do so.
what did you hope to accomplish by "ratting" on your employer? if there is no licensing agreement, Disney may or may not take action against your employer, but either way, you won't benefit. and your employer will have to take time to respond if they don't have a licensing agreement -- at some cost and annoyance to the company. meanwhile, if anyone finds out it was you who caused the trouble -- and it is possible that your employer has someone on staff who reads this board -- you could face problems at work. you could even lose your job.
you could have asked the question, and gotten an answer, without all the hoopla.
