Hey you Disney execs......, I know you're out there quietly reading these boards - monitoring our hopes and dreams ;) . Have you noticed all the traffic on here about the Swan and Dolphin deals in Aug/Sept? :teeth: I am one who has now booked the Dolphin for Sept 2006 after past years of staying at the WL. However, I am willing to renegotiate my vacation plans for a return to the WL if you will simply match or improve the offer at the Dolphin! Can we talk? I would be so easy to persuade but if a better offer doesn't come to the table, I'll be swimming with the Dolphins....which ain't a bad deal anyway!

As I said, look at the stir the offer has caused and remember, the ball is in your court! More free dining, discount rates, any thoughts to attract my attention? :crazy2:

I don't think anyone will notice as WL has never had too much of a problem filling rooms. The rooms here fill even at full price. If they don't have to fill rooms, there is no reason to offer incentives. Attendance is high and that's all Disney cares about.

Especially with the WL - I just read something yesterday that of all of the WDW resorts, WL has the highest guest return rate, somewhere in the 85-90% range!

WDW has no problems filling WL....OP, look at your signature!

You cannot disregard the fact that Disney has offered deals for the past few fall seasons! I have NEVER paid rack rate or gone without a deal such as last years' free dining. While WL is popular(I'm hooked), I don't think Disney offers specific resort deals- it has "traditionally" been across the board or at least by category. So, with that said, I think they will get going with their discount offers for the fall as usual. My point is I just think that with the S/D offer, maybe they should consider doing it earlier this year. It started in June last year.

Deals as in AP discounts?

and no I've never seen specific resort discounts...it's across the board. And I'm not sure what deals they may have for fall...don't pay atttention to those. I am only after the AP or FL resident discounts! I wish they would release all the discounts Jan 1 for the entire year. Would make planning easier.

I agree on the January disclosure but it will never happen. (you just have to drive across the state and we have to really plan!!! ;) )
Deals examples would be the $129.00 rate for WL offered in Sept 2004 and the Free Dining in Sept 2005. Like I said, these usually don't come out until June of each year but the original suggestion/thought was that, since S/D started early with Sept deals, maybe Disney will.

BTW, I agree, the best sands are at Siesta Key......love it.

There isn't much incentive for Disney to offer discounts earlier, since most discounts are offered to fill rooms that would remain empty.

If someone else is willing to pay rack (or AAA rate) for that WL room and book it now, why should wdw offer you a discount and have you take that room they could make twice as much on?

Keep in mind there are two types of vacationers, those who want the best deal and will keep changing plans to get it and those who want to stay where they want to stay and really don't care about the prices. Guess which one gets their first pick of accomodations. ;)
