Attention all MNSSHPers

This is a little upsetting to me :guilty: I think I will wait to hear back from those that attend on the 15th before I buy my tickets. I really do not see how this can be considered a hard ticket event when the park does not even close. I am just not sure what I want to do now :confused3

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm waiting to hear how this works out (starting with the Sept 15th MNSSHP) before I purchase our MVMCP tickets for our upcoming trip. It just doesn't sound too promising at this point.

I think I will also wait to buy our tix. We were planning on attending the 9/29 party, so I will wait until we hear more after the 9/15 party.
We went to MNSSHP in 2004 and really enjoyed it.

Well, I got a response. :(

It was in a phone message. I was out all day.

She said she was Michelle from the "Executive Offices of Disney". That she was sorry I was upset by what I had heard.

She said that they have decided to handle MNSSHP/MVMCP like EMH. That they learned from past experience that it is no longer necessary to close the park to clear it of day guests.

They will keep the park open. There will be greeters at all locations (trick or treat, rides, food place) to turn away those guests without wristbands, and move them to the front of park and out by 7:00p.

She said all offerings will require wristbands and no party festivities will happen on Main Street till all day guests are gone.

She said it will basically work like EMH.

Finally, she said my comments and concerns are very much appreciated and that they will be shared with the office/executives.

I'm a little disappointed to say the least but I'll hope for the best. This year could be my last party. :(

thanks for posting even though it's not very comforting!

In late June, the pm EMH @ Epcot & MK were jokes. We rode MS @ Epcot & Splash Mt. & Space Mt. @ MK...not exactly a success story IMO.

CM's weren't checking for wristbands...allowing everyone to ride grrr.

I haven't got an automated reply yet.

Should we start a thread about the horrors of rude non-resort guests at EMH? I have heard plenty of stories about how people abuse the EMH system to stay in the park. Maybe we could refer the executive offices to those stories so they can see that their park-clearing efforts are not so effective after all. And by the way, EMH=Free and MNSSHP=big bucks. How can they equate the two?

Unfortunately, we will be going on Sept. 15th. This will be our 1st MNSSHP and we were thinking this would be the best part of our trip. I think it will be mass confusion. Hopefully everthing will go good. One of the main things we were looking forward to was lower attendance than a regular park day. I will have a hard time keeping my mouth shut if I see someone in a line without a wrist band knowing we paid and they are doing things for free. I am the type that says what comes to my mind and then I kind of regret it later.

My daughters have been looking forward to the party for the past two months telling everyone that they will get to trick or treat at Disney World. I just hate that we will kind of be guinea pigs at that first party, but at least maybe if it doesn't work out like they think it will they will change the park closing time for the rest of the parties.

::yes:: ITA especially with the highlighted sentence. :( This is quite unfortunate. I've been to 7 parties so far, my 8th this October and I think, unfortunately, it will be my last.

I talked to a very nice MC at guest services that after expressing my fears and displeasure of paying for an event and having other guest choose not to pay and stay she put me on hold, When she returned she said that they will be ESCORTING not ticketed folks out of the park and she also said that if we were not satisfied in any way shape or form to make sure that we go directly to guest services in the town hall building.
WE are going to go and hope for the best, this will be our first time for MNSSHP so it will be fun whatever happens.

Somewhat off topic a bit on this subject, but in regards to the wristbands. What happens if someone 'pulls theirs off'. I am asking this because my 3 year old (who we bought a ticket for), sometimes has a tendency to play and pull at those things until they are off. Does that mean he wont get to see characters because he wont wear it??? I guess I could safety pin it to the back of his costume or soemthing if he does it.

I've seen them put the bands on the ankles for infants/toddlers. Maybe if its "out of sight" he'll forget he has it on ;)

Unfortunately, I'm joining this club. :guilty: I was going to purchase our tickets for MVMCP this month, but now I think I'll wait and see how they handle MNNSHP.

This sounds like it will be very chaotic. With EMH, isn't there a fireworks show right before they close the park to non-resort guests so that most people are already at the front of the park? I'm not sure how they will be able to clear everyone out from the entire park before they start any official party activities on Main Street -- that's where they will be trying to escort thousands of people out. :confused3

Thanks to all who are posting their responses from Disney.

ETA: I see they still have the 6 pm Wishes on the schedule for MVMCP days. Maybe that is there plan? :confused3

We'll be there with you for our 1st time at a hard-ticket WDW event and will be sorely disappointed if things are not handled smoothly. The party is the only reason for this quick weekend trip of ours. We already took 2 trips this year and have another scheduled for December and this was one just to be able to do the party, ugh!

As with everyone else, I am extremely dissapointed with this decision. I think we should keep up the phone calls and e-mails.

Once again, EMH is not in the same catagory as MNNSHP or MVMCP. These are hard ticket events in which we paid alot of money for. I think I will hold onto our $450 until this matter clears up.

in the matter of escorting non paying event guests out, here is an idea: CM says " I see that you seem to be enjoying our Not So Scarey Halloween Party, it does require a seperate ticket, let me take you too the ticket office to make your purchase" If they resist, then CM says: So sorry that yoy chose not to attend the party this year, the exit is this way."
I have been twice and last year was the worst, tons of non wristbanders and the cast members were handing out the trick or treat bags to ANYONE, and more than one. You have a wristband and or a goodie bag, you paid, though not always true. In the restroom there were 2 ladies tryin to slide on last years bracelet. It was very hard to see the parades and fireworks, that is what we like the most.

I have just sent off an e-mail to WDW & eagerly await their response,I worded it fairly strongly but then I feel very strongly about paying money out under false pretenses!! We are going on 10/2 so by then most of us will know if our worst fears have been realised, unfortunately we will already be in the US so too late to do anything about it. I will say that if by the first parade we are crowded by "non-wristbanders" I will be looking for my money back & will never pay for this event again! I'm sure that IOA/US will be making sure that only those that have paid for the priveldge are in for HHN!!

I also sent an email 8/12 and not even received an automated response. I will be sending another today, and more if I still do not receive anything. I really would like this situation resolved one way or the other.

I did get a response from the e-mail address we all are sending it to (guest.mail@disneyonline.com), but boy, it was an odd response! I had to respond back to this individual and let him know to please forward my concerns to WDW.

Dear Debbie,

Thank you for your e-mail to the DISNEYLAND® Resort.

Unfortunately, we are unclear as to which event you are referring to. If
you could please provide us with this information it will help us more
adequately respond to your concern.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write. We hope you will have the
opportunity to visit the DISNEYLAND® Resort soon and trust your visit
will be pleasant in all regards.

Sincerely,

David Haynie

Ok, DH got into the act this morning and sent off the following;

My name Is Scott XXXXX and my family and I are eagerly counting down the days for our first Mickey vacation.

We were equally exciting about attending our first MNSSHP on the 29th of September. But now after reding some of the internet boards and talking to some people, they are now telling me that depite this being a "hard ticket" event disney will not be "cleaning" the park of any non-paying guests.

I am not out to ruin anyone's good time but I also do not want to be sharing Special events such as trick or treating, Hallowishes, and the parade with people who did not pay for this honor as we did. Why did I spend over $100 for my family to attend if we could have used park tickets and just hung out and waited.

I do not understand also why we are not being treated the same way as the other "hard ticket" events. I noticed on your website that the "Night of Joy" concert nights that the park will be closed at 6pm and the concerts do not begin until 7:30pm ? Why do they get 1 1/2 hours for you to clean out the park and we get 0, zero, nil. Just doesn't seem right. Please tell me that we are getting bad information and that this will not be the case.

You got that right! They're pretty vigilant about that, from what I recall.

I just emailed again. Hope to at least get the automated response. I am going to call as well this week and hopefully speak to a supervisor. I am trying to hold onto good thoughts but I am starting to feel more upset over this situation every day.

Kelly

I spoke again to another CM today to verify that there are a limited number of tickets sold for the event. Again she verified as an example, MK capacity is 600 people so 400 tickets are sold to the party. They have added more dates so that they can avoid as many sell out parties they have had in the last few years. So how is it possible they can allow ANYONE to stay that has not paid even for the shows and not know how large the crowd is?

Kelly
