Any downside to attending Magic Kingdom on a Tuesday that is also a MVMCP day? We won't be attending the party, sadly, because my kiddos just can't stay up late enough yet... but we do want to go to Magic Kingdom that morning/early afternoon.

Party days are a good day to go to MK. People not attending the party and without park hoppers don't want to "waste" a day at MK with shorter hours and no nighttime entertainment. You'll be fine. Party goers can enter the MK at 4:00, so you'll probably notice the park getting more crowded from that hour.

We only went to MK on MNSSHP Days last year and found crowds very manageable. One of the 2 nights we hopped over to MK for fireworks it was way more crowded and crazy.

We will be doing MK on MVMCP days only this trip too.

I was in your boat a few years ago with younger kids. We attended MK on a MVMCP night and it was great. Very low crowds in the morning and afternoon.

You might want to set your fast passes for the 4-6pm window. That way when the crowds come in at 4, it won't matter since you will have fast passes.

Have a great time. Christmas is a great time to go to WDW! Hope you get a chance to see the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. It's fantastic.

We went on a Tuesday morning of a party day and had a really great day. By the time 6pm rolled around we were ready to head out anyway. Crowds were low.

Many times I've noticed a lower crowd before the party then at the party so why not go! Keep in mind with your plans that while you can stay til 7pm, party goers will start to join you at 4pm so it'll be a little tight those last 3 hours but it's easy to do things that take longer once they appear (if you even stay that long, rope drop to 4pm with light fast lunch and no break is a great day in mk).

It's a good day to go if you were going to leave early anyway. Because day trippers won't be that likely to choose a day when they have to be out by 7, it should be smooth sailing between opening and 4 pm when the party guests start to show up.

This is very good news. For our first days at the parks this year, we're going to MK on a MVMCP day. It'll be my daughters' first time going, so hearing that there will possibly be less of a crowd is very encouraging. :)

So...I hate to ask but if we have both park tickets (park hoppers to be more specific) as well as MVMCP tickets for the same day, and we plan to be at MK for most of the day anyway, are they really gonna keep us out until 4 (meaning we'll have to do another park until then)? Is there someplace within the park where we can pick up our tickets while we're in there or do we have to leave the park and come back in?

No, if you are using a park ticket that day, you can come in whenever you want to before the party. But you'll be just using a day of your park tickets.

Thank goodness! I thought for a second there that I would have to completely rearrange my plans.

The park tickets are already paid for by my friend's mom. I decided to buy Christmas party tickets for us as an extra. Plus with the limited amount of time we have there, this will help utilize our time in the parks more. And it's Christmastime, so I thought why not?

They have areas inside the park beginning at 4 pm to check in and get your party wristband and schedule.

Like the OP, we also plan to visit MK on MVMCP days without party tickets. Does anyone have experience with leaving on those evenings? Do most people stay until 7? We are hopping to another park for dinner each of those nights and I am unsure if the busses will be clogged with non-party goers leaving over those few hours (4-7) or if most wait right until 7.
