Just wondering - has anyone noticed a decrease in the crowd levels this year compared to years past? I always look at the crowd calender on the unofficial guide but was wondering if they have had to adjust their numbers. We are coming for the princess 1/2 marathon the first weekend in March and I am wondering what to expect in regards to the crowds- usually we come in Sept.

I haven't been yet this year but I am thinking that the attendance will still be pretty good.Remember the economy stinks but Disney is offering some pretty great deals to get people to book , and they are booking.

Exactly!

Plus, peole have mentioned seeing a lot more foreign travellers. Remember, the U.S. dollar is so devalued right now that a trip to Disney is quite cheap for people from other countries.

true but other countries are having fiscal problems as well, some worse than ours. i think we will start to see a decline in foreign travellers.

That was more true last fall, but now the rest of the world is suffering right along with us. Iceland even went bankrupt, you know.

Noope. I don't think we're going to see a big drop. We've had these post for about 6 months now and while I'm sure attendance is down I never thought disney was going to suffer a lot.

Last year when people asked the excuse was, every body traveling had already booked pre economic down turn. Then it was foreign travelers. now it's the great deals
I think it's simply baring total economic meltdown people will cut back but will not totally give up their vacations and if you've got disney on the brain, chances are you'll find a way to get there.

It was $2 to the £1 last June, now it's $1.40. We got $1.50 and still came, but on a tighter budget.

I think you're right about folk that love Disney coming back at (almost) any cost, but the amount of newbies booking is bound to be down over the next few months. We're looking at 2010 unless we can save enough to come for Christmas, but that looks unlikely. Last september we had 1 of the biggest tour operators (that dealt mainly with Florida) go bust, so prices have gone up to get there and to be honest it's out of most average peoples budget these days.

Hopefully things will improve over the next 12 months, but if not I can see Disney struggling to fill its rooms. The parks are the main attraction for us Brits and many of us stay off-site to have more freedom of movement, the ticket offers for us are in some ways better than yours and most of us tend to do US, Sea World, etc as well as Disney. When we come it's usually for 14 days and we want to do everything and a bit more, but the resort room prices are in a lot of cases unjustified for what we would get.
