Attack of the Lakeshore Lodge

I expect them to be added together as well. If the dues are low enough and if you like the lodge but not the cabins, a favorite week may be a good option. What is the final estimated room total of the cabins vs the lodge?

308 units at VLL including their new treehouses and A-frames. Max theoretical 399 with everything locked off.

300 cabins at CFW.

My opposition largely stems from how many cabins they made. It makes the association way too big and the room mix super messy. The maintenance fees are going to be a bit overweighted still by the cabins.

BUT, in a very consumer friendly sense the cabins provide a tether to a very generous points chart.

There are 300 cabins at FW?? Wow, that's way more than I realized.

Just curious, what are “Pods” in this context? Duos or are we talking some kind of outdoor tinyhome thing?

That does seem like a lot of cabins. But if the tower can lower the dues to somewhere around AKV levels then I could still see it being pretty popular with a lazy river/small water park like storm along bay.

Construction photo from today. As reported, it is literally right behind Pioneer Hall.

Our favorite rumor starters, the non-DVC FW CMs (second only to bus drivers) all wanted to chat Lakeshore with me. Two of them both volunteered it will be part of the same association. 😂 We will see.

Any comparison to the Riviera and Island Tower construction? Wondering timeline?

Just my opinion but I don’t think all 300 cabins will be included in DVC. The rest will be cash like they always have been. Right now I think it’s somewhere between 30-60 that have been deeded into the trust.

The documents indicated they will be. With the way the trust worked though, once added, they have to be activated to be used by DVC

So, they have flexibility in the way they handled it.

The DVC Cabins that replaced the legacy cabins have completed their buildout.

There had been a staging ground in the field used for overflow parking at the Fort during periods like Halloween and Christmas - it was taken over with construction deliveries, equipment, and material. Since the last Fort cabin loops have finished their conversion, the field is being renewed with fresh sod (from a FW camper @team bradfield photo).

I'm wondering now which guests in the DVC R*/LL behind Pioneer Hall along Bay Lake will book the "Pioneer Hall Loading Dock View" rooms. Or the "HDDR Dumpster View" rooms. (see the photos in the prior posts above) Think of the value add. These DVC planners really know how to shoehorn a bland monolith into a tight space.

And yes, I'm being generous when I give them that compliment.

thanks for sharing the photos! What is the story on the shoes?
When the CP kids who worked watercraft are done they drive out there and throw their shoes in the tree. As my sister and I drove by on the blue route, I pointed out the shoes up top. They were huge and my son wears a 14 so I commented that they were probably his and I sent him a picture.
He said they were his and sent me a picture back…

I suspect they will be in the same association, and so they will have the same access as the tower does. And, the rest of the Fort will not.

Just because the cabins and the Fort used to be considered the same thing, that doesn't mean they still have to be. It is already the case that Cabin guests have access to evening hours, while the rest of the Fort does not. And it is Disney that does the considering, not long-time Fort guests.
Agree 100% on the same association and about the pool access, been saying that all along. It's why the dues for the CFW are high right now.
