Attached codes.

Another question from me. So...I keep reading about people calling or finding out about codes that are attached to them. We have been going to WDW yearly since 2000. If I'm reading this right, does this mean that we could have had codes to use for the past 8 years and not known about it? Now I'm thinking before booking our upcoming trip on-line as usual that I shoud call and check on these codes attached to me.

Yes... Apparently that is the case. I called up yesterday to ask about a code, and I was told that while I didn't have a code under my name for this year, I did have one from January 2007. Even though I book my trip in January for March of 2007, I was never told I had this code... and I didn't know to ask for one, so I lost out.

To be clear 'asking' about the code is not the intended course of action.

The intended course of action is that you would receive an email or postcard. But .. since people move so much and Disney's reservations system doesn't do a great job of keeping the correct information in the correct place.. if you dont' receive notification -- calling to ask doesn't hurt.

So, I called Disney Reservations and talked to a really nice CM. He said that there weren't any codes attached to my name yet, but to call back because I could get one soon. I thanked him and told him that I will call back later. Thanks for everyone's posts on this topic.
