This ,ay seem simple but I can’t really seem to find the difference. Why did the new ships become grand halls vs atrium? All have multi level views and similar area and styling to an extent. Just curious what the real difference is.

The Grand Hall on the Wish class ships has a dedicated stage with a balcony above it, both for use of the Cast Members when doing events, shows, presentations, etc. The Atrium on the older ships is a bit smaller (I believe) and they use the raised entrance to a main dining room as a make-shift stage. Not big differences, but worth noting.

The atrium was meant to welcome you and greet you to the ship. It wasn’t meant to be a gathering place but more of the ship’s hello as you passed through to the other parts of the ship slowly it became part of entertainment.

Which is what the Grand Hall combines the introduction to the ship but also a place where they can hold small forms of entertainment. Grand Hall gives off more of theatrical vibe.

Anyone else not a big fan of the stages on the Wish ships? I love the ships overall - they're all beautiful. But it's a ship and I think they should have stayed with that theme. The stages just don't look like they belong there to me. It's such a big waste of a great space and it gives off high school stage vibes to me when I walk in.

From what I've seen it's underutilized on the wish but on the treasure and destiny they actually do more with them.

Except they both have a chandelier on the ceiling And the atrium was/is the central welcoming place on the ship when they announce your family.

May be the dedicated stage, but still seems weird to me, and probably no one else Anyway carry on.
