I may want to use my AMT/Debt card.

Is there a place I can use my ATM/Debt card?

Is it a good idea to not use a credit card just debt card?

DH wants no bill coming in for a quick Wonder-ful cruise.

How much cash for a 3 day cruise?

Thanks
Linda

good question, I would also like to know if there are any atm's on board, CC, or Nassau:listen:

I don't recall any ATM's on board, but there might be, I could have missed them. I'm sure there are ATM's in the Bahamas, but I'm not sure if they use USD's in the Bahamas as their currency. They accept USD's everywhere, but that might not be the local currency and whatever the local currency is is what will dispensed in ATM's in the Bahamas. There will be an ATM at OKW in the Hospitality House.

No ATMs on board. Remember that a debit card doesn't give you the same legal protections against loss as a credit card....

As to cash, you will need some on the islands, otherwise you don't need any. Everything is billed to your KTTW card which you can pay off with cash, trav. checks, personal check, credit card, etc.

As to how much money one spends on the trip, that is highly personal and covered in another thread. Things you will spend on include tips ($76 per passenger suggested on 7 day), spa, soda, alcohol, photos, souveniers, smoothies.....

We needed some $ midway through the cruise, and weren't sure about the ATMs at the destinations, so I went to the front desk, and they cashed a personal check for $100 for us - that's the limit, one check per stateroom per cruise, for $100. It was a good "backup" for us, to be sure we had $ for customs and such at the end of the cruise! :)

I was able to pull US dollars from a bank in the Bahamas when I went on my trip November 1999. Not sure if it's still that way, but I can't imagine why not. I seem to remember being given a choice of denomination, but can't say for sure.

If you plan to use your debit card, you may want to check with your bank to see if there is a dollar limit per transaction per day. Last year for our trip to WDW we had planned to pay for everything with the debit card and/or cash from ATM's. Well when we went to purchase the park tickets (for 5 people) the transaction was turned down because it was over the dollar limit per transaction set by our bank. So we had to pay by credit card and pay off the credit card when it came in.
