Atlantis - $129 Travelzoo rate is back

Oh, just an FYI. When I booked out room at the Atlantis for the $129.00 + rate, the lady on the phone told me the cancellation policy was 15 days before arrival. Didn't know if any of you got the same information or not.

I just booked mine as well. I too had to pay 45 dollars for DD12. I also upgraded and paid 40 dollars to be closer at the royal towers. I was made aware of the 12% taxes and gratuity for housekeeping. We did this last year except we were at the beach towers clear on the other side of the resort. Everything we are interested in is at the royal towers side. The pool and slide area is wonderful and friendly for all ages. The bigger slides are obviously for older children. I almost remember a place for "little ones" even a slide. It was money well spent for us last year. They were working on the new aqauadventure when we were there. That part is going to be awesome. I also had trouble getting my room online. I called the 1-800 number and was well taken care of. They email you a receipt promptly. Tell them when you will be there and what you are doing...they are use to it.

Thanks to the OP for posting...I was on vacation and missed my top 20 from travelzoo.

You can also cancel up to two weeks prior.

I'm looking into booking a room at Atlantis for Dec. 7 which happens to be a Friday. We are being charged $169, but it looks like my two children are being charged $45 a piece! We are a family of 4. :confused3 Anyone else encounter this?

I just called Atlantis now, we got for a party of 5, 2 adults, 6, 5, 3 year old 169.00 for the night and we would have to pay 12% tax when we arrive.
15 day cancellation in full policy too.

this is a suprise for the kids, we just booked the short 3 night cruise, but for this price I may as well go to Atlantis for the day.
They did not tell me about a housekeeping fee however.
I received an e-mail confirmation also

The way I understand it is you will have to pay 15 dollars per an adult (twelve and over) per day. No big deal really if you compare to other excursions for a whole family. My children loved it last year. We will do the same this year.

I hope my kids enjoy it, I was really thinking of not doing it. They don't need to go on the big water slides, but I would love to see Atlantis and have some fun for adults too

We are also booking on a Friday with two kids but they are 11 and 9. Maybe that's the difference. We're paying $169.

Actually, I just called Atlantis and booked us with the promo code for $169, but I will be charged an extra $45 for my 12 year old son. :confused3 Oh well, we're going to pay it because we really want to enjoy the day at Atlantis. :thumbsup2

It must have something to do with age. I booked for my family of 5, for 169.00 on a Friday. But, my children are 6, 5, and 3. They charged my card because I have the confirmation e-mail so I guess I didn't get the extra charge.

You're right, it is age. At 12 they charge an extra adult in the room charge. Bummer for me, but we still want to go. I'm just a little concerned about all of the other charges that appear on the bill when you check out. I'm expecting 12% tax and $10 for gratuities which was told to me when I called to book, but is there anything else? :confused3

Ok. so it is for age. I got told 12% for tax and nothing about gratuities, so that would be a big difference for me too. Is it 10.00 per room or per person??? If it is per person that would be 50.00 for us, and we won't even step foot in the room. Well maybe I would like to see it, but I doubt we will have time!!!

I may have to call them soon and find out exactly what the price is for!!

The reason I was told non-refundable is because I called 8 days before our arrival date.

The woman wasn't too forthcoming when I asked about each specific additional charge, but I requested a breakdown for the amount for each.

The housekeeping gratuities and service fees, I believe, were going to be $15per adult (whe wouldn't or couldn't give a firm # on this - either $15 or $20 pp). DD at age 13 was being charged as an adult.

I calculated for me, DH and DD(13) $129 + 45 ("adult" child surcharge) + tax at 12% + $15 x 3 for housekeeping and service fees = $240 (Plus cab fare + lunch)

The $129 room rate was a great deal for those with younger children, but not for our situation. Glad it worked out for others.

What a croc; I hate an advertised price, bumped up by non-optional fees! Sorry, include your housekeeping "fee" in the price and keep it honest!:rolleyes1 ::yes::

I just called Atlantis again. They forgot to tell me about the housekeeping fee. It is $10.00 for anyone over 12. For my family it would be 20.00 plus the 12% tax. I guess that is still Ok for us. I have till 14 days out to decide.

At $10 per "adult" that will add $30 to our reservation so the total is now $269.68. I hope! :confused3 I think it still beats the price of going through DCL at $155 per "adult". I put adult in quotation because that includes children 10 and above. Not adults to me. We're still going to do Atlantis.

Michamato, when is your cruise date? We are going on the 3 day Wonder Dec. 6. I was wondering about how you said you had 14 days to decide about the Atlantis.

I am going on the wonder on Dec 13th. We will be at SSR from 12/8-12/13 and then the cruise for a few days. Make sure you ask Atlantis again about Adult because they told me 12 and over. Looks like we get on the boat shortly after you get off of it!!!!!

Atlantis considers kids adults at 12, but Disney counts them as adults at 10.

We're looking forward to our trip. We'll spend 2 days at the parks staying at the Beach Club before the trip. Can't wait!:thumbsup2
