A friend of mine and his family with kids ages 5-12 will be driving by
Atlantic city with summer, He would like to make a stop there ...

Can anyone here offer there opinions on what to do for about 1/2 day there ??
Any websites to look at .. ps. I was trying to find the new ? outlet mall shopping info for him but no luck....
Of course with the wealth of info here, I told him... not to worry will get back to him !
So.... anything to go see ... directions to outlet shopping , where can I find this ??

TIA...

Atlantic City is definately not a family resort. The outlet shopping street is ok, just keep the kids with you. I can't remember what street it's on. Parking is defiantely a problem, they have lots but no on-street nearby parking. There is a pier with rides but it's priced pretty high. Inside the casino's there's nothing for the kids and they don't allow kids under 16 to be left in the game room alone. I'd suggest Ocean City or Wildwood if they want to take the kids to the boardwalk.

I have to agree with the PP.

Atlantic City is THE reason I now research vacation destinations :scared:

I live in Ocean City, the island next to Atlantic City. AC is not really a family resort however the beaches are and they are free. There is the Walk that has some great outlets but doesn't sound like fun on a hot day for kids. The AC boardwalk is casinos and a lot of junk shops. There is a Rainforest Cafe, though. Don't even think about stopping at Borgata, no kids allowed.

Honestly, OC is so family friendly. We have 2 amusement parks and 1 water park on the Boardwalk. The beaches are well guarded and clean, we are a dry town (no bars or cocktails-no public drinking). There are loads of mini golf courses, playgrounds, tennis courts, etc.

many thanks !
I will pass all this info on to him and let him rethink and decide !
