Atlanta Int'l Airport

Anyone with experience at Atlanta Airport? If so, what is the quickest way from Concourse C to Concourse E? I have noticed that there are escalators down from C to D and from D to E but i am unsure of the trains. We have flown into Atlanta only once in past trips and do not remember much about the layout. I have viewed the terminal layout on the website but it doesn't do much for answering my question.

Unfortunately it appears that our flight going to Atlanta has a history of being late arriving in Atlanta and we only have a 50 minute window after this flight arrives until our next flight departs for MCO.

It looks as though today's flight was late arriving in Atlanta by almost 45 minutes.

Just a another reason to stress!

While I have never actually been to concourse E (but I've been to A, B, C and D!),there should be no problems taking the train from C to E.

Just look for the escalators down (in the center of the concourse) and follow the signs. Not sure why it doesn't mention train access on the map...maybe it's not up and running yet? IIRC, concourse E is relatively new. If the train is not running, there should be moving walkways or hallways.

Not sure if this helps...but I've always found Hartsfield to be very well marked and easy to navigate. Just steer clear of the main terminal so you avoid the security lines!

Take the train! They run fairly quickly and the longest wait I've had has been 2 minutes. If you have 50 minutes between flights, you should have plenty of time -- even if you arrive at the end of one terminal and have to go to the end of the other one!

Take the train. Each time we have flown into ATL it seems we have to go from A to E with 50-60 minutes between flights. The train comes by every 2 minutes and is super speedy.

I too was having a coronary about making the connection. We got there with plenty of time to spare.

tks for the info With a 50 minute window between flights, i have nothing to sweat but if it is late arriving (as it qute often is ) we will probably outrun the train. (LOL)

I'm sure you've already booked your flights, but as a word of warning, when I fly with a connection in Atlanta, I always force at least a two-hour layover. I have personal reasons for doing that, but that practice has always saved me when flights are delayed.

Carol or anyone, here's another question in regards to the airport trains. If we arrive in Atlanta at Concourse C and depart Atlanta at Concourse E, will we have to take the train to B & A before getting back to E or do we go from C to D and then to E?

You'll go from C to D to E.

I routinely connect with 50 minutes or less and have had very few problems. (And when I have a problem it is generally likely that even an hour or two would not have helped. For example, they shut the airport due to a thunderstorm and I had to land in Greensboro for fuel!)

The train is MUCH faster then walking even if you are running late. Don't be tempted to sprint down the sidewalks wait for the train!
