I have a lot of weight to lose (about 86 more pounds or so), so I'm sticking close to induction levels of carbs...most days I'm under 25. Every few weeks I'll have a day where I'm not exactly cheating, but eat more than usual...about 40 carbs for the day or so. I've noticed that when I have a higher day, my loss for the week is actually greater. I'm afraid to increase my carbs too much in general, because I'm the type who has to be strict in order to be successful. If I give myself too much breathing room, I find myself beginning to eat excessively.

Anyone else?

I've heard of that happening, in fact, I think Dr. Atkins suggests increasing your carb intake for a day or two then going back to <20 as a way to "jump start" your loss occasionally.

I should try this, huh?

This happens to me also. Some days I think your body just needs those extra calories/ carbs whatever to get it moving. A little extra energy to burn off the bad stuff. I have noticed it the past during other "diets" as well.
I have been very worried about gaining weight the past two weeks with all the meds I've been on, no exercise and increased appetite from the steroids the Dr. put me on while I was sick. I know I have been going over my self set limit of 20/25 carbs a day some days. But I checked the scale this morning and have lost 5 lbs! Tomorrow is official weigh in day so I'm not counting it as official yet but watch for my new clippie tomorrow!

Yep...every once in a while....we take a day of more carbs...we feel good and it seems to help the weight loss get back on track when we are stuck.
