Hi. I will be starting Atkins induction tomorrow and was wondering if anyone could write down a few things that I will need for my grocery list. I know what I plan on buying but I thought you guys might have some things that I will forget.
I have been trying to lose weight since Jan. eating sensibly, etc. Weight Watchers doesn't work for me. I have managed to stay exactly the same weight(better than gaining) but nothing i do is helping. I didn't love the idea of Atkins but I have a family member(uncle) who is going to start it with me and I know that usually helps to have support. We actually work together at the office as well so he is going to bring food, lunches etc for me. I have 2 little kids, 4 and 2 so I don't always have much time to prepare meals or exercise. Hopefully Atkins can help me.
:rolleyes2

Thanks,
Kim

My mother has been on Atkins for over 2 months already and she is doing very well. She started before our big trip to WDW.By the time we left she had lost 14lbs and shes's still going stong.
May I suggest you check out the web site http://atkins.com/food/recipes/index.html
it has get infromation and it also has menus and recipes that can help you on your way. From what Ive seen its a very easy plan to follow and Mom isnt missing out on anything.
I wish you luck ;)

I got your shopping list!
Must have.......... LOW CARB WRAPS..o my! these are good for so many things......breakfast borritos, sandwiches, pizzas, quesadillas,(toast them ) and you got chips for perhaps spinach dip! Its endless the things you can make with these!
I always have salami and or pepperoni and cheddar cheese in the frig.
mozz cheese string cheese. of course bacon eggs and LC bread.
not sure if you like but pork rinds are LC. and I have grinded them to use as bread crumbs. I try not to do that too often Loaded with fat.
Sugarfree syrup..........

anyway, these are things I am sure not all are aloowed in induction but most of the things I live on.
good luck.
keep us posted.

The first few weeks are a little more difficult than the rest. During induction I went through lots of bacon, eggs, cheese, ground beef, steak, pork chops, chicken, etc etc. Also, I ate 2 cups of romaine and 1 cup of tomato each day. I also had low carb salad dressing on hand.

It will feel strange to eat this way at first. It really goes against what we've been told is "healthy". It works, though. Once you are through these two weeks you can add in more veggies and get some more variety in your diet. Just hang in there!

Thanks for all of the ideas and encouragement. I have made it thru my first day and it wasn't so bad. I did have bacon, eggs, cheese, chicken, romaine lettuce, zero carb dressing, steak with A1 carb well sauce,a little broccoli, and I am going to go to bed soon so that I won't think of food!!!

thanks again,
Kim

Good luck with this. Avoid things that aren't strictly on the list of allowed foods for induction. It will make a difference in your weight loss.

How is it going today?
