Athens Tennessee for Staying on Drive Home?

Anyone familiar with this area? Its a little north of Chattanooga and Cleveland TN. We want a decent place to stay driving home from Fla to Michigan and I found a Days Inn that had a price guarantee. I found a lower rate on Orbitz then on their website so one of our 2 rooms is free and the one we have to pay for is only $53 plus tax so the money is great! But does anyone know anything about the area?

Not sure about Athens, Tn. We stay just a little north in Sweetwater, Tn. Very pretty area. We are also from Mich.
