ATG Gun Refills?

It says "THE ATG 7502 TAPE WILL FIT YOUR 3M ATG 700 (YELLOW DISPENSER) AND SCOTCH 714 DISPENSER (RED DISPENSER)." But, it doesn't say only 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 fit the 700. I can always call before I order.

I got the 714 and it fits only the 1/4th. I believe if you get the 700 it will fit the 1/2, but you can buy an adapter and use it with the 1/2. I went with the 1/4 because if i need it wider I can just run it again next to the strip.

so if you buy the 700 yellow one you have to have this adapter to use the 1/4 inch tape.
and i think *maybe* that the 714 only uses 1/4 tape with no adapter.

Yes, I think that's it. The 700 needs the adapter to work with the 1/4", but also takes the 1/2" and 3/4". The 714 uses only 1/4". Is that how you're reading it?

She's having movie night right now, so I'll answer - the 714 only works with 1/4" tape, you were correct. I couldn't answer otherwise about the 700, but if there's an adapter, it seems you figured it out!

Love the ATG - hate sharing the gun.

And yes, I do go through a lot of tape....

I have the 714 that uses the 1/4 tape. I have never needed it to be wider, but I could add another row of it to make it 1/2. I love the ATG -- it is worth every penny.

I have ordered from framing supplies -- I do prefer the 3M tape, but the tape from the tapedepot is so much cheaper, that I buy that tape now. It is a little tackier and a little harder to just roll it off when you make a mistake.

If the 1/2 tape is more expensive, I think you should go with the 714.

I think you guys have figured this out just fine. To the best of my knowledge, the 714 uses only 1/4 inch tapes and the 700 does 1/2 inch (and other sizes with an adaptor).
