ATC Swap Due! ALL Mailed Back. Thanks!

Math Michi, check your math!! :rotfl2: we would need 4 states to do the whole country, it comes out to actually 12.5 so we would need 1 person to pick up the America theme and 1 more card (I think, I suck at math LOL)

anyway 50 states / by 4 = 12.5 so 12 people x 4 cards = 48 + 1 person to 2 states and the cover.

We were talking about 13 in the group for the ABC swap.

I think the states and the ABC should be separate swaps from the regular ones.

The other themes we can combine since we are keeping the groups small. I would like to see a full calendar one too. That could be broken down to either 6 swappers doing 2 months or 12 doing 1 depending on interest.

OMGosh hahahahahaha I was mixing the states & the ABC's. OOPS, hahah . Duhhhh???
Sory about thay hahah. Yes, 4 per person for the states & twoper person for the ABC's. I'm so glad you caught. Meanwhile everyone thinks I'm smoking something:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well, we just did the full calendar for this swap. We should probab;y skip that one the next one since we just did it. What I'll do is put the ABC swap in with the other little groups & then do the states seperate.
Thanks agian for catching that. I swear I'm not on anything!:rotfl2:

Oh, I swear that I can spell too. I was just blown away on how dumb I was...hahahaha

How about favourite/home town? That could bring in the Chicago theme and any others like New York or whatever:thumbsup2

I bags Vancouver! And possibly Plan de la Tour (its in France - Jonny Depp lives there but I didn't see him :rolleyes1 )

That's what I was thinking this morning when I read that, but I thought there must be something wrong with the caffeine I was consuming, so went merrilly on my way to a work meeting! LOL!!

OK, I'm starting to build my cards and I have questions.

Do you just use the ATC manila colored card as a base to build on or do you incorporate the card into the overall design?

No one locally has the cards in stock so I bought the same cream color in cardstock, is that ok?

I'm basically getting the feeling that these are like giant collages on an itty bitty scale, right?

I really like the victorian feel with lots of layers but Michi your cards had pretty clean lines, is messy (in a graphic kind of way) ok?

Am I over analyzing again?? :teeth:

You can use playing cards as a base I've seen that alot as well but yeah cardstock is cool too.I'm basically getting the feeling that these are like giant collages on an itty bitty scale, right?Yeah pretty much for the most part...But lemme just say I had to get in a whole different mindset when i started ATC's cause there's the scrapbook side of me that was all ohh stickers and die cuts..and that's just not really the feel you want to go for thing random and artsy.

I overanalyze everything don't feel bad :thumbsup2:hug:

You've got it, Buffy!!! They are really cool miniature collages. I love messy in an artistic way (which my house is not right now!)

I have some special stamping cards that I got last year at a shop near me They're white and I was told the best texture for stamping, which I'm doing a lot of so that's what I'm using. I may need to cut them smaller since I will likely mat some. The base (white color) won't be seen, though, except maybe on one.

Sounds like you're on a roll!! I need to clean my house tomorrow night before I start putting these together!

I cleaned my kitchen today so I wouldn't feel guilty about working on these tonight. Plus DS12 had a friends mom come get him and I wasn't going to let her see this pig sty! :rotfl2:

I want to have as much of this stuff out of the way as possible before DH and I leave on Friday for WDW. 16 years and we finally get 1 weekend to ourselves! LOL Long awaited honeymoon. But I don't want to be rushed when I get back.

I'm not to worried about the cardstock as the base since 99.99% of it will be covered.

I'm going to build stuff but not adhere it right away so I can tweak as I go. This is new territory for me and my perfectionist side is totally getting in the way. I don't want to screw up! LOL

thanks for answering! I hate when I over analyze stuff.

Wow, have a wonderful time at WDW on MY birthday weekend...LOL!! I couldn't go then because it's just a couple of days before a music convention. Seriously, you should have a wonderful time with just the two of you, and the parks, especially Epcot will be beautiful!! Enjoy your time together!

I used ready-cut cards because I hate cutting cardstock;) (OK, remind me again why I do so many swaps??:lmao: ) I basically assembled everything on paper or other stuff first, then stamped the card and filled it in (name etc.) and THEN put the art and the card together - so if I messed up the stamping or writing I could just flip it and use the other side:rotfl2:

My groups:

I am trying to get my backs cut.

Then I will put them in baggies and start gathering what I want to use on them.

Hey BAMB, sorry I didn't get to yo sooner. I've been busy like heck..
Ok, you can totally use the card stock as a background as well. It's is after all card stock. The ONLY rule is the actual card has to be 2.5x3.5. You can have stuff hanging off of it, the chipboad as your background..

I didn't think I had clean lines..:rotfl2: Thank you I thought they were all over the place... MEssy is great. That adds to the vintage look. I LOVE it!!:rotfl: Ihope I answere your questions ok. If you have more to ask, go for it sister!:flower3:

Upu guys are on a roll....:rotfl: Good for you. I kinda made my backs a little sloppy vintage looking. But my main concern was to make sure I put the mediums I used on the back so you guys can see what i used. Anywho, as far as looks go, that shouldn't be too much of a worry.

BAMB, have fun at WDW!!!!! I couldn't get my husband to go there with me by ourselves to save my lifs:rotfl2: He can't stand it there. Oh well, I enjoy going with my son & M_M anyway.... Have a great time. I've got to clean my house as well. I feel like it's never ending. I can never get caught up....
