I checked in on Saturday. Everyone her is wonderfull, very friendly. We were upgraded to a water veiw. We have a great veiw of sromalong bay. We can see the Dance Hall all the way to where people walk over from the boardwalk to the World Showcase. When we arrived in our room we had a surprise from concierge. A gold treasure chest baskest filled with goodies. Also a signed picture of Snow White for myself and a signed picture of Cinderella for Denise. Last night at 9pm the white chocolate cinderella slipper/with vanilla mousse and rasberries sitting on top. Also a very rich chocolate dessert(I had pre ordered this). We have also had wash cloth animals. Concierge offerings have been the best of the resorts I've stayed at with concierge. Typical breakfast offerings. Coke products are kept in a cabinet, just help yourself. I havn't seen any water except perrier. Seaside snacks-(11:30-4:15)salsa & chips-vegtables and dips-cheese and crackers-fruit-cookies-yesterday there was agreat tasting carrot cake-gummy bears-pretzels-coffee-tea-lemonaide-thats all i remember from that. Twilight Delights(5:00-7:00)-beef on a stick with dipping sauce-minnie bb&j(snack time also)-fruit-cheese-cookies-coffee-tee-juice-there was more but I can't remember. Regatta delights(8:00-10:00). Kuluha(others but I don't remember-Many little desserts-coffee-tea-juice-cookies. Everyone has been considerate of each other and the Concierge staff very helpfull and freindly. Turn down service is very nice. Hooked up to hi-speed internet today. I was to busy to inquire earlier. Went to guest services prior to going to the park and when I got back a cord was waiting for me on the desk. Well thats all for now. Wish you were here. Susan

So glad you are having such a great time. My good friend's daughter works in the loung at both the Y&B. Her name is Amy, she has dark, shoulder length hair. If you see her tell her I said hi! How are the Christmas decorations?

I saw Amy yesterday. The christmas decorations are nice. I do prefer the GF(even the new tree). I am really liking the YC decor.
I have read where many people didn't feel as comfortable here as oppossed to the BC. I've seen many happy children and no one appears stuffy. I've have stayed at the BC and now prefer the YC. Of course I say that whenever I stay at a new place(lol).Susan

Sounds like you're having a great time. We'll be staying there, for the first time, in April. Sounds like we've made a good choice. Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy! :)

I am so glad you are having a good time! We are on our way to the Yacht Club later this week. Can you tell me if they have a seperate concierge check in there? How does that work? Thanks!

Hi, Poohs Pal!

Glad you're experiencing Yacht Club Concierge service! Isn't is nice not to have to do everything yourself? We stayed there last August on the FTP, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Okay, Yacht Club and WDW in general, not Orlando weather!

When we were trying to decide where to stay, I wasn't fond of the Yacht Club decor from the video, brochures and online photos. However, in person it's fine! The children staying there were pretty typical: excited and well behaved for the most part, with a few meltdowns! Overall, I think their parents were a little more tuned into their chidren's needs than some, which kept the noise level down a bit.

If you want bottled, drinking water for your room, ask one of the lounge CMs. It's in glass bottles ($7 on the room service menu, no charge to concierge guests--and $1.69 in the grocery store!), so you can't take it into the parks. After the first day, the concierge authomatically asked if we would like a bottle! We're pretty undemanding guests (planned and reserved almost everything ourselves in advance), so they may have felt guilty about our lack of need for their services!

We has one nasty, stormy day during our visit, and the concierge lounge provided our food for the day! The restaurants were overflowing, and I don't eat much at one time, so a piece of fruit and a little something with it several times a day fit the bill for me! And Leu (friend who was with me) enjoyed the opportunity to sample several teas, wines and--of all things--grits! The sort of things one doesn't buy for oneself just in case...!

Enjoy the rest of your stay and be sure to write a trip report so we can enjoy it vicariously!

lookingforward:

YC Concierge has its own check in on the fifth floor. If you reserved far enough in advance, they will send you a package with a request form (PSs, etc.) and an elevator key card. You let the valet know that you're checking into concierge and they will either escort you to the elevator or point you in the right direction (we arrived during a storm and they were swamped, so we were fine with being pointed in the right direction, although I'm sure some people would be offended!).

The concierge area is located just as you exit the elevators. There are two desks, which are used for all functions. I think we turned in the elevator key card upon checkin, as our room key also operated the elevator. Or you can check in downstairs, if your prefer.

Pooh's Pal - when do you go home? We check into YC Conc. on Saturday. I can't wait!! Keep the details coming - It helps keep the anticipation level high!!

Also - regarding the drinking water - do they have a big bottled water jug that we can fill up cups at? We are all big water drinkers and the water in WDW tasts horrible! Should be buy several bottles before we arrive, or will they provide them if we ask?

Thanks for the updates!!

Thanks everyone, We are having a great time. My DSIS purchased a Pal Mickey and we are having a blast with him. 4 Princess Morganne. Someone posted last night about asking for water and concierge will get it for you. I'll try to remember to ask about this tomorrow. Also didn't you mention that your little princess will be celebrating her 7th birthday while here. Did you mention this to concierge? We are leaving Saturday, what time do you arrive) Floridafam: We see Trevor everyday and she is allway's full of smile's. Housekeeping and turn down service is great. Lounge concierge CM's are allways keeping all the goodies full and the lounge very clean. I also remember some time ago someone mentioning that there wern't any trays for taking food back to the room, they do have paper trays(similar to McDonalds tray). tnkrbell, You will love the GF. Pooh's Pal - I saw the earlier post about the water - but it sounded like this might be the exception - not a general thing. I appreciate you checking on it for me.

Yes, my DD will be celebrating her 7th B-day on the 10th. I've been working with Lauren and have a whole week's worth of surprises planned - I mailed 2 big boxes of gifts to her last week. She will see that several gifts are left in the room each day. I've also requested a Pal Micky to be waiting for her at checkin - glad to hear you are enjoying yours.

We are planning to checkin around Noon/1:00. We have our concierge Elevator card and everything ready to go. I sure wish they would include valet parking in the cost of concierge - I guess we will all go park the car, then walk in togeather.

Thanks again for all the great details!! Hope we can meet on Saturday.

Hi Pooh's Pal. Glad to hear you are having a great time! We arrive Dec 19th - 25th for the YC concierge. I asked on the restaurants tread about breakfast for Christmas Day. So, have you eaten breakfast at the YC resort? Just not sure what to do Christmas morning. This is our first WDW trip.

abwdreaming: We have been catching a quick breakfast in conceirge so I can't answer your question.
The only water available is the 1qt glass bottle vittel. Susan
