At what point will you sell all your DVC?

Thats a good question.......As of now I'm in it for the long haul but if air fare gets to the point that its to expensive to get to Florida than I may change my mind. But with the young kids and the wife wanting a third, owning DVC will do nothing but help my WDW trips. Plus I love it down there.

Sounds to me like you might want to do what we're going to do because of rising airfare. Move closer to WDW. We figure we can drive 500 miles in a day, so we took a map and drew a 500 mile radius around WDW. Somewhere within that radius is where we'll move. So we're definitely in it for the long haul. Sell my DVC? Bite your tongue! Never gonna happen!

Well, we moved a bit farther away (MI -> AZ), so we're more interested in the DVC @ DLR rumors than VCR. DVC a 5 hour drive away would be woo-hoo-rific!

Well, let's see ... dh and I will *only* be 73 in 2042 (LOL!) so we'll just let it expire and maybe spend any trips beyond that in WDW's concierge-level accommodations! :thumbsup2

DH and I own at SSR, we'll be 75 y.o. when our contract expires and we intend to hold onto it until then. At that point we'll be old and crochety, and spending our kid's inheritance by staying Grand Floridian Royal Palm Club. :woohoo:

As we are about to embark upon paying for a college education for our first born with our second child waiting in the wings to also attend college, I would say that we will sell our DVC when and if the tuition bills exceed our ability to pay them (or take out loans to pay them).

I'll be almost 90, daughter 67, and grandchildren 42 and 39. By then, I will have deeded my 5 (soon to be 6) contracts to family members so they can show the magic of Disney to their kids and grandkids.

Sell, I don't think so, but never say "never."

Unless something really off the wall happens, we are in until the end, without a doubt. We would be fools to sell. Annual dues are our only cost, which comes out to pennies considering the vacation accomondations we get at a place we love.
We have yet to trade out, we just love the DVC properties. But we are seriously considering a trade to Hawaii. If we ever get tired of WDW (which I highly doubt since we have been going 2-4 times a year since 1972, plus we have grandbabies in the future!); we can trade out to other places and resorts all over the world.
Nope, we will not be selling. We will be there until they kick our tired, old bones out!

We are in it for the long haul. We bought a lot of points with plans to use them all forever... perhaps even snow birding when we retire.

Oh yeah... Oh yeah We heart of DVC.

No plans to sell, but six months ago we had no plans to leave PA and relocate to Orlando. In two weeks we will be Floridians. So one does not know what the future will bring.

Now that we will be so close to our favorite destination we asked ourselves if DVC and our Marriott at Cypress Harbour really made sense. We don't need them to enjoy all that central Florida has to offer. We don't need them to escape northern winters.

But our current thinking is that we can now enjoy four weeks of vacations without having to fly anywhere. And we could drive for a VB or HH visit if we want. Our conclusion -- for DVC we may not stay full weeks any longer, eliminating the weekend premiums. For Cypress Harbour it is a bit less clear, but we can still enjoy a wonderful resort with no travel costs attendant to it.

As I've noted several times, I plan to add a smallish contract, likely CR if they announce it, then sell all of my points. I can trade in to DVC in a 1 BR easily about half the year and still get the member perks.

I have no intentions of selling. Adding on maybe.

Realistically, never. I don't see us selling unless really bad circumstances, etc.

I plan on having my son go on Spring Breaks there as a teen/college age and will give him our points to strategize his honeymoon, when he marries.

He's 10 now, so I don't see us selling, maybe transfer the deed to him for his families pleasure.

I will sell mine when my health does not permit me to travel. Hopefully that will not happen, but I can't see any other circumstances.

I didn't buy as an "investment" so getting anything out of the points seems unlikely.

This is how I/we feel as well.

I could never think of selling. I actually have just started thinking about buying a resale somewhere else. We love our DVC and couldn't ever part with it. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We don't plan to ever sell. But never say never.

We'll be in our 80's when our contract runs out, and hopefully at that point our kids will be enjoying the parks with their kids while we sit on our balcony at SSR sipping wine, eating cheese and catching some rays.

Long haul. Although, I'm considering changing out some contracts for others. UY issues. That's all. Will be saving to buy into any new DVC offering too. I'd love to own at the Contemporary or Polynesian. I don't know what the DVC plans are. If they do Hawaii, California or Europe...tempting to add more points.
