At what point do I give up?

I called Disney two weeks ago to put a payment on our reservation. The woman told me that we only owed $500, which I knew was wrong, so I told her. So she says, no you paid $1600. I told her there must be a mistake. She puts me on hold, comes back on, I don't think it's a mistake, she says. It definitely is, I tell her. Back on hold again...She comes back, are you sure? she asks. At this point, I have to go to work, I tell her to please fix it and call me back.
No phone call. I call again. and again. and again. I called this morning for THE SEVENTH TIME, still showing a payment of $1600. I don't want money applied to my account that isn't mine, but they won't believe me, what do I do?

Wow, I don't know what to tell you. Hope somebody else here can help you out.

I would be upset too thinking that they put someone elses deposit on my account.:(

I don't know how you get them to fix it but when we were there in Oct. we were double billed. I received a check last month for those charges. So they must have some way of double checking.

Have you asked for a supervisor?

No, I hadn't thought of asking for a supervisor. They keep acting like I am crazy, they have a confirmation number and everything...I may let it go for now, certainly they have monthly audits and they will catch this.

When you figure out how you got $1600 you didn't pay credited to your account, would you be kind enough to let me know how you did it?:bounce: Woo hooo- talk about your cheap trip to WDW!

Believe me they will catch it if it were a mistake. Do you know of anybody who may have paid on your account for you as a "surprise" gift?

Your best bet would be to ask for a supervisor. Last week I realized my CC had been charged over 1,000 dollars too much. I kept calling talking to different CM's but none of them could really give me much useful information. I finally called back and asked for a supervisor. She was very helpful and even explained to me that CM's can't access certain pages on accounts and reservations like they can and she was able to see the problem and fix it for me as well. I'm sure someone will be able to take care of it for you. Best of luck and some pixie dust for you!

I would call and ask to speak to a supervisor. If they continue to insist that you have paid the $1600, I would document, in writing, that you have repeatedly tried to fix this and have had no luck. I would then send that to Disney, and keep a copy for your own records. I would also ask them to put in writing that, as far as they are concerned, you have paid the $1600. Beyond that, I don't think there's much more that you can do. I'd just hate to see them catch this a year down the road and come knocking on your door, when you no longer have the funds earmarked for them. If you have it in writing from them that you donot owe the money, at least you do not have to keep a "reserve" set aside for an indefinite amount of time. (Not trying to "scam" Disney here or anything, but, at some point, the OP needs to be able to move on and not worry that a $1600 bill is suddenly going to appear - they should only have to keep the funds set aside for a reasonable amount of time for Disney to correct the mistake.)

Hopefully, whoever really did pay them the $1600 has proof of payment (which they should, assuming they paid either by credit card or by check), so that they do not lose out.

When I called them, the supervisor I had (ask for a supervisor) said they can search the system for all payments made with a certain cc#. Maybe ask them to search for your cc# if that's how you paid ???

I was charged for something that I wasn't suppose to be and that's how they found it. $300 mistake on their part :(

That is my primary concern that this money was mistakenly credited to my account and it belongs to someone else. The suspicious thing is that I did not get a confirmation letter from them on this "1600.00 payment"
I don't think anyone would have made a payment on our account, everyone thinks we are nuts for going back:hyper: Plus the amount is really wierd, like $1628.91

Yikes they did charge my credit card!!! I never asked them to either. I was on the phone with my cc company while I was posting. The wierd thing is that I only made my initial deposit with my credit card, the rest have been with my debit card, so does that mean disney keeps your numbers in their system? I am going to call WDW now to try to figure out what's going on:confused:

Ouch! I saw a story on the news last night about problems with Visa and Mastercards being charged wrong so maybe this is what happened. Hope you get it worked out.

The 800,000 double charges this week happened only on purchases at Wal-Mart, so I don't think that particular thing is an issue, but double charges aren't uncommon. I even bought movie tickets with my debit card once and had the charge go through something like seven times!

Yikes!!!! :( That's scary to think that they charged your credit card for the entire amount without your permission.
