I'm creating our plan of attack for our first visit to DLR. We have three day park hoppers with one magic morning. We'll be in the parks Wednesday Aug. 31-Friday Sept. 2 and I can't decide what day/park of those three days is best to use the magic morning. The parks don't open until 10 a.m. on the Weds and Thurs we'll be there. How would you divide up the parks? For context, it'll be me, my husband and our two kids (ages 9 and 11). We've been to WDW, but this is our first trip to DLR. Our only reservation is the WOC dessert party on Thursday. Thank you!

The Magic Morning that comes with your parkhopper is ONLY good at Disneyland, not at California Adventure. Early Entry for CA is only available for guests who stay in one of the three onsite hotels.

Generally, most people on here suggest that you use your magic morning on the first day it's available, which would be Thursday, for you, because you'll have more energy for getting up, earlier in your trip.

Hope you have a great time for your first time in Walt's Park! :)

ETA: actually I just re-read your post, and I guess Thursday would be your ONLY day to use it, since you're Wed-Fri. :)

Hi. Sounds like your MM is only good for DL. The DCA early entry is only for Disney hotel guests. 3 day parkhoppers for offsite guests get a DL MM only. I think for your days that means you'll need to use it on Thursday.

For starters, Magic Morning is only offered at Disneyland on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays. I think they had some days over peak weeks, but the rest of the year that's it.

As the other posters replied, it looks like Thursday is your only chance to use the MM at Disneyland Park, but since you have a WOC event planned that night in DCA, I hope you have Park Hoppers. In addition, you'll need to plan to get to the security checks about an hour but no less than 45 min before the MM opens to make sure to take advantage of that extra hour...it can get real crowded real quick. And I recommend reviewing the rides available for MM, as not all rides are open and the FPs are not active until normal park hours. If Peter Pan is a must for you, I would head there first, as it has the worst wait times aside from Indiana Jones. Good Luck!

As others have said you'll have to use your MM at DL on Thursday. Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are the only two areas open during MM. Which you decide to do could be greatly determined by what you want to do on your first day. Do you feel the need to go to Fantasyland first (some people do), or are you okay with waiting for your second day? Planning for Disneyland is not as stressful as planning for WDW, but sometimes trying to figure out what park to start in each day can give you a headache. On Wednesday and Friday you have the problem that DCA will already have EMH guests from the hotels when you're allowed to enter. But you don't want to give up your MM hour either. You could start at DL during MM and hop over to DCA for their opening, but that can add stress and extra walking. Decisions, decisions. Whatever you decide I hope you have a great time.

Another option would be to do rope drop at DL on Wed (as it is a later opening--be there an hour early) and DCA on Thursday (this means that you aren't competing with the DLR guests who will already be in the cues on Wed or Friday). You can then choose which park to do rope drop on Friday depending on what rides you want to catch without much of a line. You give up your MM in DL, but it has its advantages for DCA.

I'm so glad I asked! I totally didn't realized the MM wss only good for DLR. But now I'm even more confused about what park to do on what day! Maybe we'll use the MM Thursday for an hour and then head to DCA when it opens. We do have park hoppers so we can bounce back and forth. I appreciate the replies!

Scrap it and go to DCA. You've already got plans there anyway, and crowds are a bit lighter at DCA in the morning when there's MM at DL. Good luck. ;)
