DD stopped when she was 3. She let me in on the secret....the ones at the mall are fake. She wasn't sure I knew and didn't want to embarass me. So after she made sure I knew, she didn't want to take them anymore.
Why do you have to stop? My dd is 9 and I've plans to take her picture with Santa this year. Deep down, she stopped believing last year. She wants to believe, but she does know.....
I say when they stop believing, or stop wanting to!!
My daughters last yr were 12 and 7, and they still took pics...and I'm hoping to this year too... but she may not want to at 13
My Goddaughters get their pictures taken every year. They are 26 and 23 this year. They do it themselves now. lol! My son never liked it so we only have a few years. Why stop if they don't care to stop?
My DS was 7 days old on his lst. Christmas, I had to have his picture taken with Santa. He has had his picture taken with the same Santa for 8 years.
Where we go, Santa is dressed Victorian or Traditional, I didn't know that the lst. year I went. I make sure we always go when he is dressed Victorian because that was how he was dressed on my DS lst. Christmas.
Not sure about this year, DS will be 9 and I am thinking he may not want to do it this year.
What??? Stop??? We do it for fun every year. The past 3 or 4 years DS14 has wore his own Santa outfit and had the pics made. My nephew,16, has done the same. They have alot of fun with it and tell the little kids they are special Santa helpers. They don't put the hat and beard on untill they get to Santa to take the picture. Even the little kids have fun talking to them.
My girls are 9 (today) and 12. We took the picture with Santa last year but my older DD wasn't too keen on it so I think it might just be my 9 year old in the photo this year.
Well, for dd the only picture I actually managed to take with Santa was when she was just a month old. After that she was old enough to protest the following year and every year after that. She wanted nothing to do with him.
When she was about 3 or 4, she stood by the fence around Santaland and waited patiently until he had no children with him. Then she yelled, "Hey! Santa! I want a Barbie dollhouse, please!" Santa, bless his heart, nodded and sent an elf over with a candy cane for her.
I still try to get dd to do it for me but it's been a few years since she would, lol.
I think I'm still trying to make up for the first three years of her life when she wouldn't go near the old fella for love nor money.

DD is 12 and as far as I know still believes. Shes questioned it a time or two, but as far as I know still believes. But like I said before, she stopped taking pics with Santa when she was about 3. Her choice since she knew the ones at the mall weren't really "him".
