We broke the news of the gingerbread house in the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread 2 weeks ago, and I'm so glad the house appeared!
We have just been looking at photos of it (links that people posted in that thread, from other sites). I love the mini-hearth. It's supposed to be 6 ft tall. It's much bigger than the one in Storytellers Café each year.
Not last year's pics. There wasn't a house in the GCH lobby last year. This is the first year for it. The photos are from today.
I'm glad that the house appeared, because after I reported on it 2 weeks ago I figured there would be a Blog or announcement from Disney about the gingerbread house (since it is brand new this year) -- and there was not a peep from Disney (in Blog format) until today. They reported on other things associated with the holidays. A couple of days ago they even did a blog about pins inspired by the gingerbread house at the GCH and the (fake) Castle at the DLH. People began reporting that the giant Christmas tree was up in the GCH lobby, but there were still no signs of the house. I began to wonder if I was crazy and had totally imagined what I read on an official Disneyland info site (not the DLR site).
So, to hear that the house was up today -- and to see photos of it -- makes me happy that what I reported on 11/7 actually came to fruition and wasn't something I imagined!
On the last page of the Superthread, there are links. Click on the links provided by crystal1313 and Jenasweetemotion -- HERE. There are two different views of the house.
