At this rate, I'll end up in the Presidential Suite at GF!!

Assumming there is one, of course. Back in April, I contentedly made our reservation for a week at PC. We have always liked it there. After a few months...had to mess with the reservation. ( I think I do this just to talk to a Disney CM...) Switched to POR, we have never been there, and I wanted something a little nicer than a Value Resort. Ok..that's fine...then I got on the boards and listened to some things about POR, decided to switch to POFQ...fine, we have been there, the kids like the Sea Serpent slide at the pool...fine...OK, all this time I am calling every week or so to see if WL has a discount available..none. So then I start checking other deluxes..NOW (today) I am booked at AKL, which will be great..we have never been there either. So I will continue to check for WL (this is DH's only thing at WDW that he really likes...Grumpy Spouse, what can I say..), and I am wondering...where do I stop?????

So, is there a Presidential Suite at GF? Just wondering for future reference..

Think it is an addiction ~ the sad thing is that every once in awhile I'll ultimately decide on the orginal resort to save money

This time started at FQ, then Dolphin, then Swan, then WL, back to Swan due to date change and now, for good,Polynesian!!!

Maybe there is more in your future yet...but AKL is pretty great - which room did you book?

Enjoy...and want to see a TR to see where you actually stay!!

You are not alone!! I do the same thing...for our trip next year, I originally book POP, then changed to POFQ for the extra space. Then my oldest son told me that he didn't want to go (he will be a senior in HS) so we changed our ressie back to POP again...(my DH loves POP and is thrilled)....but I still have 11 months to plan this trip and anything can happen!!!

AKL is our favorite resort. You are going to love it!! Enjoy your planning!!

Awhile back I started a thread that went on..it was called..>Confessions of the Resort Changers!!

I cannot tell you how MANY times I changed before ending up at Yacht Club Concierge....and while there, we purchased Disney Vacation Club.
I am cured lol

FYI..I went from POP, to CBR, to CSR, to WL, WL CL, CY view...then YC!!

Right now, I haven't asked for a specific room, other than the CHEAPEST!! I am pushing it with the AKL, but since we are there for a week, I wanted to enjoy the resort some, too. Do you have a standard room suggestion? I will definitely "hint, hint" at check-in if they happen to have one of those complimentary upgrades I hear about...but for now I am just going to take a breath....

DisneyBride03, when I asked about the Pres. Sutie at GF, I was thinking that was the worst damage I could do...completely forgot about DVC...

disneydreamer1970, you are right, planning for me is half the fun..when we return from one trip, I am already planning the next one...(sometimes while I am on the current trip!)

It's a sickness. Glad I am not alone...maybe we can form some sort of support group?

We originally wanted CSR, though none was available at time of booking, so we booked CBR again (stayed there last year). Then we switched it to POFQ, then finally was able to get CSR. Then the Visa codes came out and now we are splitting stays between AKL and CSR. Whooh....I'm finished...

Welcome to the club...there is a reigning queen who has not graced us with her presence for awhile now, Ktink...but she is the Queen of Changing Reservation/Resorts....alot of us bestowed that honor to her

The advice/counseling I received that helped...lol


Book the highest level you KNOW you can afford...that will alleviate you second guessing and "moving up" if you will.....
or buy DVC...
As you can see, I took the advice!! lol

We booked AKL std and had no idea what kind of view it might be or that they gave upgrades sometimes. The resort was new at the time. We had a perfect Arusha Savannah view which spoiled us forever - so would only book a Savannah view next time.

Would not book AKL std room now because have read so many bad reviews of those rooms and would not want to take a chance: Rooms looking at the wall to the bus stops, rooftops, garbage, truck docks...so, if staying AKL would only book a view I could live with. View means a lot to me as I enjoy the resort as much as the parks.

With all the contstruction, wonder if upgrades are fewer now, so rather than AKL std, would keep trying for WL. Personally, would stay at a mod rather than AKL std, but others might not agree.

We're currently booked at CSR. EVERY trip, I usually change my mind several times. It drives DH nuts. I'm not allowed to discuss anything about the Disney resorts with one of my sisters. She thinks I'm obsessed.

If you look at the trips in my signature, you'd figure we just love AKL and that's the end of it, right?

Every time I plan a trip, I start out at a mod to try to save money and convince myself that I will not miss AKL. This time it was CSR. I studied Buzz's site, and was all set to go there, all booked, ready to request the cabanas section, looking forward to something new.

Then I think, ooh, Wilderness Lodge looks really nice and you can take the boat to MK (where we spend the most time). And we're going right before Christmas, so the decorations will be nice. So I changed to that.

Then my son was asking if we were going to see the giraffe again (his favorite animals in the world) And it turns out that AKL would be cheaper becuase WL only had courtyard available. And my husband asks "we like it there, why do you have to do this every time?" So we're back at AKL.

BTW, That's not even counting all the times I booked, re-booked using AAA, re-booked using the Disney Visa code, and re-booked using the "Fall special rate" code.

My husband is convinced we will not even have a room when we get there because I have done this so much. So I have to remind him that I do this every time we go, and we've always had somewhere to sleep.

My honeymoon has gone from a carnival cruise and 5 nights at the POFQ then to WL and Carnival....then Disney Cruise and 6 nights at WL...Now we're looking at a VWL or SSR for 6 nights, 1 night at the Honeymoon suite at the Poly and a Disney cruise....

Sigh....bye bye money....lol

Your honeymoon is totally excusable for this type of behavior. The rest of us have no excuse.....

BaciBecky, LOL...I just called them again for the third time today....No Savannah available at a discount, so it is out of my hands..will have to keep calling for WL...hope it opens, that will be the clincher if I can get it.........



............I do think I overhead the CM whisper to another something about "crazy woman", but can't be sure.....

I take it a little worse than that at times. Switch resorts and play back and forth w/ the dates. For our September trip I ended up booking 3 reservations @ 2 different resorts for 2 diff weeks. Finally narrowed it down more and more and stuck with CSR but changed dates again. I'm glad I did.

Since all the changes in my life this past year I know have the financial flexibility to branch out a little and that's just overwhelming me w/ the choices. Do i do more days and stay at a cheaper resort or spread out the $$ over a couple of trips, or do i splurge and go for a deluxe?

But for our Jan (and now maybe dec, too!) trip I'm still teetering back in forth and alot will depend on the AP rates as to where I stay. I have a tentative ressies for poly booked and am thinking of moving already to CR. may call today and switch. My main problem is you guys feed my obsession but you also make me feel not alone in my craziness!

First visit--well, technically second (22 years after first!), I changed our resort four times on the Fairytale Package! Usually the only thing I do is apply codes! *lol*
