At the park now, FP+ lines are snaking through the park

FP+ was not billions of dollars in itself. More a biproduct of MyMagic+. Theoretically they could abandon FP+ and still receive benefits from MyMagic+ but I'd doubt that would happen.

Yes, that's a point. I should have been more specific. I was talking about the whole package (bands, FP+, the kiosks, the extra CMs with ipads, the training, programing, the website) the whole MyMagic+ system. I guess in theory you could nix the FP+ part, but then what does that leave the bands but a glorified expensive substitute to the old room keys.

And then they would still have money lost on all the old kiosks they uninstalled as well as the new ones they put in. They would need to spend more money to reset everything, or spend more money to reprogram the whole system to work like the old system did just electronically. Either way more lost money. I just don't see that happening. It would be more of a headache than leaving it all alone.

No, actually, you're not. The majority are the millions of people who visit WDW every year and have never, ever visited or posted on the DIS boards. The millions of one-time WDW visitors who probably don't have an opinion one way or another and don't obsess about Disney every single day of their lives. Do you seriously think the people on these boards are the "voice of the people"? About 17 million people visit WDW every year. DIS posters are an eensy weensy drop in Disney's bucket. I really don't think Disney cares what we think. You mention "the thousands of other posts" - thousands of posts from, what, maybe a hundred people, posting repeatedly? Voice in the wilderness.

Yep, to me its awful because it ruins the way I tour. But to the average tourist who didn't even know what a FP was or only used 3 or less anyway. It's great news.

The majority of tourists are happy because they now get to walk onto 3 whole rides, clueless that that really isn't that great of a deal. But, since they aren't planners, they don't know better. Does Disney care that my experience is lessened? Of course not. Me riding less doesn't cost them anything. They are making tons of people happy. You know the ones who go to Disney ride 4 rides all day where they wait for over an hour for each ride. Then they come back mad because Disney is no fun. Those people are jumping for joy right now, they only have to wait 1 hr for one ride.

I mean that was the plan all along. Even the playing field and spread things out. Take the 8 FP I might use in a day, 2 or 3 for the same headliner, and spread them out to other people. Now instead of me riding a headliner 3 or 4 times without waiting in a day. I get to do it once maybe twice if I'm lucky. Disney gets to let 3 more people than normal ride it without waiting by essentially giving the FP I would have used to them instead.

Disney also forces me to stay in the park longer by forcing me to hit rope drop for the other headliners I'm no longer allowed to use FP for. Then they keep me in the park by spreading my times out so that I have to wait in between each FP reservation. This means I'm more likely to shop or eat. Add in that all the stand by lines are now longer, and I'm even more likely to shop or eat rather than stand around in line in between my afternoon FP+ reservations.

In my opinion, they don't really want you to tour efficiently or to the standard people on the DIS are use to. It's not really in their favor. Touring that way leaves very little extra time to spend money and takes all the FP away from other tourists.

My guess is that the percentage of tourists who go to Disney and leave unhappy with a bad experience because they didn't plan is equal to or greater than the number who are frustrated with FP+. Planners are frustrated, and then not even all of us. Non planners, seem to love it.

Yea agree. Just find it awesome that our worst problem is how FP+ is ruining our lives. If that is the worst then most of us have a pretty amazing life. Just trying to show some perspective. I know I am insane for even trying. Main reason just not worried about + or - or tiers. I am still going to have a great time because I am at disney with family and we will smile more than be upset. It is all in your outlook. Your/our choice.
I have bigger concerns than FP+ but I'm not going to discuss them here. Others might be the same.

Perspective can be good though. :)

Now I get it... This is Disney fundamentally changing WDW with a share the wealth program. :)

At Epcot yesterday, was said to be a level 7. Just reporting what I saw. Didn't see any long FPlines at all. We used ours at test Trak and soarin (I got in on the one day when you could get multiples), we walked to the front on both with our bands. We used them anywhere from 2pm to 5pm. Just to give you all an idea.

I talked to a cm today when I called
To make final payment on our vacation.
I asked about this FP system and he told
Me that depending on the number of
Complaints they get ect will determine on weather or not they go back to the old system.
So those of you who have had bad experiences the best thing to do is call and complain.
Hopefully things will get better.

This is not going to happen. The CM was just trying to placate you.

Yeah, I was being extremely sarcastic. I'm not quite that narcissistic.

However, it is very safe to say, Disney is well aware of the DIS. Now, if they care what we think, that's another issue. But I think this goes beyond the DIS. Pretty much any social media site you take to that talks about Disney, whether it be a message board or just reviews, there are far more complaints about FP+ than praises. This, Disney cares about. If they don't, they're really stupid.

I actually heard complaints were way down on Facebook. Maybe that means they fixed all the FP+ issues? :rolleyes1

Agreed, but they may not react in the way that some hope. Guests have demonstrated that they really VALUE their fast passes.

Want to talk about stupid - a decision not to cash in on this demand would be stupid.

Actually they are experimenting with a new rollout called facebook plus. You get to hear all the wonderful comments and look at nice pictures. With facebook plus Disney can tell you what's relevant, that way you know everything is A OK! No need to see anything that would tell you there are problems. That could be stressful!;)

:rotfl2: and :thumbsup2

But you only get to post 3 messages each day, and only on one page. Thankfully most people don't care about posting repeat messages. ;)

And I post on FB almost never, so I don't understand everyone's beef with the 3-post limit.

I guess you missed the sarcasm. :duck:

I guess I did. Wow, I am pretty good at picking that up. Maybe I have Sheldon syndrome.

Here... let me help you out.
