I am not at all a fan of AT&T. We had them for at least 5 years (cell phone service) and when we moved to our new house, and it was time to upgrade our phones, suddenly, they could not longer help us.
I switched to Verizon. Have phone service and DSL through them (cell phones, we recently did away with home phone) and pay for Directv just through Directv. (Verizon does offer a bundle, but, with our package, I don't think it's much of a savings, if any). The great thing is, Verizon gave us an AMAZING deal when I called and told them what AT&T was doing...and we actually get a signal in a lot more places now!
The funny thing is, AT&T swore we couldn't upgrade our phones, but we could keep our service (they told us that because of our location, we cost them too much money...never mind the 5 years we have paid them and rarely used our phones) Anyway, now they keep sending us offers to "come back to us".
Sorry for the long rant....I just know AT&T's customer service is beyond a joke. Even before our switch, whenever I had a problem, they were never too eager to help. I always just figured it was because they were always looking for new customers, and ones already in a contract, well, they already had my money!
If I were you, I would look into some other options. There is no reason to have to work this hard for a service that YOU are PAYING for....in this economy, you would think keeping customers would be job #1!
