Well vacation is now over. I think I left off on Wednesday with my last report.

Wednesday was a day off for the kids, DW, and I. We spent the day swinning in the OKW pool and relaxing between thunderstorms.

Thursday we spent the day at Epcot and visiting all of the worlds. We spent some time during the downpour of rain in Innoventions looking through the new Mission Space exhibits that they have created. I was really impressed that I could answer all of the 8 questions about the space program that were asked through a computerized Kiosk.

We Spent time at all of the attractions and used fast passes for Test Track. Test Track by no suprise was experiencing technical problems again and our experience was delayed briefly while we were on the ride. We ate lunch at the Electric Umbrella expecting Mickey Shaped pizza's and instead got bland old round ones like the ones served at Pizza Planet at MGM. We spent some time in France watching the Statue interact with people. We walked through the countries till we got to the American Adventure and went in an watched the show. I always enjoy this show. We also ate at the Liberty Inn.

At this point the evening gets interesting. Since I video tapes Illuminations on Tuesday evening I decided to go to MGM to try to catch Fantasmic which I had not video taped yet. My DW and DD's headed back about this time (6:00 PM) to the hotel to go swimming and I stayed and video taped TON. After TON I proceeded to MGM to video tape Fantasmic. I got a pretty good seat up towards the top of the ampitheatre and very close to the center. About 15 minutes before the show the sky opened up it downpoured. We did not have any idea that they were cancelling the show until all of a sudden all of the Firework charges fired at once, this was at 15 minutes after 9:00 PM. I proceeded to leave and was drenched. Guess it pays to watch the weather channel. lol

On Friday we went to MK and my youngest DD had her breakfast with the princesses and Alladin. My oldest duaghter decided to wear her t-shirt with the witch from Snow white on it. When Snow White came around to our table she gave my oldest DD a very hard time and it was very funny. She told her "You know she is'nt a very nice person". Both daughters enjoyed the characters and the breakfast was very good. :D

We quickly went down to the back of the castle and waited for the remainder of the park to open. Suprised though they were introducing 45 new cast members that Friday was their first day on the job. I am really confused after the news this week that they will be laying off an additional 1000 employees between DL and DW. At any rate they helped to open the park and we proceeded right to snow whites scary adventure and then to the Pooh ride which we got through the two rides in about 30 minutes. We rode the Indy race cars and then went to Tomorrowland. We rode everything in Tomorrowland at least once and then headed for Casey's for lunch. After this my DW headed for the Resort to pack and take a nap while the kids and I stayed at the park.

We met back up with my DW at 5:00 and then went and rode SM one more time. We then headed back for the circle in front of the castle to stake out a place to watch Spectromagic and then the Fireworks. Both were wonderful and my DW and oldest DD headed back for the resort while my youngest DD and myself stayed for E-ride night till 1:00 AM. We rode every ride that was open at least once and some three times. The rides that were open were CBJ, Splash Mountain, BTM, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, TTA, Alien Encounter, The Haunted Mansion, The Astro Orbiter. It was well worth the price to stay late. After this we headed back for the resort and had the whole bus to ourselves going back to OKW.

Saturday norning we got up and packed the van to head home after we did some more shopping at DD. We were on the road around 11:00 AM EST and we got back home to due alot of accidents around 6:30 AM this morning.

We really enjoyed this vacation but now I can hardly wait till we stay at VWL the second week in November.

Check out our web page later as I should have the pictures posted and maybe even some of the videos.

Thanks for taking the time to post during your vacation and after! Always good to hear news from "home".

These were probably seasonal employees. All along they've been saying they would have the summer help in the parks. The layoffs are coming from the career employees in mostly "backstage" areas. I think the additional 1,000 aren't just from the parks but from the entire WDW empire.

I am assuming the fires are no longer an issue with that much rain! Is this from the former Tropical Storm Allison?

We wish we could get some of that rain!! But, "no," these rains are just our normal summer showers...

I know it puts a damper on all of your visits down here, but we REALLY need it!
